An Andy?

Too much plastic surgery (bad plastic surgery). Mariah looks half her age whereas Madonna looks her age. When was the last time Mariah wore a bikini on stage?

Does Mariah showing skin upset you?

Re: Madonna's BBMA performance (89,487) (89,493) by B from USA
I still believe Everything is Love is underwhelming (and 4, Beyoncé, and Lemonade) but it's a joint album by two of the biggest stars in the world.

Re: Madonna's BBMA performance (89,487) (89,492) by B from USA
This was the point of my message: A joint album by two of the biggest stars in the world has only sold 500,000 copies in the US and we're complaning about an artist selling 92,000 copies of an album released 28 years into her career.

Re: Madonna's BBMA performance (89,481) (89,485) by B from USA
I'm dead. I found Madonna's performance underwhelming. I can't believe she spent seven million dollars of her own money on it. Guess it proves that she does indeed spend her own money on her videos in addition to the budget the label gives her.

I think Mariah's Billboard performance, flaws and all, will humanize her to the public like her coming forward with her struggle with bipolar II disorder. If she had given an amazing performance, like she does when performing for her fans, they would've claimed she lip synced. I still believe Mariah will make another comeback.

Madonna is following Mariah's lead with the roll-out of her new album and her upcoming tour. Like Mariah, Madonna is releasing four teaser singles before the release of her new album and she's embarking on a theater tour. Guess Mariah's Caution is indeed the new blueprint for aging legacy acts.

Caution has now sold over 92,000 copies in the US and 240,000 copies worldwide. Not too shabby when you consider Beyonce and Jay-Z's Everything is Love has sold 500,000 copies in the US and 2 million unit equivalents worldwide.

Re: BMA vocal analysis (89,459) (89,464) by B from USA
Because she's always suffered from stage fright. She's never been a performer like Whitney or Celine.

Just like Mariah, herself.

Re: Groan (89,349) (89,375) by B from USA
I think Medellin is boring. I've read several industry articles about how it's a flop on iTunes and Spotify. If Mariah had released Medellin I would've been severely disappointed and I would not waste my time defending it. Instead I would be praying that the rest of the album isn't as bad as the lead single. Madonna's fans support her, even when the material doesn't warrant it, unlike Mariah's fans who do not support her and complain about everything she does. To clarify, I don't hate Madonna I just haven't liked any of her albums since Confessions on a Dance Floor. By the way, I hated Triumphant and never defended it.

Why are you so obsessed with me? What have I said that is disingenuous, purposely manipulative, or intentionally untrue?

Re: (89,360) (89,367) by B from USA
Mariah's promotue [sic] performances at the Carlyle Jazz Club and several of her songs (The Wind, anyone?) prove she can do jazz. Mariah's versatility as an artist and a singer could easily allow her to
successfully crossover into any genre.

Re: (89,358) (89,366) by B from USA
Even if she is 52 when she releases her next album, she'll look half her age. However I, don't think we'll have to wait another 4 years for a new album.

I prefer the Angel The Prelude to Angels Cry. It's hauntingly beautiful.

Re: (89,358) (89,361) by B from USA
Mariah doesn't and never has had a "street diva" persona. Why are you mad at her for working with the best producers in the game at the moment? By the way, Giving Me Life features a guitar solo.

Re: Collaborations (89,338) (89,353) by B from USA
I've been begging for Mariah to collaborate with Bruno Mars since I heard When I Was Your Man. Maybe The Stereotypes can make it happen since they've worked with Mariah and Bruno.

Re: "Remixes" that are better than the original (89,342) (89,350) by B from USA
The Thank God I Found You (Make It Last Remix) ft. Joe and Nas is better than the original. I wouldn't go as far as saying the My All/Stay Awhile Remix is better than the original but it's just as good in my opinion as is the Classic Club Mix.

Agreed. The Mo' Thugs Remix of Breakdown and the Mobb Deep Extended Version Remix of The Roof take both songs to another level. I mean, come on as Mariah would say. Both songs are enhanced by having hip-hop legends Bone Thugs and Harmony and Mobb Deep on them.

Re: Groan (89,317) (89,334) by B from USA
Medellin is a flop. It dropped off the iTunes Chart after just five days and is not being streamed on Spotify or other streaming services. Madonna’s last several albums were all flops and if you honestly don't think Madonna would spend her own money on a video you clearly don't know anything about her.

Re: The voices Mariah and Whitney (89,299) (89,324) by B from USA
Why hasn't Mariah's debut album, which was certified nine-times platinum by the RIAA on December 15, 1999, been certified diamond? Surely, it has sold (amassed?) enough album-equivalent units (via streams, downloads, and sales) over the last ten yeara to warrant it.

Re: Groan (89,317) (89,319) by B from USA
I guess they would even after her last three albums underperformed because of how much money her tours gross. However, it isn't uncommon for artist to use their own money on videos.

Re: Caution - now that we've had some time (89,304) (89,315) by B from USA
Caution is a perfect pop song. It's seductive and has a chorus that sticks with you. Caution is a perfect pop song. It has a chorus that sticks with the listener. I think it should be the next single and if Mariah's team is smart they'd call up Drake for a remix.

This excerpt from Est. 1997 sums up why Caution should be the next single. One might assume that "Caution", the album's title track, would be a sassy showcase of braggadocio, but in fact it is an introspective, self-aware love song with an ominous ambiance. With a seductive yet haunting beat and pristine vocals, it immediately engages the listener. The song has clear tropical influences allowing it to sound current without overdoing it to sound trendy, a line Mariah has always been able to tread well.

Her buttery vocals effortlessly slide atop the slick and cutting No I.D. produced beat. Its chorus might just be the best on the album, it just sticks. "Caution" is fresh, yet reminiscent of late 90s and early 2000s R&B such as Brandy's Never Say Never (1998) and Aaliyah's self-titled final album (2001), which is also probably why it sounds like something Drake would cook up. Without any specific promotion, the song has managed to become one of the album's most streamed tracks, speaking volumes to its sheer greatness.
