Thank you for taking the time to share this. Much appreciated.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey's opening a $20million museum (58,462) (58,470) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
If true I actually think it would be cool. Mariah is such a huge contributor to music history, yet the general public is still unaware (for the most part) of her efforts. Especially behind the scenes. And maybe she'd decide to put Marilyn's piano there. She's talked of that for ages. Museums don't necessarily mean tacky. They can be tastefully done in honor of the artist and the fans. One of my favorite Latin American singers, Selena Quintanilla has one that was opened after her passing with all proceeds going to her foundation. Granted the circumstances are different, but it can be done in a classy way.

May, I'm not Edward (obviously) lol, but you don't sound bad at all. I never had trouble understanding you. Your posts are clear, you have lovely insights. Don't sell yourself short. Honestly.

I meant to post this before. I really enjoyed the video. The dancing is very well done. I don't know who did the remix, but I wish it was available somewhere. Lol. Thank you.

Re: Deedre, that's life (58,383) (58,386) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Aw, you are welcome. You are a sweetheart. I think we just get caught up sometimes and forget that underneath even though the picture and circumstances seem to be different, and things like money and fame or race or background seem to separate us. If we are willing to look beyond all that with compassion we find we have the same insecurities highs lows hopes and dreams. I so resonate that Mariah had a song for every moment in my life that was a voice for my experience. If she decided to stop tomorrow, she wouldn't owe me a thing as a fan. I appreciate it all.

Re: The "Beacon" of light at the end of the "Theater" (58,370) (58,376) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I was hoping you would post about the show, and you did. Thank you, Edward. I'm so happy you had such an incredible night. I am also very glad you brought up YT vs actually being at a live venue, Although I have not had the opportunity to see Mariah yet (I am determined to see her, it's a dream of mine) you can never judge from YT it just isn't the same. I have been to live things, and it's just not the same at all on YT. She will have her vocal ups and downs as a human. That's just part of it. Things evolve and shift all the time. I guess I just don't see the value in being angry at her for it, or spending hours on end trying to prove what's lipped, what's live and what's prerecorded. It's called life. For me, I'd rather just take each moment for what it is. When we lose our compassion for each other what is left, right? She's going to have highs midtones and lows just like we all do. It's always about what you choose to do with them. Anyway, sorry for rambling, your experience made me smile, thank you for posting in detail about the concert. I may not have gone yet, and I know it seems odd since I've been a fan since I was 12. It's not for lack of trying lol. But reading the recaps take me right there. Thank you. Merry Christmas.

Mariissa my comment was not directed at you. I'm sorry if it came off that way. I wasn't referring to you at all. There is stuff popping up online in general.

I meant Beacon not bean. Darn autocorrect.

There are people already claiming lipping and trickery. If that's what people want to see, their minds are already made up. It's unfortunate because it's like cheating yourself out of what is there that is 100% live. When it is actually live, people will argue that it isn't. It's like creating drama is more interesting than the truth. Lol. At this point, I just want to enjoy Mariah period. Yes, she lips at times, yes there are tough performances, but it is also about Mariah the human for me, not just Mariah the celebrity. She just will never please everyone. I love her. I'm happy she's still performing. I'm proud to consider myself a lamb. I love her bean shows and have both years.

Beacon shows (58,277) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I hope that people will share about their experiences at the theatre. It's a dream of mine to be able to go to a concert, but a show of Mariah's Christmas music, that's something to cherish. I love the footage from last year.

Re: I Know What You Want performance (58,251) (58,257) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Hmm. I didn't see any kind of look from Mariah. She seemed relaxed and willing to go with it to me. She seemed happy to be among friends and chilling out.

