Giving Me Life (87,446) by Dove from United States
I love every song on Caution and I'm glad she's doing something different. I feel like Caution fits well with what's popular today - low-key singing and simple melodies. Caution is the start of a new era for her (and us). It's an exciting time. In my opinion With You is an Underneath the Stars type of song, it's pretty, and we love it, but it's an album track. IMO Giving Me Life and One Mo' Gen would sound best on radio. I even think the With You video would have looked better with Giving Me Life. It's just a bigger song. The part where she's singing, "feeling myself like I'm Norma Jean" could be the part where she's lying on the ground under the stairs. The rap part could be when she's driving, she could be listening to it on the radio. The end part could be when she's outside (at the Griffith Observatory). That whole video fits better with GML, I think. I really loved her performance of The Distance in the short pink dress. (That style dress is super flattering on her. So is the color pink.) That could have been the video for The Distance and the giant pink dress with the men performance could have been the video for With You. I think it's beneficial to have some kind of visual for every song because sometimes songs aren't given a chance otherwise. We want to listen with our ears and our eyes. Also, make the visuals pleasant so that we'll want to watch over and over. She looks really pretty in the #Beautiful video but there is something off about it that makes it hard to watch repeatedly. Sometimes when I'm cleaning I just put a playlist of videos on and even though I'm not watching every second I do look up and if the video is good (or bad) it makes me associate the song with the video.

Tommy / Walter (87,187) by Dove from United States
Tommy and Thalia have said they're fans of Mariah. Even though I have accepted Mariah will never work with Walter again, I do miss the type of songs they made together. I've been listening to the original and So So Def versions of AIWFCIY a lot recently and even though the So So Def version is cool (and I like it) I prefer the accompaniment of the original version. I wouldn't want her to go back to doing just those types of songs because I want her to do what makes her happy. But for example when I listen to With You, I think about how it would sound with Walter accompaniment. I love that song but what makes it special is her voice because the background track is super basic. I don't think she's had the type of magic with anyone else she has worked with like she had with Walter. And the same goes for him.

Re: Glennis Grace sings Miss You Most beautifully (87,132) (87,134) by Dove from United States
That is a beautiful cover. I like it because she doesn't sound like Mariah but it still sounds good and she isn't straining to hit the notes. Jojo's cover is good too. I just watched a bunch of live performances by Glennis and you're right, she's amazing. I can't believe I've never heard of her before. I could hear hints of lots of icons in her voice: Whitney, Tina Turner, Selena. Color me impressed. How is she not super famous?

Regarding my last message (87,130) by Dove from United States
I was thinking about what I wrote and it's kinda mean. I'm not that person. If Ariana inspires young people like Mariah inspired me then good for her and her fans. She's not my cup of tea but people obviously love her so I take back my negativity and wish her prosperity and success.

Re: Ariana (87,120) (87,128) by Dove from United States
I thought about it and it's not insecurity. I was sharing an observation but honestly I don't think about Ariana that much. Usually only when she's trying to be Mariah. I honestly don't believe Ariana will have longevity because to me she's not that special. I think she has been successful so far because of her looks and because she was likeable on Nickoledeon. I don't even think Ariana is as good a singer as Aaliyah or Brandy or even Christina (who I'm not even a fan of) - much less Mariah. I'm not saying this because I'm a "hater" because there are other (some younger) artists who I do like - I like Loren Allred, Chevele (the country singer who just won The Voice), Tori Kelly, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Alessia Cara, Lauren Daigle, Adele, Kelly Clarkson. Just off the top of my head. I even think Victoria Justice could be a better star than Ariana (with the right songs) because she seems more mature and she's a better actress not to mention she's beautiful. I know that someday someone may come along who will have more success than Mariah. It would be nice if it were someone who was actually better than Mariah (in terms of singing, writing, videos, star power, intelligence, etc.) not just a random girl with a decent voice and a nice tan. That's all I have to say about that.

Wow, those performances are perfection. Kelly not only looks and sounds amazing but those sets are beautiful.

We Are Lambily (87,084) by Dove from United States
I loved Mariah's World too. I think one day we will all appreciate it more than we do now. It could have been better, but it is what it is, and I'm glad it exists. It's a little snapshot of her life at that point in time.

I agree with us older people (I'm 35) not knowing how to stream. I streamed the original AIWFCIY and So So Def versions continuously on my phone and computer, I bought those two versions on Google Play, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. I felt like I was doing a lot but our younger lambs have 50 tabs open streaming the song 24/7. That's way too much for me. It'll probably make my computer crash. There has to be a better way.

