Mariah Carey will adopt if she does not get pregnant
Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon will reportedly adopt a baby if she hasn't fallen pregnant within two months. The couple married in 2008, following a whirlwind relationship. They have made no secret of their desire to become parents, with both saying they can't wait to start a family.
It has now been claimed the pair have spoken about an adopting a child, and have already decided which agencies they will approach if Mariah doesn't conceive. "Mariah and Nick are thrilled at the prospect of finally starting a family together. Mariah feels incredibly blessed to have a solid marriage and a soaring career - but now her primary goal is motherhood," a source told National Enquirer magazine.
"If it doesn't happen naturally, then Mariah and Nick are ready to adopt. They have lined up several potential adoption agencies. They've also looked at baby profiles online, and Mariah is completely enamoured of two mix-raced baby girls and one cute-as-a-button boy as adoption possibilities."
Mariah, 40, and 29-year-old Nick are believed to have started trying for a baby almost as soon as they were married. The couple have previously been seen visiting an in vitro fertilisation (IVF) clinic. They are now said to be excited at the prospect of becoming parents, with Mariah feeling excited by the idea of having a full family unit. "Mariah would love to experience pregnancy, but she and Nick aren't hung up on having a biological child. All that really matters to them is that they begin building a family," the source said.
