Aww, don't be mad at Golden. If you are implying that Mimi asked Nickey for one more try after James, of course he would say no to a rebound after a rebound. But your baby is happy to be her dependent though, so there is that.

He was around during the early Stella days when all of them, Binaka included were enabling, drinking, party fools. Her interviews with DJ Clue used to be too familiar at times as well. Probably a guy thing. Haven't heard from him in a moment. I would love to see/ hear a new Angie Martinez Mariah interview this era. Sometime friendships help interviews, some times not. Angie's interviews with Mariah always seem warm and familiar but more importantly, professional.

Thanks. I get frustrated, but it's unrealistic to think a musical talent, genius even, is going to remain the same, same.

Very interesting long take on Ms. Carey. I can agree with some of it. But one of her great strengths is her versatility, and chameleon like qualities. Yet she still puts her signature, her mark on whatever she does. Prince was an ever changing, conflicted artist. Many of the best are. She definitely doesn't want to be stagnant. So called big words aside, her lyrical content has seemed strained, maybe a reflection of her state of mind, even as she says she's in a good space. She's being cautiously careless, which in itself is conflicted. But life is rarely concrete or cut from stone. 8th Grade is a minimalist poetic gem, with no clear details, she transports me at least to possibilities. Her voice shows subtle passion and the r and b groove is just enough. This song should be in radio now.

B that's light work for mostly fans only. Sure It's a cool fun sounding song, attached to a familiar, funky sample. But Mariah's spitfire, rapid storytelling is both too coded and specific to draw the interests of the masses. This one needs a spontaneous challenge, with people spitting over the track, either guys shooting their shot to her constant no, or ladies co signing why she should say no. Lastly, since Mimi can't dance and this one is so fast ,it would make for awkward live moments with the song.

Lol yes it is get the fudge out, but on Fallon Mariah said she was reluctant to let the kids hear the song, but they just say get the fun cow. Cute story anyway. Look for the interview on YouTube.

GML has also grown on me. I'm also very intrigued by Blood Orange and now must add his Negro Swan project along with Caution to my collection. I found the connection to GTFO and Giving Me Life hilarious. The movie scene sample when the guy says, now GTFO, or using dem kids words, "Now get a fun cow." There is a real yet deliberately obscured thread in the music. Anyway Dev is such a unique voice and creative, I would also love to see an epic video production with Mimi, slick Rick and Blood Orange.

Probably because of Dev Hynes'/Blood Orange's massive guitar solo.

Exactly. Mimi signed on to be Stella's sister wife in crime. Speaking of the witch era, I was surprised to know that Cindy Berger now represents Diddy. Her name was mentioned in the sad news about the death of Diddy's ex, Kim Porter. Gone too soon.

Caution lyrics (86,054)

I looked up the lyrics until I buy the physical copy later today. I don't like the song Portrait, but appreciate the lyrics. Have not heard Runway, but the lyrics are particularly poignant. I love 8th Grade and the lyrics, vocals and music are exceptionally matched. The makings of a timeless, yet current song.

8th Grade (86,002)

So I love songs 8 and 9. Instantly loved them. Did I miss why 8th Grade is the title? I never hear her even say 8th Grade in the song. It has a great flow. Instantly radio ready and memorable. Song 9 is also a pleasure. It reminds me of the Khalid hit Location, which I also love. Playful and infectious. The early releases already bore me unfortunately. Good luck to Mimi.

One does sort of forget about that one. Pity many seem to liken Caution to Rainbow. But after the top three, the rankings of the rest were probably due to vote splitting.

Brenda KMart. The shade or the typo? . It's gotta be tough for people like her. But get over it. But that goes ten fold for Mimi too, when she's whining about some old slight. To whom much is given, thankfulness is required. There, fixed it.
