Letterman interview (43,344) by Martyn from England, UK
I hate to be a buzzkill Betty, but what a disappointment. Covered the same old topics and then before you knew it she was gone. Her Letterman interviews are really good, but 8 minutes? Barely worth it.

Wonderland Magazine (43,318) by Martyn from England, UK
Finally managed to get my hands on a copy of Wonderland Magazine today after hunting everywhere since Friday. I would highly recommend buying it, the photos are fantastic (Dem Babies feature in one) and I know not many people approve of Terry Richardson or Mariah's scantily clad nature, but I personally think they're fabulous. Also, each page/article in the magazine is named after a Mariah song title or lyrics which is pretty cool. The interview doesn't really tell us anything new, but it's quite nice nevertheless. Only thing I'm angry about is that they've listed the (not so new anymore) new single as "Always Mine (Eternal)" instead of "You're Mine (Eternal)". I imagine a sub editor somewhere has had a very stern ticking off from Mariah's team.

JD interview (42,859) by Martyn from England, UK
Absolutely crying at the girl who wanders on at 2:23 with a sign saying "Phredley Brown" hahaha. So random. Also, I don't think JD is denying that You're Mine was a single, I think he was getting confused. He says there was only 1 other single apart from #Beautiful, and I think the song he's actually referring to is Art Of Letting Go, he's just getting his dates mixed up.

Sorry I forgot to say, my friend works for Digital Spy and was sent the release.

Press release (42,789) by Martyn from England, UK
Mariah's PR sent out a press release today saying the album is definitely coming out in May (although no date specified) and added that Mariah wants to "surprise" her fans. I hope this doesn't mean an awkward copycat Beyoncé strategy. It won't work for Mariah. Unfortunately, as sad as it is, her name doesn't have the same selling power.

Thumbs down (42,654) by Martyn from England, UK
I'm so glad the thumbs down option has been removed. I stopped posting because I'm too sensitive to deal with the negativity. I don't like it when lambs argue. We get enough hassle from non Mariah fans, we should all stick together. (I feel like the rainbow cake girl at the end of Mean Girls.)

Album title (42,604) by Martyn from England, UK
If the album is called "Journey Of Empress Mermaid", I'm jumping off a bridge.

Mariah in person (42,268) by Martyn from England, UK
Interesting question. I've been lucky enough to meet Mariah in person and I just remember being surprised at how tiny she was (in weight, I mean). The media always make it out as though she's "fat" or "chubby", when in fact, she has an incredibly small waist. But the main thing I noticed is how warm and wonderful she was, and how much time she made for the fans. She signed my t-shirt and had a little chat with me, and although I found it difficult to respond because I was shaking so much, she was just incredible. So genuine and sweet.

Rumoured tracklisting (41,309) by Martyn from England, UK
Remember back in August there was a 'leaked' track-listing of The Art Of Letting Go? I've just noticed it has "You're Mine" on it. It may have been real after all. Although it probably has changed by now.

Mariah's behaviour (41,267) by Martyn from England, UK
All I want is for Mariah to just give a serious interview about the new single/album/music instead of all this ridiculous "splash" drinking, Nicki Minaj (and Nick)-bashing and going on tangents. Don't get me wrong, I love me some diva Mariah, and she throws shade like no other, but it's nice to have a balance. The scales have tipped too far in one direction for my liking. When I think about some of the insightful interviews she gave about her music in the Butterfly era it makes me want to weep.

Music video for new single (41,078) by Martyn from England, UK
The styling in Mariah's new avatars/banners for Facebook and Twitter is very similar to her hair/clothing at the BET performance. This makes me think that the music video may already have been shot and follows a similar theme. I hope so, I'm craving a new Mariah visual, and she looked stunning at the awards, even if it was a little low cut!

MDJ (41,065) by Martyn from England, UK
I'm so sad to see MDJ close down, and I just hope that they at least keep it online as an archive of sorts, but I agree, this site is much better. I'd rather read all Mariah news, be it good or bad. MDJ became more and more like the official Mariah website towards the end. I'd be interested to know why it closed down, Johnny's statement doesn't give much away. And as for Lynn, yes, I had an altercation with her - as did many!

