Next Aussie single confirmed
A double-A side of "Never Too Far"/"Don't Stop" has been confirmed today as the next Australian single. "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life" was originally planned as the second Australian single, however that has now been scrapped. "There is a legal issue and unfortunately it cannot be released as a single anywhere in the world," said a Virgin Music Australia representative earlier today.
Mariah is one of Virgin Australia's main priorities, and they appreciate everything the fans have been doing. "Believe me, we are trying our best to get radio to play Mariah. As you can tell it ain't easy. We've tried all the mixes etc etc. I have to say the fans have been an amazing help also with emails and calls (especially with video hits)."
Virgin Australia are pleased with the new double-A side single. "...we can target [Never Too Far/Don't Stop] at the most suitable stations and it looks like America is going nuts as well (which is great!)." Their dedication to the highest selling female artist ever is unconditional. "We are 100% committed to MC and to handling her career in the most respectful and professional way possible. Please keep them crossed for me that we'll have Mariah here next month!"
A release date has not been decided, however it is expected to be late September, early November. Now that we know the next single for sure, we can request with absolute certainty. The campaign to get "Last Night A..." on the Hot30.com Countdown has now been replaced with "Don't Stop". You may request "Never Too Far" if you like, however in reality it is obvious which one will have the best chance of gaining airtime. Many thanks to the Australian Mariah Carey Fanclub.
