Mariah (50,303) by B from USA
Mariah needs to use the media training she received during her early days at Sony under those brilliant execs that guided her to glory from the start. You know how to play this game and how to lip sync. Stop the self sabotage. I love you. I'm your biggest fan. Your music is the soundtrack to my life and I'm coming to see you in Vegas. You know she's a member on this board or someone on her team is.

Mariah Carey (50,302) by B from USA
Mariah Carey's music is better than Beyoncé's and Lady GaGa's and Ariana Grande's. She has the best voice even in its current shape/condition. She's a living legend, these missteps are not going to tarnish her legacy. She's human. Her husband cheated on her. Emotions affect the voice. Show some respect.

Ideas (50,283) by B from USA
Mariah needs to rehire the trainer that got her in shape for E=MC2 and needs to work with a vocal coach. Her mother would be my pick because she's not going to go running to the tabloids looking for a paid day by discussing what state Mariah's voice is in or how bad the damage really is.

Mariah (50,282) by B from USA
Mariah can score another #1. She just needs to write simple catchy lyrics without references. She also needs to embrace EDM and new producers. Working with JD and Big Jim are not going to get her back on top. She needs to work on her attitude, body, and style. She needs to hire a stylist that can transform her into a fashion icon. Fashion now plays a huge part in the music industry, look at Kanye and Rhianna. Mariah stop with the pop culture references and slang lyrics, they make you look desperate to remain relevant.

Memoirs and Lee (50,269) by B from USA
I remember buying Fantasy the day it was released and being in rapture when it debuted at #1. Then buying the album and follow up singles and requesting them nonstop. Mariah spent six months at #1 with the singles from Daydream, that is an amazing thing, half a year at #1. I feel that Memoirs was rushed because they knew that Obsessed was a hit. I know it was delayed once or twice but I don't think the material was changed or rearranged. I think Mariah needs to regroup and find some new producers that can provide her with beats that are fire and inspire her to write songs that are undeniable and catchy.

#1's (50,268) by B from USA
#1's needs a classic Carey ballad. Simple and elegant. No attempts at being trendy or of the moment. She needs the producers that Miguel and Frank Ocean work with. It needs a strong verse, chorus, verse structure that is easily followed and an EDM/disco vocal showcase. I would love for her to rerecord Meteorite with Mark Ronson or Calvin Harris tweaking the original. I want Mariah to hold the record for most #1's. She's still relevant. I think if she wasn't the media wouldn't be all up in her business. She's the last diva standing and she needs to remind the public that she is Mariah Carey, that underneath all that glitters is gold.

The Inquistir (50,254) by B from USA
Can anyone write for this publication? Madonna could teach Mariah how to sing? Really? Seriously? I can't, lol. Ariana is praised and I quote for stealing the life force from Mimi.

Vocal inconsitiences (50,221) by B from USA
I agree Mariah's voice is inconsistent. I don't think it's from drinking or doing drugs but from not rehearsing. The vocal cords are like muscles, they need to be exercised and stretched and warmed up to work properly. She needs to retrain her voice because all eyes and ears will be on her for the opening night of her residency, especially after the Rockefeller and Jamaica Jazz debacles.

My opinion (50,211) by B from USA
After critics questioned whether Carey would embark on a world tour to promote her material she explained that stage fright and the style of her songs made a tour very daunting. When I read comments and articles about Mariah's recent performances I think of the quote above. She's Mariah Carey. She is The Voice. I'm looking forward to her Las Vegas residency and the reissue of #1's. Her voice is fragile but when rested and rehearsed she can still slay.

Mimi (50,108) by B from USA
I meant that as Rhianna working with him. She knows that he has a very huge and loyal fan base. I think the song sucks and I don't see it becoming a #1 so I'm not worried about it. I typed that message in a hurry but then the comments that followed inspired a wide range of emotions in me and I really am considering only coming here for news. Ive been visiting daily since the site launched.

Andrew, darling (50,104) by B from USA
The Grammy's didn't want to be associated with Mariah? That comment is absurd. I fully understand why E=MC2 and Memoirs weren't nominated because the material didn't warrant a nomination but MIAMTEC did. It received some of the best reviews of her career. Think what you want but I suggest you read all articles before Touch My Body broke The King's record and after. Enlighten yourself before claiming the bleating of the lambs has started. I need to clarify something. I don't think he wants her to top MC. I think the industry and media in general want to see her dethroned or at the very least tied. She was knocked off her pedestal before and look what happened, she came back with an album loaded with songs that couldn't be denied and promoted that album like her life depended on it.

Andrew (50,101) by B from USA
I spent the day reading articles before the release of Touch My Body and after and came to my conclusion. Paul wants to keep that record as badly as Mariah wants to best it. Your post are the ones I skip because you are always the negative Nancy. Everything she does or releases isn't up to your standards, ever.

Hello (50,098) by B from USA
If that song goes to #1 he also gets another #1 as a songwriter. He holds that title. I did my research, a lot of these blogs and so called media outlets only report the negative when it comes to Mariah. I'm sure she does a lot of things that could come off as arrogant but who doesn't in this industry?

