About Stacey from USA: Been a fan since 1993. Favorite albums include Daydream, TEOM, and Music Box. I love a good discussion, but won't stand for hateful comments because we disagree. I am too old to deal with drama and so are you. Keep it real with me and we'll have some fun. Peace.

Deedre / Nicki vs. Mariah (37,154) by Stacey from USA
Awww, you beat me to the "Nick" joke, lol. It's easier to type Nikki vs. Nicki with the "c". I totaly get your last post. I'm glad they blew up during the audition process and not during the lives shows. Who knows, it may happen there too, lol. Heaven knows I've got my fair share of situations I wish I could have handled differently. Randy Jackson and MC are long time friends. There is that established relationship there. RJ is an experienced judge on AI. Keith Urban is a legend amongst country loyalists. Then there is Minaj. What does she add to the group? And in that question lies why she does what she does. She feels inferior, jealous. Ever been around that person in your own personal lives that has to fight for attention? Doesn't that get annoying? When you're talking, they talk louder to be heard. Minaj is doing this job as a career advancement while MC/Randy/Urban have earned their stripes already and have nothing to prove. They genuinely care about the contestants and their futures. So Minaj constantly feels the need to put herself in the spotlight no matter the consequences.

Mariah on Idol / Deedre (37,143) by Stacey from USA
Normally I've always skipped the audtion shows. I never cared about the show untill the finalists were chosen. This time around I tuned in to see MC as a judge and of course to check out the drama between Nicki and Mariah. I thought MC did great. However, the audition shows are so scripted, it's hard to read each judge. Know what I mean? I think we'll get a good sense of how the panel works as a whole when it's live. You can't hide much then. Deedre, I totally agree with all your posts about MC's judging style. I can't wait for the live shows. I think that's when she'll really shine. Though, I hope she controlls the "diva" stuff, lol. You all know what I mean? That's said with love.

Desiree (37,130) by Stacey from USA
I know you weren't referring to me. I should have made that clearer in my post. My point was a bunch of people including myself have talked about Nicki vs. Mariah. It wasn't fair to single out Carla when so many others are talking about it too. It's the big story from Idol and until that changes (i.e. Nicki wises up and stops the digs) it will continue to be the main story. Know what I mean?

Desiree / Jenny (37,127) by Stacey from USA
Others are talking about Nicki vs. Mariah too, including myself. For me, it's so in my face, how can I not talk about it. Nicki is all over MC with every little dig each time MC speaks. It gets really really annoying after awhile. She is clearly jealous of something. If you are confident in yourself, you have no need to personally attack others. MC is getting positive press making Nicki more jealous. She's trying to hard to win folks over and be funny. Her whole demeanor is falling flat. Folks will talk about what they want. Doesn't bother me. I just ignore what I don't care to talk about. Jenny, you're welcome. Folks here know I don't sugar coat constructive criticism of MC. They also know I give praise where praise is rightly deserved and with AI, MC is doing a great job. I think you'll quite enjoy her judging style when AI hits SA.

Hope Street / one more thing (37,121) by Stacey from USA
When I read the phrase tired of trying to please the teenager audience, I couldn't be more happier to read that. The eternally 12 thing was growing old. Now granted I'm 35 and never want to let age get the better of me. But, there are things I do now that I didn't do at 12 and vice versa. Know what I mean? I can't wait for a more mature sound. Doesn't mean she has to go soft or sugary, but something that meets halfway. She's grown up a lot in that she's married with a family now. That changes your perspective. Like TJ, I hope this really comes true. She said similar things before MOAIA, and although some here love that album, it was a big let down for me. Somehow with the release of the album coinciding with Idol, I think Mariah is going to bring it (ala TEOM). The return of the voice returns once again.

Deedre (37,120) by Stacey from USA
Deedre, I totally agree with you about MC/Minaj feud. I think there is some real bad blood there. Quite frankly, Minaj is jealous. She fights too hard to be the center of attention. Mariah doesn't need to fight for attention. Her accomplishments do that for her and I think Minaj is jealous of that. Why else do you constantly dig another artist. I saw that clip of Minaj joking about MC's range. MC's reactions are too natural for it to be fake. All I know, Minaj doesn't know who she's messing with. MC has such a great way of getting back at her critics. Minaj needs to talk to Eminem. MC makes a video, writes a song calling him obsessed, even dressing up like him. Too funny.

Hope Street / Jenny (37,119) by Stacey from USA
I like the title. I can't wait to hear the song. Jenny, I think you'll like MC's judging style. Most of the American press has been positive toward MC. TV Guide's praise I quoted and another article posted by Hollywood.com (on this website) titled "10 reasons why MC is the best qualified judge ever". I was a little unsure MC should do Idol. I honestly thought it was beneath her. However, I wanted to give the show a fair chance and reserve full judgement untill the show aired. I found myself excited to hear her critique. She has a way of critiquing the contestants minus the Simon-like bite. Know what I mean I can tell she genuinely cares about the contestants. It's not about her. It's not about showing up the other judges (*coughs* Minaj). It's about helping another artist achieve their dreams, something MC is very passionate about.

American Idol / Mariah (37,109) by Stacey from USA
I was only able to catch the last 45 mins of the season premiere. I thought Mariah did a great job. TV Guide gave her the best review too. Very positive. As TV Guide put it, MC "skillfully treads the line between being friendly and respectful to the contestants, while at the same time offering them constructive feedback about their talents or lack thereof". I totally agree. You could totally tell MC was genuinely interested in the contestants. I'm not sure if the feud is a total sham. There were a few times where Minaj threw some jabs and Mariah and you could see MC look at her like "what the crap is your problem?" We'll see how the season plays out. You can only fake a feud for so long, lol.

