That video is one of her all-time best, in my opinion. She looks gorgeous, and genuinely seems like she's having fun filming it. Also a highly underrated song.

1) Many are doing a great job proving my original point, which was that folks have a lot of time to post negative things about her, before, during and immediately after her anniversary, but no time to wish her the best on her anniversary. That tells me all I need to know about a lot of folks around here. I'm not talking about people who had other stuff to do that week, but folks who were posting on the board a lot during the days before, during and after but had no well wishes.
2) Re: athletes, I won't indulge the rabbit hole this has gone down. I will ask, which singers at this stage of their career have #1 hits and put out quality albums all the time? Name names. Who is this fictitious model of what a singer at this stage should be doing that folks hold her to? How many have had #1 hits in 4 decades?
3) You say she's focused on more things than just music like that's a bad thing. I sure hope she is, she's building and supporting a family, not spending 24/7 every day putting an album out every year, and has certainly earned the right to explore many different areas of her life and interests.

It's not absurd, go running and tell your ex that. While you can find a few athletes here and there who have cheated, many of them have been found out sooner or later, they've been ridiculed and many of them have been stripped of their "accolades", but that's not the majority, that's why there's a system in place for that. When a singer cheats here and there by lipping, most people don't care as long as you still can sound decent or justify the money you're getting by putting on a good show. Fans shouldn't be taken advantage of just because they're loving fans, they should be respected just the same way the celebrities in question are respected by then.
According to your fine logic, just because Mariah has gotten lazy and doesn't give an f nowadays, we should just sit and take it lying down just because she once gave us some great music. No, no and no. She's known for not even doing like doing her own sound check, wtf.
Any person who have gotten to a point where they know they can't do their job decently, should retire with dignity, period. But I think it's not that Mariah can't do her job decently, I think that she doesn't want to put in the work to get that outcome. Her pretty caked up face won't just cut it. At least not for me.

You're arguing with yourself. I never called anyone evil, I just said folks hiding behind "actually, we're the real fans because we care enough to speak up" show who they really are by not acknowledging her anniversary, a simple yet non-trivial act if one is a fan of someone. That you list all the reasons you don't like her anymore as "receipts" of some argument you're having with yourself doesn't disprove my point (quite the contrary that you spent so much time putting that together but couldn't wish her a happy anniversary).
I'll hang up and listen whilst you yell at the clouds. Peace.

As tired as you are of us picking Mariah apart, we are tired of being told that we are not fans and we are evil people. Nobody's mad because MC doesn't have the same voice as 1990. Hell, she didn't even have the same voice in 1998. The real issue is the deception and the excuses. How did she go from saying publicly, :I would never lip sync" in the 90s to lip syncing most of her climaxes in 99 and beyond? And then not telling us what happened? I didn't want to do this on this board but a few years ago, I put together all of MCs excuses. In her own words. I don't ever argue without receipts. Oh and I still love MC. You can view the video here.

So much so that folks can't bring themselves to wish her Happy Anniversary? Come on now. Also, assuming what you say is true, do Michael Jordan fans constant bemoan him because he cannot jump the same way he did when he was 23?

I think that we are all frustrated that MC16 has not been released and she seems to have lost her beautiful gift. Listening to the introduction of Fantasy kind of brought tears to my eyes knowing that MC can't sing acapella anymore.

Many people on this board who post negative things about Mariah like to hid behind they "care" and are "fans", but are being "honest" and sometimes that means tough love. I'm on record as saying I think that's largely malarky, and they snidely deride me when I say that, But for a "fan board" very few folks wished her Happy Anniversary, and none of the regular critics. Indeed, plenty of posts before and after, but very few on the day of. Compare that to other fan boards of other artists, which have a higher percentage of posters who are actual, well fans.

It was about where on earth you got the notion she "graciously stepped aside" on the matter. That's your interpretation based on the fact her legal team didn't respond within the time limit, nowhere has that been stated. Not by Mariah, her representatives, or any publication. As always you make up little embellishments to strengthen your opinion/narrative.
What probably happened, and I am speculating here, is that Mariah's team saw all the backlash from her attempt to trademark a phrase, as virtually every publication that wrote about it saw it for the money grab it was, and realised it would be more damaging to her brand than beneficial if she were to pursue it.

Movie and book rights (101,505)

Hello Mariah, I have been trying to contact you after seeing you act in the movie Wise Girls. I then thought how nice it would be if you played the character role as a hardcore attorney that's feared by the system because of your outstanding wits as a no-nonsense defense attorney representing the bad guy.
I have written a powerful, dramatic book and screenplay inspired by true events. I really think that this script has the potential of becoming a major motion picture and Netflix series. I attempted to contact Denzel Washinston, but he was filming in Europe. Beyon'ce agent said they were not looking for original content at this time. Kasi Lemmons was tied up with Harriet and Jodie Foster agents said she had to get four films made before 2024. Why don't we connect so you can familiarize yourself with my story. Respectfully, Henry.

I'd say this, he's broader than just hiphop for his production credits (for instance, he produced Alicia Key's "U Don't Know My Name", Janet Jackson, John Legend, etc) and it makes sense if you didn't follow the charts either - Kanye has 22 Grammy wins! A lot for being a producer.
But back to your original point - I love Stay the Night. One of my favorite tracks and the production is incredible.