Ariana (87,082) by Dove from United States
I really want to like her but it does seem like she's trying to be Mariah and it's annoying. She has a nice voice, she should do her own thing and stop trying to one up Mariah. Mariah's whistles don't sound like Minnie Riperton she made them her own. Ariana's whistles are trying to sound like Mariah's. She's trying to take Mariah's place and it's annoying as hell. I've even seen interviews of her where she says exactly what Mariah has already said in past interviews. One example. I don't hate the girl, I used to watch her with my son on Victorious and I bought her first album and some songs off her second. Honestly I was rooting for her to succeed but started noticing the blatant copying and it turned me off to her. Also how she said Victoria Justice bullied her which I don't believe. That pretty much ruined Victoria's career before it started because Ariana was starting to get huge at the time. It's a shame because Victoria Justice had potential. Ariana just doesn't seem like a nice person. I think people behind the scenes are using her to take Mariah down like they used Jennifer Lopez (and others) and she's letting herself be used because she wants to be Mariah. But no one can take Mariah's place because she's the real thing, a flawless diamond when the others are just really good imitations.

Re: (87,064) Prayer for your gmom B (87,074) by Dove from United States
Sending prayers for your grandma. (This prayer is taken from book of prayers by Stormi Omartian.)

Lord, I pray that You will give B's grandma a strong heart that doesn't fail. When she is ill, I pray You will sustain her and heal her. Fill her with Your joy to give her strength. Give her faith to say, "O Lord my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me." Thank You, Lord, that You are her Healer. I pray that B's grandma will live a long and healthy life and when death does come, may it be accompanied by peace and not unbearable suffering and agony. Thank You, Lord, that You will be there to welcome her into Your presence, and not a moment before Your appointed hour. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

8th Grade (86,867) by Dove from United States
8th Grade reminds me of some of the people on this message board. Especially Andrew and Edward. Portrait too. If she was standing right next to you would you write the negative things you write "limitless with nothing to lose"?

A long time ago (2014/2015) when I used to frequent this message board a lot, either Andrew or Edward said something like, "the sun will rise tomorrow and Mariah will still be here" or something along those lines. I remember it because it was so well written and almost poetic. It was probably Andrew. (At me or someone else because we would get upset when anyone said anything too negative about MC.) That's what came to mind when I heard the line: "Yet I know that tomorrow comes, so I'll be here when you rise."

I had to come back and share my thought. I really think she or someone on her team has visited this site.

Re: feeding hungry kids (82,583) (82,586) by Dove from United States
I think some of the people on Fox News Channel, televangelist who spend millions of dollars on private jets, and some Christians who don't read their Bibles make all Christians look bad. I don't want to live in the world from A Handmaid's Tale either. I believe in loving people and to do that we must give everyone the free will to choose, just as God gave us.
The canaanite civilization was so totally corrupt that coexistence with them would have been a threat to the survival and spiritual welfare of the Hebrew nation. God is the one who gives life and he has the authority to take it away. In the new testament, when Jesus came to Earth, he taught us (in Romans 12) to live "peaceably with all men" and "Never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, 'I will take revenge; I will pay them back."
I do believe a wife should be respectful and submissive to her husband - but by choice not force. A marriage is a team and a team works better if there is a designated leader. This works if the husband also loves and respects God because if he does he will be kind, love his wife, treat her well, and not use his authority to opress her.
If you're talking about what it says in 1 Timothy, that was a letter given by Paul to Timothy - not to the church. In many other parts of the bible Paul supports leadership of women and equality. Which brings me (and many others) to believe that 1 Timothy was referring to something specific and not intended for the whole church.
The Bible's moral teachings are intended to help us live according to God's will, not condemn other people. Jesus taught us to eliminate the sin in our own lives rather than passing judgement or looking down on others and said that if we judge harshly we would also be judged harshly by him. We are all sinners and God loves all of us despite of that. If we think we are better or more Holy than those we consider to be "sinners" then we ourselves are guilty of the sin of self-righteousness. Jesus taught by word and example not to be self righteous or shun those we consider to be sinners. He also taught in (Romans 12) Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them.
I'll admit it is hard for me to not judge when I see evil in the world. Like when I hear about sex trafficking. Or I see people so hopped up on drugs that they don't have any kindness or compassion in them, not even for their own children. It's one thing (among many) I'm working on.
I see your point about her having tons of money and having the power to make a real change in the world. I have a feeling she does help financially. It takes a special person to be able to speak up and be a vocal social justice warrior, though. I wanted to be one when I was younger, my first degree was in social work. But I don't like to argue and I'm not really good at it. I have emotional intelligence but I don't have intelligence like yours where I can quickly come up with smart things to say. If I were to be a guest on Fox News they would eat me alive with their anger and the way they speak in circles. We all have different gifts.
My brother is the first gay person I ever met. He came out to me when I was in high school. He is the most beautiful spirit I have ever encountered in my life. There is no way he is wicked. He is kind and smart, like Mensa level smart; he lives his life in service to others. People have straight up been cruel and rude to him and he just forgives them. He's a way better person than me. The church's stance on homosexuality is the reason I left for so many years. I've only been back for a few. I have prayed and asked God to help me understand this but the only answer I've gotten is that my job is just to love people. So that's what I do. I am thankful I am free to worship the way I choose and I would never take that right away from anyone or try to impose my beliefs on anyone. I don't think sharing them right now is the same as imposing them.

