CD signing event at New Virgin Megastore
WHO: Performer and songwriter Mariah Carey, the #1 most successful female artist of all time, with 16 #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and more than 150 million albums sold world wide - the first female lead artist in the 47 years of the Billboard Hot 100 to occupy the #1 and #2 spots in the same week, with this year's "We Belong Together" and "Shake It Off".
WHAT: A rare west coast in-store CD signing event to celebrate the re-launch of Mariah's The Emancipation Of Mimi: Ultra Platinum Edition, the expanded new configuration of her quadruple-platinum Island Records album. The album is tied as the highest certified record to date of 2005 according to the RIAA, and has also sold more than 6 million copies worldwide. New edition recaps the original album's 14 tracks plus four new tracks, including the brand new single "Don't Forget About Us", follow-up to "We Belong Together" and "Shake It Off"; the album to be available in standard expanded CD version as well as special deluxe limited edition two-disc (CD + DVD) package.
WHERE: Come catch Mariah Carey as she walks the Platinum carpet in front of the brand new Virgin Megastore, Hollywood, located at 6801 Hollywood Blvd. Mariah will meet with her fans and sign copies of her CD at Virgin Entertainment Group's brand new 20,000 sq. ft. west coast flagship at the landmark Hollywood & Highland center, between the Kodak Theatre and Grauman's Chinese Theatre. The newly opened Megastore delivers one-stop shopping for the hottest, freshest entertainment culture products. Virgin Megastore Hollywood carries an in depth selection of music and DVD that they have become known for, as well as an amazing array of pop culture apparel, portable electronics, games and books.
WHEN: November 15th, the official in-store release date of The Emancipation Of Mimi: Ultra Platinum Edition, starting promptly at 6:00 p.m., Mariah will meet with her fans and sign CDs.
HOW: Virgin Megastore, Hollywood will hold a special midnight sale, starting at 12 AM on November, 15th of The Emancipation Of Mimi: Ultra Platinum Edition, where a limited number of special wristbands will be distributed to those Virgin Megastore, Hollywood customers who purchase the CD. The wristband will guarantee a place in line for the CD signing event, but will not guarantee a meeting with Mariah Carey. Space is limited. One CD autograph per person, no memorabilia to be signed.
