About Billy from Greece: I don't know, and neither do you.

Interview - help (72,871) by Billy from Greece
Does anyone remember which is the interview where MC talks about "middle America" sort of being shocked by the Honey remix video, seeing her sitting on Mase's lap? Thanks.

The Roof (Full Crew Club Remix) (72,863) by Billy from Greece
Does anyone remember this mix? Pretty hot.

"I Don't" Jimmy Kimmel (72,731) by Billy from Greece
She was wonderful, especially considering that it was the first major live performance after New Year's. I loved the way she sounded on the verses, her darker and huskier tone truly on display, and she was in control of her voice. Some nervousness did come across, mainly because of the super tight dress I think which barely allowed her to move. There was some backing track on the first part of the chorus, but she seemed well-rehearsed and determined and thankfully it is a song that she can support live, and she proved it. Also, although I'm not sure if it comes across from TV performances, but the whole MC band is really on point, which I witnessed first hand in the SSFT, and the background singers always have specific little dance routines for every song, adding to an overall "tight" band. Yay MC "I Don't" live. It sounds better than I expected.

"Mariah's un-shadiest moment" (72,701) by Billy from Greece
This is for those who lately seem to reiterate the popular opinion that MC is a mean bitch, who is so insecure that she'll shade people for no reason. Girlfriend is just keeping it real.

Memoirs era interview (72,562) by Billy from Greece
It really tickles me the wrong way to think that "Memoirs" was quite some time ago at this point. I just can't with how quickly time goes by, I just can't. I remember catching MC on the Alan Carr show on TV in my hotel room in the UK when the show first aired, which was either before or after the Westfield London event where I met her (yes, I'm repeating myself, I know). Anyway, rewatching this interview is so much fun. There's something so easygoing and playful about her during that era. Has it been almost eight years since "Memoirs"? Lord help me.

"The Roof" video (72,525) by Billy from Greece
Mariah all wet, on top of the limo, in that rainy urban background, might as well be the best visual of any of her videos ever.

"Dedicated" / Wu-Tang Clan 1993 (72,524) by Billy from Greece
I need a hip-hop connoisseur here. So, "Dedicated" samples Wu-Tang Clan's "Da Mystery of Chessboxin" which came out in 1993. The latter song contains the lyric "rap styles vary, and carry like Mariah", part of which was interpolated in "Dedicated". My question: did Wu-Tang simply namedrop Mariah in "Da Mystery", or does this "Mariah" have another reference/connotation?

"Lilie's Blues" (72,395) by Billy from Greece
What a beautiful song and boy would MC sound amazing singing it today.

"I Don't" (72,095) by Billy from Greece
Though the song's main appeal stems from the Donell Jones sample (which is also its main melodic hook), I have to admit that it is unpredictably addictive and I keep pushing the repeat button. The beat is cool and deep, very vibey. The rap I could do without, though it is so bad it kinda sticks with you too. The video is a total whatever-fest, though that last scene by the fire brings in mind Diana Ross's "Swept Away" (which is also a total camp fest) and it is sort of vamp, in lack of a better word. I'm just going to listen to the song for the fifth time now, ok?

Re: MW sneak peaks (71,636) (71,647) by Billy from Greece
"So corny and cheesy and using one of Mariah's most personal and beautiful songs for this mess? The level of disrespect." My thoughts exactly.

Great interview / early 2010s (71,606) by Billy from Greece
Remember this? Just under a year after she had given birth I think. She's so sweet here. Not sure the Toure guy is very much of a fan, but you can she sort of won him over with her personality.

Re: Magazine scans - help (71,467) (71,469) by Billy from Greece
Wow, thank you so much for that. I had no idea about it. Unfortunately, apart from the cover of the magazine, none of the other scans could be retrieved. With other magazines it works, though. I just need to have the specific ones, their page numbers and publication details for citation purposes. So close.

Magazine scans - help (71,463) by Billy from Greece
Does anyone have the scans from the actual magazines from Mariah's cover stories in Essence (2005) and America (2005)? And is anyone willing to send them to me via email? Mariahdaily used to have all the scans but the site has been defunct for a while. Thanks.

Re: MW Ep 6 - Hero (71,380) (71,384) by Billy from Greece
Strangely enough, the performance of "Hero" that they showed was not from the concert in Paris, but from an earlier date in the UK, judging from the hair. Also, it would make more sense to show the actual tribute to Prince, that is, "One Sweet Day", since including "Hero" made it seem as if that was the song dedicated to him, but anyway, she looked and sounded great at least. Finally, I can't stress enough how utterly disgusting was the way that twelve year old was talking to Mariah and the fully unlikable character that she exuded, and I don't care at all if she is twelve or whatever. Similarly vomiting was the mother's insistence when talking to Anthony that they know what they are doing. I think that the guys from the Mariah Report on Facebook put it best when they said that clearly that woman (and her offspring, obviously) has no idea who she is actually managing and what that person's image actually consists of. On a more positive note, I am happy that the professional footage that they show from the concert has mostly her live vocals, which sound excellent, just as I witnessed them on the tour.

Pamela Anderson / background vocals (70,244) by Billy from Greece
So, apparently Pamela Anderson did some background "hollering" parts on "Loverboy" probably. Here's what she says.

Re: Lionel Richie on Facebook fans attack Mariah (70,168) (70,174) by Billy from Greece
Also, if we take a closer at the comments we'll see that most of the hate comes from middle-aged, middle-class female fans of Mr Ritchie, if that is any indication of anything.

Re: Mariah's SHM-CD question / new "Greatest Hits" (67,572) (67,574) by Billy from Greece
I meant to say, "I'm not an audiophile expert". Still, I am keen on finding out which is the best sounding version of a given CD.

Mariah's SHM-CD question / new "Greatest Hits" (67,572) by Billy from Greece
Does anyone here have any SHM-CD versions of any Mariah albums? Is there a difference in audio quality? I'm an audiophile expert, but is there any point in getting, for instance, "Charmbracelet" in SHM format? For those unfamiliar with SHM, it corresponds to "Super High Material CD", meaning, better developed CDs, presumably with better sound too. Also, has anyone bought the new "Greatest Hits" digipack?

"The Wind" (67,400) by Billy from Greece
Ditto for "The Wind". The first minute before the whole orchestra kicks in is unreal. The subtleties in her instrument are unprecedented. "The pain is gone, gone with the spirit in your eyes." Listen to how she reads "gone" in two totally different ways within the same sentence. This is a song that truly showcases her impeccable qualities as an interpreter of lyrics. Say what you want, the woman has created a legacy that will last forever.
