About Dennis from Miami, FL: There's got to be a way...

Andrew (50,967) by Dennis from Miami, FL
I agree for 100% about #1s. I'd prefer her music to be great and I'd like Mariah to be honest to herself and do what she really likes not trying to fit in. And I still believe this is not the end of the road. MOIA era was much worse. I hope she will do less movies and more music. A good song could be written in a few hours. It can be polished for months. Or it could be more time consuming. But if it's good it will catch up with a listener and will live a long life. A movie is different. In a song the singer is revealing oneself somehow, but in a movie an actor is pretending to be somebody else. I know it sounds stupid, but I prefer music over movies. Music is more honest. In 3-4 minutes there is no less emotions and life than in a 90 min movie. I hope MC will do less movies and more music.

Your posts are hilarious. You're like the Kai boy from an Andersen's fairytale. You see everything distorted and ugly.

My name is Dita (50,913) by Dennis from Miami, FL
As a former Madonna fan I can tell you that she had mentioned many times that she was jealous of MJ or any other famous man in the industry. I can't see passion in what she does. She is a good businesswoman, with intuition. To me Janet was and still is a "truer" artist than Madge. Remember Madge flashing her nipple in Istanbul or her behind on some other date. That was a real artistic statement. Madonna also talks the same old stuff in her interviews. And she is more afraid of aging. But lets be honest, most of us are. By the way, Madge hadn't toured much between 1993 and 2001. Her first tour of the millennium was Drowned World (when she was 42 already). It was not so visual as her later tours. Regarding bipolar, many people surrounding us have it. Maybe MC has a middle age crisis. That is normal. She will overcome it. She transformed before already. And I wish her another successful change.

MC as a gay icon (50,880) by Dennis from Miami, FL
I think she started to embrace the LGBT community after her divorce, especially starting during the Charmbracelet era. She is more like "gay friendly" than "activist". IMO she's not like Lisa Minelli or Cher or Gaga. But I like her songs and that is more than enough. Remember in Mean Girls there was her poster with CTTA in the room of the LGBT character?

Ciccone (50,878) by Dennis from Miami, FL
I used to be a huge Madge fan for years, until Hard Candy. I see the lady as not honest to herself and to the music. Her lyrics are the same from record to record. And she desperately tries to stay relevant. Her involvement in politics, I don't get it. Malala, Front National, Pussy Riot. [censored]

Heartbreak (50,286) by Dennis from Miami, FL
I don't think it's the end of the road for MC. She will rebound. Maybe not tomorrow but soon. I remember myself during heartbreaks. I remember the last time, I've been listening all the time to HATEU and it worked out but very slowly. So I don't blame her for all that performances. It's hard to go back to normal life. But it's good time for a change. And she will change, there is no other choice. The problem is that some people are more used to the image created by Tommy. She is not that person and she's been trying to prove that ever since Butterfly came out. She's talking about "abuse". I understand why. Tommy was always monitoring her work during their marriage. If you read any of her recollections or his book about most of the singles he was rarely satisfied by the initial results of her studio works. That's why Walter had his final touch on Dreamlover, or she didn't like to sing Hero herself, or to record her Christmas album at that time. It was his vision of her, he was trying to create perfection, but she's a real person. That's is what many of her later works are all about.

MIAM / HATEU (50,285) by Dennis from Miami, FL
I was listening to MIAM all day. She had strong reasons to sabotage such a good album. I cannot call it anything else but sabotage. Maybe she was just buying herself out of IDJ/Universal contract, it was the last album, right? All promotion stopped after her shoulder dislocation. And she was talking all the time about "full body of work". So she was not interested in promotion. Something happened in the record company and we'll know one day. To me it's all a big disappointment, not due to low sales or charts, but because there was no recognition. I can't stop listening to Camouflage, it's classical Mariah, and sounds like it's from Butterfly album. The only song I don't like is YM, I don't understand why it was chosen as a single.

