About B from USA: Slowly but surely®™ The Vindication of B ®™

Bye, Bye (58,903) by B from USA
Why Bye, Bye was chosen as the second single is mind boggling. A poor decision. Had any of the midtempo/uptempo songs been chosen as the second single Mariah would have scored another #1. The ballads on E=MC2 were weak with the exception of Thanx 4 Nothin, For The Record, and I Wish You Well. I'm thrilled Mariah is working with Warren. She needs a ballad that isn't another We Belong Together retread.

Re: Vegas run (58,895) (58,901) by B from USA
I always viewed her residency as temporary. If she decides to extend the residency or not really doesn't matter. She succeed and proved she still had it. I don't think she intended to do a residency like Celine's or Britney's. If she had she would have went with a venue that doesn't already have a rooster of rotating talent.

Side Effects is my favorite song for E=MC2. I think it's one of her best songs. I rank it with Butterfly, The Roof and Breakdown.

I agree with what you said about H.A.T.E.U. It had potential, especially JD's remix. I've always loved I'm That Chick. I think it should have been a single. Mariah's problem isn't the material, it's the way the material is presented. She needs classy yet sexy videos like The Roof.

Outside. Oops forgot one, lol. I would also add Breakdown and Circles. I had recently broke up with my ex. I was at a store with my brother and his friend (the love of my life) when my ex walked in with someone new and like Mariah sang I turned my head. Saying to myself don't you let them see you cry and turned my head as the tears rolled down my eyes. I literally heard Mariah singing Circles. Her music is the soundtrack of/to my life.

Just To Hold You Once Again, One Sweet Day, Forever, Close My Eyes, Petals, Never Too Far, My Saving Grace, We Belong Together, Fly Like A Bird, Side Effects, Languishing, Cry., and Camouflage. Mariah has a song for every emotion. When I'm mad I listen to Did I Do That, Thirsty, and You Had Your Chance.

Re: Celine's Rockefeller moment (58,863) (58,867) by B from USA
Celine Dion's performance proved she lips which some commenters claim she doesn't. Same for Adele, she lips. Her remarkable return to the stage at the Grammy's was lipped, she had vocal issues.

Re: Reinvention (58,813) (58,834) by B from USA
Predictability isn't a bad thing. Adele's latest album was/is predictable. Mariah's MIAMTEC wasn't predictable. Opening an album with Cry. is hardly predictable. She has access to unreleased songs recorded during her Columbia/Sony years and I'm sure she's still capable of writing another #1 song. I want another Butterfly with songs like Butterfly, The Roof, Breakdown, Close My Eyes, and Outside. I want well written songs and amazing videos. E=MC2 and Memoirs failed because of IDJ's single choices MIAM failed because of the multiple delays and Mariah abandoning the project because of personal and professional issues at the time.

Re: Will from the UK and Adele's success (58,831) (58,833) by B from USA
Adele doesn't write as well as Mariah and she definitely can't sing as well as Mariah did and does.

Re: Adele and MC (58,808) (58,819) by B from USA
Tevin, I like When We Were Young but I think Hello is a stronger song/single. I enjoy the album but I think her last album was superior.

Re: 2015: A year in review (58,815) (58,816) by B from USA
Seeing Mariah Carey in Las Vegas as the highlight of my year. My wish for the new year is a new album or song from Mariah. I want new music. I'm still listening to and enjoying MIAMTEC. MIAM is a classic.

Marissa, my favorite Mariah moment (moments) of 2015 were attending the second night of her Las Vegas residency and being in the video for Infinity directed by Brett.

Mariah was the first artist to perform on a stage right in the middle of Times Square on New Year's Eve. Happy New Years. Love you, appreciate you, and enjoy ya.

Re: What does Adele's success mean for Mariah? (58,747) (58,779) by B from USA
Adele's success is amazing considering the material lacks any personality or originality. I like Hello and When We Were Young but these songs are interchangeable. Am I the only one who isn't impressed by her newest album?

Re: Superstar (58,735) (58,754) by B from USA
Mariah doesn't have to work with Calvin. She could work with an unknown up and coming producer. She needs a song that isn't playing like Your Girl.

Re: What does Adele's success mean for Mariah? (58,747) (58,752) by B from USA
I think she'll do both. She'll record ballads and R&B Hip-hop songs 50/50. I just want well written lyrics and impassioned vocals with amazing videos and a killer promo plan.

Wasn't Meteorite produced by Q-Tip and tweaked JD?

Re: Superstar (58,728) (58,735) by B from USA
I've suggested multiple times that she should work with Calvin. I would love a song like Meteorite with Mariah singing like it's 1991. Like when she said she woke David Cole up when recording Make It Happen. He really did bring out her best vocal performances. She looks like a gold goddess in that hot tub. She's ready to reclaim her throne.

Re: AIWFCIY #11 on Billboard Hot 100 (58,729) (58,732) by B from USA
I wish it had cracked the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10. However, #11 ain't bad for a song that was released in 1994, twenty one years ago. I think AIWFCIY is Mariah's signature song. I think the positive press from her Las Vegas residency and her annual Beacon concerts added to the momentum but the song is a timeless classic that is engrained in our culture. It isn't Christmas until you hear those sleigh bells and Mariah angelic vocals.

Mariah the immortal chanteuse (58,731) by B from USA
Mariah Carey's list is short: all she wants is immortality

Re: Superstar (58,714) (58,718) by B from USA
I hope her work with Calvin is similar to her work with C+C Music Factory. I didn't mean Adele records EDM music just that I hope Adele's success inspires Mariah to write straightforward ballads with big chorus.

Re: Superstar (58,705) (58,714) by B from USA
I hope this is true. Rhianna, Beyonce, and The Weekend have all incorporated EDM into their music, a hybrid of EDM and R&B. I also hope she's working with Miguel Frank Ocean and Happy Perez. She needs to update her signature sound by working with the moment producers without selling out like her peers. She needs to stay true to who she is and experiment a little. Adele's success proves a well written song can succeed.

Re: Side B, unreleased, never finished tracks (58,671) (58,672) by B from USA
Thanks for sharing, Giles. I would love to hear Reach For The Sky and The Crave Song. That snippet of We're Not Making Love Anymore is amazing. Hopefully, these songs are released someday. I didn't know Mariah bought her masters in 2005, if she did that was a smart business decision