Re: Rockefeller (58,183) (58,191) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Attempting to see something from someone's point of view does not equate to making them into a "victim". No, Mariah is not perfect and yes people were miffed at having to wait. We don't know what went on that day, there is only tabloid speculation on that. But it was clear to me watching that performance, that something personal was going on. Something heavy. I'm sure there are those who say, "This is her job, she should just suck it up." Sometimes when you are in the thick of life unfolding, things don't feel all that black and white. It's a grey area and we all have them. She is at choice where she performs, and I'm not surprised she's chosen not to do this event right now. Again, I think she's done with videos and feeds being released for the purpose of creating scandal and she's taking a stand on the issue.

Re: Rockerfeller Tree Lighting (58,150) (58,163) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I laughed at the the way the article tried to create this whole grudge thing because look, there's a difference between being vengeful and setting boundaries of what is and isn't okay with you. I think after AI Mariah is just done with recordings emerging for the sole purpose of fueling a smear campaigns. Especially when it is coming from the network you are partnered with.

Re: A Christmas Melody (58,143) (58,152) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
It's a Christmas film for Hallmark. Made for TV movies like this are known for being heartwarming, sentimental, and yes, even cheesy, but, I still enjoy them. I love Christmas. Lol. If I am able to watch it online, I definitely plan to (my cable provider doesn't carry the channel).

Re: GMA interview (58,081) (58,099) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Oh she's aware of the criticism. You'd have to live in oblivion not to be. Spend under 5 minutes reading comments on any one of her social media platforms, and you'll find it. Like you said, she can beat herself up far wose than anyone. The shame and blame approach just isn't effective for any human being, but generally society collectively seems to think it's okay if you are a public figure. IMO it's not okay for anybody. It also doesn't mean as a fan I have stuck my head in the sand and I'm expecting her to sound the way she did at 19.

Re: Anyways (58,061) (58,063) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Thanks Lee. I thought the GMA spot was really cute. Steve Harvey seemed more formal. GMA and Kelly & Michael and the other are more light-hearted and fun. I love her re-sung vocals for Can't Say No. Are they really making it an album only purchase though? Gotta hand it to them, that's smart marketing, because I was hoping to buy just that song. Lol.

Re: Some things stay the same (58,016) (58,047) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I wonder a lot why she doesn't just throw up her hands and say "Forget it, I don't need this." But, she always preservers no matter what comes her way. I love that about her. So, on target about people waiting to pounce and point out all the ways she messes up, isn't doing enough, sounds bad, looks bad, etc. I think that's why some artists (like Adele, or say Kate Bush) aren't very public.

Re: Morgan and Allison (58,003) (58,009) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Exactly, Bill. We don't know what goes on for anyone based on what we see in the media or by the opinions of countless people. Mariah gets called countless names. She lies, she's lazy, she drinks too much, is "fat" she should have vocal surgery to fix her voice (we're not in the room with her medical professionals) lol. She's mentally ill. People say they want her to open up more, but at the same time are always looking to find some kind of flaw with whatever it is that she's doing. There's a desire for her to "be more confident" but by the same token, scrutiny when she does anything. How does analyzing everything a person does (or doesn't do) boost their confidence? Only respect and love can do that. When you live under a microscope, and have been through a really rough few years emotionally, I imagine you might put up some walls because you feel safer that way. You're careful who you trust, because you feel you've been hurt before. Especially when you're a known sensitive person who is affected by what others say/do (which Mariah has said she is). Maybe when there is no expectation on Mariah to change or be different then she is, some of those protective walls will come down. Maybe when she's greeted with compassion and acceptance rather then scrutiny and judgement, everyone would feel better. The public, the fans, her family and Mariah herself.

Mariah won't ever please everyone (58,001) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
There will always be something "wrong" with an album, a single, a live performance or an interview if that's what you focus on. We all have our preferences. For example, the last Infinity remix wasn't my bag, no big deal, nothing to go over the deep end about, still adore Mariah and will always love and enjoy her. We either accept Mariah as is, or we don't. I've enjoyed what I've seen of the interview, she answers what is being asked honestly as far as I'm concerned. It's interesting how the same thing can be seen so differently through different lenses. Happy Thanksgiving MCA and Mariah for sharing your gifts with us.
