On his latest commercial. I look forward to the Superbowl commercials. I liked his Christmas commercial for T-Mobile, but hopefully this one will be better. I'm really glad that he and Mimi seem to have worked out the parenting thing although I miss all the videos of Dembabies that Nick used to share with the fans. Rocky gets an A for effort on his "I have a Dream" recitation on MLK day.

Re: In studio photo op (80,739) (80,742)

She could be making music although it would seem very sporadically. We honestly don't know what she does in between the random photo ops. If dinner outings, shopping trips, random award show appearances, etc. Her nephew Shawn seems to imply that she has some monster Grammy worthy project cooking up in the studio. On Grammy night he tweeted that he hasn't attended since 2006, but he plans to attend next year. I will be pleasantly surprised if she releases new music in time for Grammy consideration. I font see that happening this year though. Based on dongs like I Don't and her shaky feature on Unforgettable, I'm not sure. Mariah has said that she would like to work with Kendrick Lamar and that would be very interesting if it happens. I can't even imagine how that would sound. I am hoping for something great, but this is one time when I don't know what to expect from her musically. She really had lowered the bar since MIAM and though it has sone good sounds, MIAM is far from her best.

I agree with a lot of what you said and not that Bruno isn't talented and a great writer. But I don't think that Mimi should try to pull from that particular well.

We Belong Together, DFAU and Touch My Body, or 16, 17 and 18 respectively. She was funny and oozing out her last bit of sexy before babies and what not. From there to I Don't is just Marian's World's apart.

OK Imma let you have Patti, lol. As for Jay, I think the party was supposed to be 1940's theme, so he was appropriate, if the only one dressed that way.

Bruno Mars (80,709)
by RibbonB from USA

I liked one of his hits from the last project but in general that record was so derivative and basic. Mimi doesn't seem to mention him on her would like to work with list and I am glad. I think after his big win last night he might start getting backlash. The pendulum swings both ways and this project might be the climax of his career. I highly recommended she works with Miguel a couple of years and that was a nice success. I believe she could have great success and quality working with Childish Bambino and his collaborators for at least a couple of songs. I think she needs a more interesting, mature sound that people could groove to and that she would not have to worry about dancing to. Vocals not movement are her strength. Bruno does write a good ballad, but I doubt the success of 24K would rub off on Mimi nor would that sound fit with her strengths.

She brought her staff to both events although I heard that she and her entourage arrived at the night soiree as the event was ending. Better late than never I suppose. I'm not big Beyonce and Jay Z fans, but they were serving looks all day yesterday. Nice to see Mimi wearing her Oprah "youngun" earrings earlier in the day. Oprah really needs to throw another legends ball. The first one was epic.

Girl you know Mimi needed an assistant on both arms after attending both a brunch party and a "linner soire" in one day. Her manager JayZ has a lot of pull no doubt. Her evening look was cute.

Yes, I love that live performance on Letterman from 93 or 94. Both Mariah and the choir gave an inspired performance. It's like by the end if the song she commands everything to be alright.

Well I was so glad she dropped out. Dem babies were fortuitous in so many ways lol. Overall I thought that movie [was] a mess and not a piece of literature that Tyler Perry should have touched.

Oh no, no, I am so glad she avoided that bullet girl. That movie was much. I know she dropped out due to her pregnancy right? But I thought her playing that part would have been disastrous.

I know, but can you imagine if she wins for both categories. Wow. I guess Mimi got over the acting bug. So strange that she did that vanity Christmas movie. I would love to see her with a significant part in an indie movie. Something bigger and better than Tennessee though. I am dying to see her in a nice music related period movie say from the 50s or 60s, hell even the 70's.

Congratulations to Mary J Blige for her best supporting actress nomination for her role in Mudbound. I hear that both the movie and her performance are excellent. I am tempted to finally indulge in Netflix just to watch it. I hear that she, and/or the movie were nominated for best song as well.

Sharing moments (80,556)
by RibbonB from USA
| |
|
|
Mimi is just sharing moments (maybe staged) for likes and reactions. She multi tasks in the red outfit for dinner, then days later the Daily Mail also has a picture from inside her house with her in the exact same, not suitable for bowling, outfit "bowling" with Rocky. And of course we have the white tee dinner outing and the same outfit later in the studio also in the Daily Mail. People get hyped and/or vexxed by photos all the time. Mimi is playing to her base as varied as it is. I personally like the family moments best and that is what's real, but even that we only see what she decides to share which is very little.

The Four - Chyenne Elliott (80,533)
by RibbonB from USA
| |
|
|
I finally checked out the new reality talent show and its just OK. The most interesting thing was Dionne Warwick's grand daughter was a contestant. She really reminds me of a young Mariah both in voice and looks. The resemblance is uncanny, even to the big curly brown hair. Chyenne Elliott is already off of the show, but it will be interesting to see how her career develops. She doesn't look exactly like Mimi of course, but enough do that she could be perfect to play young Mimi if a movie is made within the next several years.

Diva surprise please (80,526)
by RibbonB from USA
| |

Now Lila, to be fair, Mimi wore that same Marilyn t-shirt earlier for her dinner outing. And good for her with her expensive purse. I do hope she is making some good music that we will be able to listen to in the near future. She should do something very different and just drop a new track just for the fans, just because. No hype, just her lambs.
