About Stacey from USA: Been a fan since 1993. Favorite albums include Daydream, TEOM, and Music Box. I love a good discussion, but won't stand for hateful comments because we disagree. I am too old to deal with drama and so are you. Keep it real with me and we'll have some fun. Peace.

Mariah on Fallon (39,794) by Stacey from USA
MC was all over the place, but she wasnt loopy like when she surprised Carson on TRL. C'mon, nothing compares to that TRL performance. She was not in a good place. My only criticism is that outfit. Oh my! Loose the fan, lol. Other then that, her tangents make for good TV.

Will (39,715), on a side note (39,758) by Stacey from USA
I could not say it better. I'm torn as well. On one hand the vocals and arrangement are spot on. Yet, the lyrics seem off to me, a bit disjointed as you say. Maybe the song will grow on me over time. That's happened with many MC songs. On a side note, not everyone is going to like the song and should not be give the label of haters or whatever. So tired of that. Do all fans here love every song off every album she's ever sung? No. A bit disingenuous if you say yes. So just chill and let everyone have their say. Peace.

Just a friendly reminder that it's not your place to decide who is a fan and who is not. I'm 36 and find it a bit odd to call myself a lamb, yet others feel differently and that's ok. I've followed her for 20 years, bought every album, even did a little trading and collecting for a time. So just chill and let fans do what they will. You know you'll buy the album and support her. Who cares what others do? Peace.

Eric, criticisms (39,594) by Stacey from USA
Eric, I can almost guarantee someone will find fault with people who post an opinion criticizing something MC does. I hesitated posting my thoughts because I knew someone would try and group us all as haters. It's honestly comical to me at this point, lol.

Excited for the song (39,591) by Stacey from USA
But the cover art? Not so much. I'm kinda tired of the whole bathing suit thing (videos, etc.). I'll leave it at that. Peace.

TAOLG / lip synching (39,562) by Stacey from USA
A string orchestra with a jazzy feel, well at least a few notes I heard gave me that impression. I'm intrigued. As far as lipping, I'll leave it at this: I'd rather her lip and not strain her voice too. My saying she lips has never ever been a criticism. Oh, and even with a few notes at the end of FLAB lipped, that Grammy performance was amazing. She shut up her critics who had counted her out. That's something we can all agree on.

Joe (39,548) by Stacey from USA
The 2006 Grammy performance was awesome. The WBT part, first, second verse and choruses of FLAB were 100% live. My only objection to the medley being all live was the end of FLAB where as Joyce put it, she did more theatrics, turning around, etc. But, it's ok if some disagree with me. I don't take someone disagreeing with me so personal. Know what I mean? I too am excited to hear a new MC song.

That was me who mentioned the Grammys 2006 performance. I stand by what I say, even if some disagree with me. Who cares? All singers lip, so let's move on.

Singers lip (39,537) by Stacey from USA
The best of singers lip, end of discussion. Moving on.

Vocal peak (39,528) by Stacey from USA
Emotions is a great album, one to be appreciated and admired for what Mariah accomplished vocally on that album. Even MC herself has said Civiles and Cole pushed her voice to the stratosphere on Emotions and MIH. But someone who says that was her vocal peak has not heard Merry Christmas, Daydream, or TEOM. Yeah, go listen to Circles and that octave run she has toward the end of the song around minute 2:42. Brilliant. Sure, things have changed, she's had to adjust keys of songs and such. I mean, if you want to clearly say what her vocal peak was, I'd argue Butterfly to Rainbow. But even then that's not a fair statement because she has had so many amazing songs since then that show she still has it. Grammys 2006 anyone?

Rock and a hard place (39,518) by Stacey from USA
It wad nice to see Walter A. speak so highly of MC even after all these years. You can only imagine the tough spot he was in during Tommy and Mariah's breakup. He loves working with MC, but is employed by Sony. Tough spot. I do hope they work together again and let the past stay where it belongs. On a side note, I think My All sounds perfect. I think strings would have taken away from the raw emotion of the song.

Emotions (39,512) by Stacey from USA
That album just shows what an amazing voice MC has. Some of the notes she hits on Emotions and even Make It Happen are simply phenomenal. Even she was surprised Civiles and Cole could get her to sing that high. Till the End Of Time has got to be one of my top 5 ballads. The emotional intensity of that song is unmatched.

Rashidi Rahim (39,492) by Stacey from USA
I completely agree. I am super excited to have new music from two of my favorite singers. I love MC and Celine equally. Both fill different musical tastes for me. It will be nice to have new music to rock my new guy too.