Media, Mariah, and the truth (50,085) by B from USA
The truth is the media has turned against Mariah. Is it sexism or ageism? Or is it that they don't want her to best The Beatles? I'm not sure but something is amiss. Mariah Carey has never been the best live performer nor has she ever claimed to be but the media has spent the last six years constantly dwelling on whatever mistakes she makes. Seems like there is an agenda against Mariah. I'm not being delusional. How convenient is it that Paul McCartney, a Beatle, has teamed with Rhianna who is determined to best Mariah?

Quality (50,082) by B from USA
Memoirs was repeative and like E=MC2 the lyrics were too cliched and a little weak (Love Story). Mariah delievered musically with MIAMTEC. It was a fine return to form but the rollout was messy. With the right song/single Mariah can easily redeem herself. I haven't listened to Heavenly since the album was released but I don't think any of the notes are computerized or autotuned. Mariah Carey is an institution. If she wasn't capable of greatness her fans and the media wouldn't expect it from her. She needs to work with the producers that Migue l and Frank Ocean work with. Mark Ronson and Calvin Harris need to be called for her next singles. Rhianna and Katy aren't capable of greatness.

Mariah Carey (50,054) by B from USA
Mariah Carey needs a stylist like Rachel Zoe or Eric Daman. She needs a manager like Benny. She needs a team like she had in the 90's. If she makes these changes and works with the producers of the moment she'll easily regain her throne. Her last divorce inspired Butterfly and I don't think she loved Tommy and they didn't have children. I'm dying to hear her next studio album. It's going to be epic. You can quote me on that if you want.

Aretha (50,049) by B from USA
Aretha was Whitney's God mother or whatever and was so insecure that she was rude to her during a recording session or so the story goes. My point is Mariah has never disrespected an artist like Aretha did and does. With the exception of Madonna, who asked for it. I don't get the hype surrounding Aretha. She has a powerful from the gut style of singing but her voice isn't as good or better than Patti's, Whitney's, or Mariah's. Mariah does embrace females. She just gave Fifth Harmony a shout out on Twitter and she praises Bey. I don't blame her for throwing shade Ariana's way when her whole career is built on being the next or new Mariah when she's clearly not. When I think of a great singer I think of Mariah, Whitney, Patti, Luther, and Bob Dylan. Mariah Carey is untouchable in the studio.

MC (50,031) by B from USA
I'll continue to support Mariah Carey because she's earned my loyalty. I'm taking my little cousin to Las Vegas to see Mariah and she's just as excited as I am. Mariah Carey is still relevant because of her talent. If she was only the voice her career would have tanked just like Whitney's and Celine's.

RihRih (50,030) by B from USA
She may break Mariah's record of most #1's but she'll never beak Mariah's records for female songwriter and producer with the most #1's. After the fuss the media made about MC, who has talent, breaking the King's record do you really think those old men are going to let an auto-tuned sexbot like Rhianna who is still young and using it as her key marketing tactic do the same?

All things considered (50,007) by B from USA
Mariah's marriage was imploding while she was working on MIAMTEC. The lyrics are the writing on the wall. I think she postponed the album because of her issues with Nick. Her confidence was shaken by his betrayal. Her voice continued to improve as the Chanteuse tour went on and then she nailed her Beacon shows. The only really bad performance was Rockefeller. She was lipping at Jamacia Jazz so we don't know what state her voice is in at the moment.

Meteorite (49,994) by B from USA
If Mariah had released Meteorite with remixes by Calvin Harris and David Morales with resung vocals and a video by a big name director she would have scored a huge hit. She still could if she decided to rerecord it with Calvin Harris and release it as a single to promote the reissue of #1's and MIAMTEC at the same time. She is still a genius songwriter and vocalist. She's just not comfortable on stage and it's obvious. Her nerves are bound to affect her voice. She still slays everyone in the studio. Her harmonies and background vocals are two of the things I look forward to everytime she releases a song or album.

The Grammy's (49,993) by B from USA
The fact that Mariah Carey has never won Record, Song, or Album of the Year is insane. The Grammy's failed to nominate Mariah Carey's latest album Me. I am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse which was praised by critics. MIAMTEC should have won Best Pop Vocal Album because she is The Voice. Beyonce won. Best R&B Song for Drunk In Love? Seriously? The disrespect was palpable in 2006. The show was promoted with the headline Comeback Queen Mariah Carey leads with 8 nominations and then they give her her awards off camera? #Beautiful with Miguel was huge. It sold over a million copies and deserved a nomination. I haven't watched since 06 and won't unti the rectify their blantant discrimination against MC proably stemming from her marriage to Tommy.

#1's (49,930) by B from USA
I think Mariah should keep her onstage banter short and sweet. An example before Fantasy she could say this song was inspired by The Tom Tom Club's Genius Of Love and sing the first verse chorus and bridge and move on. It would make such a daunting show easier vocally. She needs a stylist and manager asap. Just some idea.

Question (49,922) by B from USA
Isn't Nick's favorite song by Mariah Fantasy? Maybe that's why she was having such a hard time?.

Mariah (49,886) by B from USA
I do not believe Mariah ruined her voice by using drugs or alcohol. Her voice was strained from the relentless recording and promoting she did in the 90's. When rested and exercised she can still deliver live vocally. The Fantasy lip sync debacle is forgivable because she sounded solid during her other performances adlibbing to make sure we knew she was singing live. If she sang Fantasy live it would ruin her voice. Calm down. I'm ashamed to be a member of this board.