One you gave away (50,250) by Dennis from Miami, FL
Listening to my first album right now. Someday on repeat. Someone mentioned that M was rehearsing Someday for Vegas. It's been a long time since she performed many of her #1's and especially Someday. It has very unusual lyrics comparing to most MC's songs about relationships and break up (WBT, DFA). She has to perfom it and she must dedicate it to Cannon. Or at least in my mind she will be singing it for Nick.

Walter A. (50,159) by Dennis from Miami, FL
Walter A. is the new judge in Russian X Factor. P.S. Mariah is suffering from [...] created by Tommy. I wonder how everything would turn out if she had freedom from the beginning.

Tom Jones had a revival after decades of Vegas "imprisonment". Sexbomb was after Vegas.

Covers (48,933) by Dennis from Miami, FL
I adore Mariah's version of You And I. I've listened to it hundreds of times. And it was not so long after the Glitter disaster. But she sounds perfect, all live. I like her voice on that version. Almost all range is covered. And when she sings last "You and I (ahahe)" it reminds me of I Will Always Love You. Every time I see this video I always look at Stevie, at his reaction, how he carefully listens to every note. Although I remember how Mary Ann Tatum said that he praised her after that performance, Mariah shines all the way through this performance. And Justin Timberlake is so fake at the beginning.

The 25th anniversary (48,931) by Dennis from Miami, FL
It would be quite expensive but spectacular for Mariah to feature holograms in her show. Let's say she can sing a duet with Whitney's hologram and ODB can rap on Fantasy. Or even with someone like Minnie, Ella, Marilyn, you name it. I remember Janet Jackson's MTV Legend show. She had dancers dressed as Janets of different eras with her on stage. I'd like to see Mariahs of all eras together. And I still hope for a George Michal duet.

The London Sessions (48,805) by Dennis from Miami, FL
I thing it's a very good album and I got it. But to me it sounds like a typical European album from the 90s. Mariah would not fit into this genre. What she needs is some more time to reflect on what's important. And I think she has a plan for 25th year anniversary (like an album or something). There were talks about George Michael duet in spring. Her dream collabo with Stevie Wonder must have been recorded during The Art Of Letting Go recording sessions. What do you thing about the chance of release of a duet album?

Signature song (48,633) by Dennis from Miami, FL
In my country many older people think that Without You is a Whitney's song. I remember many times hearing people arguing that Whitney covered it before Mariah. I consider My All her signature song, at least here. I had 3 Mariah's albums before My All. But after hearing that song on the radio I became a fan. These songs you would hear the most on the Easter European radio: My All, Without You, I Know What You Want, WBT.

Christmas shows (48,458) by Dennis from Miami, FL
I wonder if she will use any ideas from her Christmas themed musical project for Broadway during these shows. I think there were talks about making Merry Christmas into musical since early 2000s.

Looks like Lullaby is about Derek.

Baby / Subtle Invitaion (48,035) by Dennis from Miami, FL
She mentions AYNAF. It was written few years before Derek. I don't think it's only about Derek. It could be to all her past lovers collectively. I guess there is a little bit of Tommy, she still has some positive feelings towards him. Same as with Circles. It could be about Derek, however she met Tommy and Thalia during the final stage of the album recording. She gets inspired by some moments and feelings which evolve into song concepts. It could be not her own stories. She gets inspired by the movies or somebody else's stories. Just as she stated during Memoirs promotion.

Walter (47,884) by Dennis from Miami, FL
The essence of Walter is in this video. In the end he says in Russian "Don't show it to my wife."

MC was looking like Regina George in that Santa's little helper suit.

Jamaica's Jazz & Blues Festival (47,735) by Dennis from Miami, FL
Sounds perfect to me. I'm looking forward to hear Lullaby of Birdland, The Wind, Subtle Invitation, Vanishing. No wonder she agreed to participate.

Nothing to worry about (47,489) by Dennis from Miami, FL
I've watched the Chengdu show and I have not seen anything catastrophic. Arrangements are different from other tours. Most of the songs are definitely live.

Just a thought (47,488) by Dennis from Miami, FL
It looks really creepy when the dancers wheel out MC lying on that stage/bed during the shows. .