New song (39,485) by Stacey from USA
I am super excited. I'll have a new MC song to rock my new baby to sleep. The new guy will arrive a few days after the song is released.

Who cares, really? (39,460) by Stacey from USA
I care to worry about MC news that matters rather than concern myself with nutjobs that only serve to waste my time. Peace.

I agree 100% with your last post. Well written. Let's give it a chance. It might be ok. JD definitely has no problem telling MC "no" and that is what she needs. It's what any artist needs. Too many "yes" people around you is not good. You need someone strong enough willing to stand up and say "no, let's try this direction". As talented as MC is, she isn't right all the time. And she can stand up to JD if her idea is indeed really good and needs to be heard. I'm inclined to think it might work. We'll see. (If the rumor is true. Any further thoughts?)

Dupri and MC (39,393) by Stacey from USA
I'm willing to see this one out before making a judgement. Randy is a great guy, and no doubt knows the music business, but JD has worked closely with Mariah musically for years, producing some amazing songs. So, I'm inclined to say let's give it a chance. My only reservation is MC needs people around her willing to say "no". JD has done that in the past. He's the one who insisted WBT be sung with full voice vocals. I remember reading somewhere MC wanted the whisper and JD said no. If that's the case, then maybe him managing her will be a good thing. Only time will tell.

Mariah's evergreens (39,380) by Stacey from USA
Um, MC has more evergreens than she knows what to do with, lol. Just look at her concert set lists over the past 10-15 years. No fan is ever pleased, always feeling she left out a favorite of theirs. Why? She has so many great songs to choose from.

Who cares, really? (39,301) by Stacey from USA
Who cares what people discuss? As long as each person is being respectful to other viewpoints, then it doesn't bother me. If the current topic bugs you, make a conscious choice to ignore it. The other alternative is to start a new topic. Honestly, I don't understand why some let the little things bother them. Chill. There will be plenty of drama when the new album drops, lol.

Wow / The Beautiful Ones (39,262) by Stacey from USA
I didn't mean to spark such a controversy, lol. Normally I am of the same opinion. The Coen brothers tried to remake True Grit and no one in my opinion can take the place of John Wayne. Only one Clark Gable and Vivian Leigh when it comes to gone with the wind. Can't touch Aretha, MJ, etc. Yet sometimes on the rare, rare, rare occasion it can happen. If anything I think MC's remake comes very close. I think the soft start to the play off each other rants at the end between MC and Sisqo fulfills that emotional need for me. But to each their own. It's still a great song no matter which version you prefer.

More in studio pics / The Beautiful Ones (39,251) by Stacey from USA
More studio pics from MC. *sigh* I am willing to wait for good music, but she is pulling my heart strings right now. Maybe it's the pregnancy, lol. Who knows? I just need some MC music to play, lol. I don't know why, but I have had this song running through my head constantly lately. It's never been one of those "go to" songs I love, but for some reason lately I've developed a new appreciation for it. From the slowed infectious beat to the masterful play between Sisqo and MC at the end is just perfect. Sorry, but this is one song where I think Mariah outdid Prince and that is almost impossible to do most times.

Alain / Carlos (39,234) by Stacey from USA
I have the song and can send it to you. Let me know. Carlos, I don't see Celine fans taking over this website, just a few people discussing her new single and how they like it. Chill.

Will (39,217) by Stacey from USA
I agree. I just heard Celine's new song and I have to say I really like it. The bridge is a bit messy to me, but maybe will grow on me with time. I especially loved the note before the end note on the line "loved me back to life". I don't know if I make any sense. The chord just strikes me as perfect. Anyway, MC needs to look back at Daydream, Butterfly, Rainbow, TEOM, and E=MC to figure out a formula that works. Why were those albums successful? Know what I mean? Anyway, if I have to wait for MC, Celine is a nice way to go.

Favorite album (39,063) by Stacey from USA
Well, obviously my favorite album is Daydream. No suprise there, lol. It has something for everyone. Same goes with TEOM and Butterfly. As for my least favorite albums, that has to be CB and Memoirs. Both albums have such a similar sound all throughout, especially MOAIA. When an entire album is produced by the same people, it just got boring for me after a few songs. When an entire album embraces the same whisper vocals, I loose interest no matter how powerful the lyrics are. If the vocals don't match the lyrics, it bugs me. Of course on each of those two albums, there are a few songs I like. However, as a whole, I can't remember the last time I listened to them.
