Here comes the bride? Mariah Carey, 46, and Bryan Tanaka, 33, are engaged and planning an over-the-top wedding, according to Life & Style, January 25. Well, that was fast, seeing as she broke off her engagement to Aussie billionaire, James Packer, 49, just three months ago in October 2016.
The singer and her backup dancer boyfriend spent the holidays in Aspen with her children - twins, Monroe, and Moroccan, 5 - and Christmas was apparently extra special this past year. She and Bryan "briefly talked about marriage on their romantic trip in December 2016, but he showed her just how serious he was by actually proposing a couple weeks later", an insider told Life & Style. There's one problem with this pretty picture. Mariah's rep denied to the mag that she's planning on marrying Bryan. So, what's going on here?
Well, their source insists that we will see a wedding come summer 2017, and what really made it official was Mariah's disastrous performance on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest. "She was down in the dumps," the mag said. However, "Bryan was a tower of strength, and it brought them even closer." And now, they're planning a lavish wedding with invites being sent to Beyonce, 35, Oprah Winfrey, 62, and more A-list stars, as reported by the mag.
Mariah is apparently read to drop some serious cash on her alleged upcoming wedding. As for what's on her agenda? The singer reportedly wants to rent a castle in England or Scotland in the summer with a British chef, like Gordon Ramsay, 50, or Nigella Lawson, 57, to prepare a feast for her wedding guests. Oh, and her children will apparently be in the wedding too. Moroccan and Monroe will be the ring bearer and the flower girl, the mag reported. And, it wouldn't be a real party unless Mariah performed, right? Well, that's supposedly in the "wedding" plans too.
Don't get us wrong, we love Mariah and Bryan as a couple. But, we don't think a wedding is in the cards just yet. In fact, Mariah is in no rush to walk down the aisle. Not to mention, when she and her man were on their Christmas getaway in Aspen, a source exclusively told us that Mariah had "no interest" in marrying Bryan because she had just got out of a major relationship. Mariah does love him and thinks he's "fun, sexy, and adventurous in and out of the bedroom", but an engagement isn't happening just yet.
Mariah and Bryan met in 2005, and they've been good friends ever since. They were first reported to be dating in November 2016 when they spent a romantic weekend in Hawaii together, and were reportedly spotted smooching on a beach. Since then, they've been seen out on romantic date nights. Although Mariah's played coy about their relationship, she always manages to dodge questions about Bryan, making it totally obvious that she's got a special place in her heart for the dancer.
Now, Mariah and Bryan's relationship is being played out on her E! show, Mariah's World. The 8-episode docu-series shows the start of their romance and things are currently getting hot and heavy as we're headed for the last episode.
