About Stacey from USA: Been a fan since 1993. Favorite albums include Daydream, TEOM, and Music Box. I love a good discussion, but won't stand for hateful comments because we disagree. I am too old to deal with drama and so are you. Keep it real with me and we'll have some fun. Peace.

Possible TM and MC reunion (75,194) by Stacey from USA
It might not be such a bad thing. All this talk about TM behind LA's departure from Epic is just that: speculation. I honestly think both ex's have grown up and moved on from that situation. Mariah isn't young and naive as she was during her time at Columbia records. In the end, I don't think Tommy is in any way associated with this mess at Epic. Mariah will put an album out later this year as she's said. If it tanks, I'd say she's in real trouble of losing her record deal.

LA out at Epic (75,170) by Stacey from USA
I always felt LA was Mariah's safety net. If he was there she could pretty much do or not do what she wanted, like releasing I Don't with no notice or not really focusing on putting out a quality album. Maybe the newbies at the label will kick Mariah in gear. Mariah is a legend, but Epic is a business and businesses like to make money. They only care about what you've done for them lately. Get in gear MC, or you might find yourself without a deal.

Everything Fades Away (75,029) by Stacey from USA
Everything Fades Away is another ballad unlike her others that gives me chills. While TTEOT invokes cries for her love to come back, EFA is quite the opposite, telling the story of love that has ended. Both songs have such beautiful, haunting melodies. I love how both songs end in much the same way, light singing that just fades away (pun intended). Love this song too.

Mara, Licia, Special K - Till the End of Time (75,027) by Stacey from USA
Mara, It's no secret I am no fan of Mariah the person these days. But, I digress, lol. Still though, I thank her for writing the lyrics and then delivering such a powerful vocal that still gives me chills 20+ years later. Like Licia said, that bridge is so, I can't even put into words the emotions I feel when she sings that bridge into the final chorus. Oh and how the song lingers then fades into The Wind is sheer genius. Ms. K, you said it. This song is in a league of its own.

Emotions, Till the End of Time (74,982) by Stacey from USA
I know it's often hard if not impossible to name a favorite this or that when it comes to Marian's songs. But, all this talk about the Emotions LP got me thinking about Till the End of Time. Daydream as a whole is my tops album. Always will be. But, I think if I had to pick a favorite ballad, Till the End of Time is it. The song has such a hauntingly beautiful feel to it, something so different than her typical ballads we hear. Magical.

Re: B-sides and rareties CD (ebay) (74,872) (74,875) by Stacey from USA
I was a long time collector. Some of my items are featured here. I bought fan made promo CDs. I never had a bad experience. I guess my only advice would be to check the person's feedback. Buying bootleg stuff is hit or miss.

Re: Can't Let Go video (74,805) (74,816) by Stacey from USA
Agree 100%. It's laughable to place I Don't in the same realm as Can't Let Go.

You're gonna equate the likes of I Don't, IBLYLT, HATE-U to Can't Let Go? Seriously dude, take off the rose colored glasses.

Re: The cycle of the lambs (74,441) (74,458) by Stacey from USA
Haha, I was thinking along the same lines before I ever saw this post. I want to believe things will be different. But, I'm slowly realizing MC's best days may be behind her. May...

Re: One More Try live in Dubai (official video) (74,085) (74,103) by Stacey from USA
She did a great job. As far as lipping parts, it's no big deal. We all know she has lipped for years. All singers do it. The key is mixing live notes with the lipped parts without the average ear bring able to tell the difference. She did that with this performance and she came off sounding great.

Loved every word. Probably the most spot on post about Mariah's current situation I've ever read. Thank you.

One of my favs for sure. The whole haunting vibe of the song is genius. Plus, she blends so well with Dru Hill. Such a masterpiece.

Re: Celine, Aretha, and all that stuff... (73,907) (73,926) by Stacey from USA
Nope, you can't fake that stuff. That's why I dismiss the whole Celine was rude to Aretha argument. I couldn't believe this topic was resurrected either. Leave it alone already, lol.

K, you know it. I have a CD player. You know we're old school in my house. My 8 year old daughter empties the dishwasher. What does she turn on? Daydream of course.

I played Daydream in its entirety yesterday. I Am Free is such an underestimated gem.

Celine, Aretha, and all that stuff... (73,884) by Stacey from USA
Celine didn't upstage anyone. Geez. Anytime she is asked about other artists, she always has nice things to say. She was so complimentary and gracious when asked about Ariana and John Legend taking on Beauty and the Beast. This idea that Celine was rude to Aretha Franklin is just plain ridiculous. Celine doesn't strike me as a person who shades others compared to Ms. "I don't know her". On Chain of Fools, MC was going at it with Aretha too. They were both trying to out do each other, most notably at the end. Was MC being disrespectful? No. Why even ask the question? It was a Divas show. People want to hear them ladies sing. Period. We need to stop beating this poor dead horse.

Re: If you could (73,392) (73,416) by Stacey from USA
The Beautiful Ones, Fly Like A Bird. I mean can you imagine all the amazing runs? Wow. MIAM? Um, I'd have to choose One More Try. I think her 2014 rendition is ok. But, I'd love to see her go after this song with 20 year old age voice.

Re: If you could (73,410) (73,414) by Stacey from USA
Ohhhh, I love The Beautiful Ones. It is such an overlooked amazing cover. Prince just doesn't let anyone cover his songs. So to let Mariah take a record this song was a huge compliment to her.

Re: No albums (73,377) (73,412) by Stacey from USA
So true. TOEM was so good, folks had to pay attention. Radio stations had to play her music because folks requested her songs be played. It saddens me a bit seeing her falter. She's such a musical genius.

Re: What should Mariah do now? (73,154) (73,173) by Stacey from USA
Oh sure, I agree she sings to prerecorded tracks to save her voice for those songs she needs to sing live. Her concerts are equally demanding. But, every time she gets up to sing, I'm not cringing wondering how it's going to go like MC.

Re: What should Mariah do now? (73,127) (73,133) by Stacey from USA
I don't know if MC had vocal surgery. I think along with telling MC what to wear, how to act, Tommy Mottola also did all he could to protect that voice. Sure, he was thinking of money, the bottom line. Nonetheless, if we look back at when her voice started to deteriorate, it was around the time of her divorce. TM was no longer able to do what he could to protect his investment. I wonder why after all these years, MC's voice has gotten worse while someone like Celine can hit that high note from All By Myself 20 years later.

MC on Kimmel, Edward (72,775) by Stacey from USA
Badly needed and MC delivered. Maybe NYE woke MC up in some respects. Let's hope. VOL didn't have all the flair we are used to vocally, but it was obvious that MC still loves that song and that alone it seemed was enough to deliver a good performance. There were moments her voice wasn't there for this or that note. She didn't sweat it. MC is so good at changing up a note or run on cue. And I loved the long note at the end, like take that ya'all. As far as I Don't, a message to YG: I don't. Thank heavens there is a rap free version. Edward, loved all your thoughts on the topic. Agree 100%.

Re: Mariah on Kimmel (72,610) (72,634) by Stacey from USA
Yeah, if you can't get along with Ellen, then it's you with the problem, lol. Kimmel takes everything in stride so MC's appearance should go ok. I mean, they got in the bath together last time for crying out loud.