14th February release date (40,927) by Martyn from England, UK
At risk of sounding like a negative Nelly, is anybody else sceptical that the new single is actually coming on February 14th? There's been no news for a while, there's no planned TV interviews or performances, and the Showbiz 411 reporter said Mariah has an "announcement" coming on February 14th, which isn't really the same as a new single. Also, is February 14th even on the day that singles get released in America? Don't you guys release things on Thursdays?

UK lambs (40,634) by Martyn from England, UK
I like that nobody seems to like Mariah over here. It makes her special. It makes her mine. Muahahaha.

New single strategy (40,574) by Martyn from England, UK
So we're going to hear Mariah's new song on Valentine's Day. What do we think the strategy will be for this release? The Art Of Letting Go Facebook release didn't really work, and I'm not sure Mariah has the momentum behind her at the moment to release a single straight away and have it chart highly. Do we think Mariah is going to premiere the song and then promo it before its official release, or do we think it will literally be released on V-day, the day we hear it? Or will there perhaps be some promo before V-day and then release it on V-day? What does everybody think the best strategy would be?

Anastacia and Mariah (40,500) by Martyn from England, UK
I was just sat at home having a late 90s early 2000s night with my boyfriend when we rediscovered Anastacia. I decided to Google her to see if she'd ever said anything nice about Mariah. Turns out that Mariah is a fan of her music and they got on really well when they met ("What More Can I Give" - sang on stage together with MJ etc.). Then it transpired that there were plans for them to do a duet, and there's even a quote from Anastacia saying Mariah was up for it. I believe this was shortly after Glitter. Does anybody know what happened with this? Has Mariah ever said anything about it?

Isaac Ortiz from the USA / snippets (40,484) by Martyn from England, UK
Whatever you've heard on YouTube, it won't be from the new album. I imagine it'll be the usual Pepsi ringtones put into one video with a title pretending it's "[...] HQ" or something like that.

Mariah's mental state (40,318) by Martyn from England, UK
I have to agree. Something doesn't seem quite right at the moment. Mariah seems preoccupied/confused. I think there's stuff going on behind the scenes (at the label) that we don't know about. I'm just glad she has Nick and the twins. I really hope she's okay.

The interview (40,283) by Martyn from England, UK
Did the "if this were to be my last album" comment strike fear in anybody else's heart? I really hope she was being hypothetical.

What did Mariah say? (40,115) by Martyn from England, UK
I've seen a lot of people say that Mariah made a comment after the performance, but I can't make out what she says from the YouTube clip. Can somebody transcribe for me?

Mariah's personal meaning (39,773) by Martyn from England, UK
I know Mariah has said she wants this song to mean whatever it means to the listener, but she's also said it's a very personal song to her. What do people think her interpretation is? I have two theories.
1) Letting go of trying to achieve chart success. Moving from trying to please the masses to making music that's right for her personally. The bit about erasing Mimi from a phone book (the line she pointed out as a prominent one with meaning behind it) could be her letting go of the Emancipation era that seems to have plagued her since in terms of expectation. I also wonder whether the part about reuniting could be related to Walter?
2) The song could be about Tommy? I know the conspiracists think there's a lot of behind the scenes sabotage that still goes on with Tommy and/or his people. If this were true, the lyrics would be incredibly fitting.
Or perhaps it's just a good old fashioned Mariah heartbreak song written on behalf of a fictional protagonist. What does everyone else think?

The Trouble With Love Is (39,745) by Martyn from England, UK
Jamie, that's so funny you should say that, it was the first thing I thought when I heard it! I love that song. I also, dare I say it, think it sounds slightly similar to Christina Aguilera's "You Lost Me". As for the song, I'd love it as an album track, but I just don't think it's single material.

Q&A on 11/11 - Walter (39,671) by Martyn from England, UK
I really hope lots of people ask her about Walter in the Q&A. She's never ruled out working with him again, and it'd be nice to see if it's even a consideration of hers given that Walter spoke about it so recently. It'll certainly be the question I ask anyway!