Re: feeding hungry kids (82,579) (82,580) by Dove from United States
We don't know what she gives and doesn't give. We know she reads the Bible and in Matthew 6 it teaches about giving. It says to not tell everyone about the good deeds you do: "Watch out. Don't do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. When you give to someone in need, don't do as the hypocrites do - blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity. I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get. But when you give to someone in need, don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you."

Re: #Beautiful (82,552) (82,560) by Dove from United States
It would be cool if a remix of #Beautiful was made that sampled this song. A mashup type remix where it blends both songs to make one - duet style. Even though the song is not new anymore, it could still be done, and featured on a summer movie soundtrack.

The most beautiful queen in all the land (82,547) by Dove from United States
Just to be clear, I think Mariah is just as beautiful as Thalia when she tries. Like in the I Don't video. I even think Mariah is more beautiful than Jennifer Lopez but Jennifer always looks better because her hair and makeup and eyebrows are always on point. She's always in shape and the designers give her the better clothes. I know I'm sounding super shallow right now. I know people have more to offer than their physical appearance but I can appreciate beauty in human form. I won't pretend I don't notice pretty people, they are pleasing to look at. But if someone has a bad attitude it automatically makes them unattractive to me. And a good attitude and personality can transform the homeliest person into the most beautiful.

Thalia on Wendy Williams Show (82,542) by Dove from United States
I was watching Wendy Williams clips on YouTube today and came across a clip of Thalia who is Tommy Mottola's wife.
The other day when I was making my list of albums by year I had a bunch of Thalia's albums on my list but deleted them (because I didn't think I should mention her name on this board) but actually I am a big fan of hers. I was an even bigger fan before, when I was younger. My room back then was plastered with posters and pictures of her and Mariah Carey and Selena. Those were my top three. Thalia is not the greatest singer in the world but she is really likeable and I think she is so beautiful. Probably the most beautiful woman in the world, in my opinion. If I could look like any celebrity I would choose her. When I was little I used to watch her novelas with my grandma; my favorite was Marimar. I sang her songs at talent shows in elementary school. I wish I could have sung Mariah's songs but they were too hard for me and I sounded like a dying cow or Rihanna singing Hero.
I'm just saying this because I noticed Wendy was being super rude to her and everytime I see her on American TV shows the talk show hosts are always rude to her. I feel like it's because she's married to Tommy Mottola and people feel loyalty to Mariah - I know that's why I stopped being a hard core fan for a while. But Mariah left Tommy, it's not like Thalia stole him from her. Thalia was like 30 years old, already a huge star, and not employed by him. She seems happy to be married to him, maybe they have a better dynamic. My ex-husband treats his new wife way differently than he treated me according to our son. Maybe people learn something and try to be better, or maybe the dynamic is just different. I don't want to hide that I'm a Thalia fan anymore. She seems like a really sweet person and I don't like when interviewers are rude to her. In that clip she was promoting a Donna Summer play she's producing. I think all Mexicans love Donna Summer. I think it's because we love to dance.

Re: Poo Bear (82,536) (82,540) by Dove from United States
I just got done watching the documentary you suggested (Poo Bear - Afraid of Forever/Let It Play). I really like his spirit and he gives me a good vibe. He reminds me of Mariah, they even talk similarly. When he told J Balvin "Did you just break up in your relationship? I can feel your energy." I can relate to that because I feel people's energy too. I'm going to look up some of the songs he's worked on but as a person I like him. I'm excited for what's to come.

New album (82,528) by Dove from United States
I know Mariah's new album is going to be a love album because all of her albums seem to coincide with what's going on in my life, and right now I'm experiencing true love. Mariah I really wish you had a new album out for this era of my life. It's been since 2014. A short 2 minute 40 second waltz in 3/4 time I can dance to at my wedding would be great - if we're taking requests.
