About Stacey from USA:
Been a fan since 1993. Favorite albums include Daydream, TEOM, and Music Box. I love a good discussion, but won't stand for hateful comments because we disagree. I am too old to deal with drama and so are you. Keep it real with me and we'll have some fun. Peace.

Nick and Mariah (46,196)
by Stacey from USA

I hope the rumors aren't true. If they do divorce, I hope it is on friendly terms. There are children involved. When you become a parent, it isn't about just you anymore. Another thing: There are two sides to every relationship. There are those who are going to automatically jump on the Mariah bandwagon and accuse Nick of causing the divorce. MC is just as much to blame. I've been married for 13 years. I know what I'm talking about. To begin a marriage it takes two people. To cause its end also takes those same two people. Makes me think MIAM is all about her relationship with Nick, especially songs like Thirsty, Faded, and Camoflauge. Anyway, I hope the best for them.

Thank you for your kind words. Your comments and take on things are always a breath of fresh air here. Camoflauge is a great song. The lyrics are so deep and tender. My only beef with the song (and it's a small one) is the overuse of background singing. I don't know. It seems a "less is more" approach would have been better (aka Looking In). Anyway, it is a great song. With this album I've taken one song and really listened to it for a few weeks before discovering another track.

Thanks for the kind words Mimi L, Stephen, and Will. Edward is a class act too. Common sense and a cooler head always prevails in my book. Thanks for being such good examples of that to me too. When I first started posting on MC fansites as a young 24 year old, I took disagreements as personal attacks. I learned that is not the case. Such things cause unnecessary drama. Maybe it's because I'm 37, married almost 13 years, or have three kids (that cause enough drama all by themselves) that allows me to flick off the flies of drama when they buzz around me here. How's that for a metaphor? Haha. It's ok for those to say leave MC alone and let her do what she wants. Fair enough. But, not every fan is going to see it that way. There are those of us who are frustrated the album wasn't promoted properly. We feel the music deserves better treatment. Both opinions are valid and should be heard. If that bothers some of you, sobeit. The world would be boring if we all shared the same opinion. Relax and enjoy the discussion. It ain't that deep.

MIAM and promotion (46,080)
by Stacey from USA
| |
|
|
Simply stating you wish Mariah promoted MIAM is not whining. This album is that good and deserves to be heard. For whatever reason, MC has moved on. It's frustrating to many of us because when we listen to each track, there are so many potential hits that appeal to different markets (i.e. adult contemporary, R&B, hip-hop, etc.). I get wanting to get the album out to end a contract and move forward. What I don't get is her letting such hard work go to waste. This album is so personal to MC. She put a childhood drawing on the back cover. Listen to the songs like Camoflauge and Faded. You can tell she put her heart into this album. So why let people remember it as a flop? (And I'm not talking about Mariah fans.) Proper promotion (aka TEOM) would have helped sales. It bugs me this album isn't viewed among her great releases.

Your latest posts make me respect and like you tons more, my friend. Some folks will never learn an opinion is just that: an opinion. It's not fact. It's how you see a situation. *sigh* Anyway, my latest jam getting a lot of attention of MIAM is Money. What's your favorite song at the moment?

MIAM, sales / Money $@#! (45,973)
by Stacey from USA

Sorry, but fans can only do so much in regards to sales. I bought my copy. People have a choice. To say every fan who didn't buy the album are cheap isn't fair. Trust me, I'm annoyed too. It's a great album and should be heard. But, there are other factors at play why the album didn't sell. You just can't blame the fans. They are only one part of the triangle, the others being IDJ and Ms. Mariah C. herself. I finally gave Money a listen. Fabulous track (pun intended). Haha.

Katy Perry / Meteorite (45,609)
by Stacey from USA

I watched the video and it's clearly a diss. With the audience laughing right along with her. KP needs to be careful. While she is the flavor at the moment, she too will fade away. Not to say MC has faded away. But things do change. The music industry changes. However, MC is in a league of her own. Did you see the videos posted of MC attending the Herclules premiere? I loved how Dwayne Johnson left the reporter to hug MC as she passed by. Her happy reaction at seeing DJ was for real. Folks like KP are looking for any way to stay relevant, even if it means putting others down. I can't stand her for that very reason, lol. I've wasted enough time on her as it is. By the way, I am loving Meteorite. It's my jam at the moment.

Oh silly Katy Perry (45,547)
by Stacey from USA
| |

Katy Perry can say or do whatever she wants to MC these days. What she can't change are Mariah's accomplishments. Those are set in stone. Put aside all the chart topping hits spanning over 20 years, MC has sold over 200 million records worldwide. When silly Katy has hit that number, then she can talk #ish all she wants. Until then? Shut it, Ms. Katy.

Amen to every word you said. Amen. I grow so tired of fans telling other fans what they can and cannot post. Seriously, if an opinion bugs you, ignore it. How hard is that? I love this album. It bugs me that she isn't doing more promotion for such a great album. For someone who is so detailed oriented, it surprises me MC isn't more upset over all the disorganization. Don't like my opinion? Tough. I'm not going to stop simply because some nameless face on a computer screen tells me too. *sigh* Rant over, lol. Aaron, that video was amazing. You really are talented.

Thank you. You thought I was playing this song a ton before with Wale, lol. Now, it's on all the time. Honestly, I would love a version with just MC on the intro and combine Wale's two raps into one verse in the middle of the song before Mariah's ending choruses. That would be my perfect version of that song.

A new album is out and we are discussing J-Lo? Ebonics? The reason I haven't posted much lately is I'm too busy enjoying the album. Wise up and spend more time on things that matter. Geez. Edward, thank you for posting the no rap version. Wale doesn't bother as much having listened to the song so much, lol. His raps are kinda cute and fit the song. However, I am just thrilled there is a no rap version out there. Now, if I can just get my hands on a legal download of the song, I'll be set. Bill, thank you for your candid thoughts on using samples. Every artist has bent the rules at one point. Mariah is no different.

Initial thoughts on MIAM (44,278)
by Stacey from USA
| |
|
|
Bought the album Tuesday night and have had it playing non-stop in my house dealing with kids, etc. First off, let me just say it's nice to hear MC's full voice vocal. I know many fans love the whisper, but it's nice to hear all parts of her voice. In having the record playing while I chase my kids around the house, lol, I have to say the first song that stopped me in my tracks was Make It Look Good. Oh my, that song is my jam at the moment, and SW's harmonica solos? Pure gold. #Beautiful is great. I'll tell you though, it's kinda funny how this all works out, but YME is a favorite of mine on this album. When the song was released, I didn't hate it or love it. I was indifferent toward the song. But, for some reason, hearing it along with the rest of the song, it stands out as a favorite. You Don't Know What To Do is smash hit. Wale can still go, IMO. But, if he has to stay, I can live with it. Honestly, this song should have been released in February ahead of the album's release instead of YM(E). Heavenly is amazing, but too many chord changes at the end. It's almost like enough already. One or two at the end would have sufficed. Still listening to it and digesting it. Peace.

Clean version (44,139)
by Stacey from USA
| |
|
|
Oh who cares if there are clean versions of the song. I swear, to call wanting cuss words edited out censorship is a bit of a stretch, IMO. Honestly, folks who cuss don't lend their arguments any credibility. Doesn't make me listen to you more if you say f-this and f-that to me. Forgive me, I'm writing this late at night, probably when I should be in bed, lol. Still though, if someone wants a clean version, sobeit. I don't cuss in my everyday life. Sure, a word pops out here and there, but I honestly can't remember if ever I've let the f-word slip. It's just not me and IMO ruins a song like #Beautiful. Why she put that word in there is beyond me. Anyway, I am excited to finally buy the clean version, haha, of the album tomorrow. Peace.

Show Wale the door (43,836)

So glad I am not the only one who thinks this guy ruins a great song. I heard the album version today and wow, what a great beat, vocals, lyrics, etc. Why does MC or whoever decide to put an annoying rapper over such amazing beats and vocals. It makes no sense. Ugh. I'm with you Edward. I hope she puts out a no rap version.

I don't know why I thought of this duet, but I totally want the mp3. It's MC's duet with Michael Buble for AIWFCIY. I know Christmas is months away and I'm so excited summer the weather is warming up, but still I need the song. So, if you have a high quality mp3 of the song and don't mind sending it to me, I would be so thankful.

Today Show May 2014 (43,716)
by Stacey from USA

|

So, MC's recent live performances haven't been that great, lol. Today though, she did great. She did lip the new song. It's so obvious, no discussion is needed. Though I don't fault her for that. It's a new song and so I understand why she would lip a pre-recorded track. No one has heard it up until now. As for the other two songs, perfect choices. ABMB from the 90s and TMB, a more recent hit. As for ABMB, I loved how MC played off getting the lyrics wrong by singing she did such a thing. Classic. That is the personality we want to see, someone who plays off a mistake with a light diss toward herself and sings on. All in all, a great start to getting this new album off the ground. One side note, I loved YDKWTD except Wale's part. Ugh, I know some love, love, love her rap collabos and sometimes I do too. But this Wale guy needs to hit the road, lol. I found myself loving the song except when that guy opened up his mouth. If anyone comes across a no rap version, let me know. I'd love to have it.

Thirsty (43,552)
by Stacey from USA

I know many like her rap collabos, and sometimes I do too. However, I always like when she puts out the song with just her and then the rap is featured on a remix. It's nice. I'm not liking the trend with the cuss words, but that's just me. Remember, I listen to this stuff a lot with my kids in the car, so a clean version (remember Edward, lol) would be nice. I can't help but think as I listen to it, the song is a reminder to Nick to keep it in check. Maybe the divorce rumors are true. I hope not. Time will tell. Nice song. Catchy beat. This is the kind of song the GP will request on the radio.

Edward / clean version (43,179)

Haha Edward, you're such a funny guy, lol. I usually listen to music with kids in the car, so I can do without the f-word all over #Beautiful. Plus, I don't care for cussing in general either. I hope they do release a clean version like at Walmart. That's where I got Amy Winehouse clean version of her album Back To Black.

Artwork / clean version (43,157)
by Stacey from USA

I think the artwork done as a kid is a nice touch. Being a mom to three kids, two of which draw pictures, I just love when they color then give me the picture. I also hope there is a clean version released. I know Amy Winehouse did that years ago. I know the language thing doesn't bother some. But, I usually have kids in the car with me and would not have to deal with it.