Stephen / Desiree (37,091) by Stacey from USA
Thank you Stephen for getting where I'm coming from. When you marry someone, that changes the dynamic of the relationship in the history books, right or wrong. Get married and divorced and you'll see what I mean, lol. Desiree, Rene was more of Celine's manager, not so much an exec. Plus, he wasn't such a control freak, lol. It's an interesting discussion. MC has sure had to fight for her due credit. No denying that. I think doing Idol is her way of saying I'm done fighting. I'm going to enjoy life and screw all the naysayers. Her numbers don't lie. And in the end, this discussion is all gravy. I get to enjoy her music and for that, I'm grateful. My favorite album is Daydream. Least favorite: CB/MOAIA. Although, even if an album doesn't grab me as a whole, there are always a handful of songs I love. CB gave me Irresistible. MOAIA gave me Obsessed and Angels Cry.

Nah RibbonB, Lee (37,090) by Stacey from USA
Nah, I get your point. My intent was never to contradict your points or Stephen's thoughts about MC/TM relationship. I just mentioned the marriage as something on the side to consider (not the main dish) as to why MC gets linked stronger to TM than other artists to their execs. If people don't want to consider it, that's their choice, I guess. There is no denying MC has had to fight harder for credit she deserves, a point I mentioned. Rene and Celine are happy in their marriage. (Going on 20 years in 2014, I believe.) That's boring news to the media, lol. Lee, TM's post-MC failures speak volumns, but so do MC's post-TM success too. TEOM comes to mind among other sucessful movies and business ventures.

Stephen (37,082) by Stacey from USA
You are totally right. MC is never given credit for anything, lol. It blows my mind she still has to mention she writes all her songs. I'm wasn't arguing against that or really involved in that discussion. Some here have asked why MC is linked to TM more than other artists to their mentors. So, I just added the marriage aspect. It defintely changes the dynamic of the relationship when you marry that person. Anyway, Happy New Year to you.

It doesn't matter (37,081) by Stacey from USA
It doesn't matter if we are talking about MC's career or her personal life. TM is linked to both because he was married to her. He was her boss and husband. During those years, her personal and professional lives were one in the same. No matter how long ago the divorce happened, when you marry someone, all aspects are forever linked. It's a part of your past. And so when folks talk about MC's career, TM is always going to be a part of that discussion because of their personal connection. I highly doubt he would be mentioned as much if they had never married.

Don't overlook the fact (37,073) by Stacey from USA
The media doesn't tie Whitney to Clive or Alicia the same way they do MC to TM because Clive Davis didn't marry either singer. I doubt MC would be constantly linked to TM if she didn't marry the guy. That is an important detail not to be overlooked. No matter how long ago the divorce happened, when you marry someone, you are forever linked to them. It's a part of your past.

Tommy and Mariah / Barbara and Mariah (37,055) by Stacey from USA
Tommy has his right to tell his story, as crazy as it may sound to some of us. They both helped each other's career. Mariah's talent carried her to the moon and back, lol, but she needed someone to put gas in the rocketship. That was Tommy. Mariah needed the jump and she did the rest. Since Christmas has ended, I've gone back to listening to Mariah's best remixes during my workouts. Oh my. BTW, I just watched BW's interview with Mariah. Her kids are so cute. My son is a month older than MC's twins. This time is so fun.

MC 2013 album release (36,990) by Stacey from USA
I am also excited MC's album is the most anticipated one of 2013. I also get bugged with radio stations not playing her stuff, but if it is that good, they will have no choice. TEOM was an awesome album with great single choices and radio had to play them because the public was requesting them (i.e. WBT). In 2005, MC put together music that was current. We know she can do it again.

Non single tracks, remixes (36,964) by Stacey from USA
I love the whole Music Box album. Probably because it's the first album of hers I bought, when I first discovered MC. I agree with others about her lesser known tracks. Those are some of the best, IMO. Till The End Of Time, Now That I Know, When I Saw You, All I Ever Wanted, After Tonight, Irresistable, etc. I remember in 1996 my sister got me ABMB USA CD single with the JD remix. I was like, "What is this?" It was this whole other world of songs to enjoy. Enwar, I think that's where Sony dropped the ball with the remix album. They could have included all the radio edits to these amazing remixes and include a ton more on the CD, some of which are so rare like Meme Butterfly, etc. The Def Classic Radio remix of ABMB is one of my favorites. I have it in mp3 if you want it. I had no clue about those remixes, because they were only released in the EU. That's what got me started collecting, was getting her CDs with these rare remixes on them. RadChad, you are so right. Folks have not truly "lived MC" until they've heard her remixes.

enwar00 (36,959) by Stacey from USA
I had been a fan for a few years and had no clue about Mariah's other world of songs - her remixes. Oh my, this song introduced me to a whole other side of MC. I love this remix. Have you heard the club remix to ABMB? It's from David Morales. I can send it to you via email if you like. That remix is awesome too.

MC and Christmas (36,946) by Stacey from USA
Mariah owns Christmas. No doubt about that. I love Celine's Christmas album for different reasons. I'm surprised Celine held a higher spot than MC. Not anymore. It's all good. I love both CDs for different reasons and am grateful I have them both to listen to this "most wonderful time of the year". Awww, love Andy Williams too. If MC is Ms. Christmas, he's Mr. Christmas, lol.

Deedre (36,945) by Stacey from USA
I sold my collection in 2007. In my catalog, I had Jesus Born On This Day and Miss You Most. MYM was a hard one to get go of. Her Christmas promos were my favorites. I sold my MYM for $300 in 2007. I'd say with the economy the way it is, I wouldn't pay more than $300. My copy was in mint condition with no CD scratches, rips, bents or tears to the inlay. The same goes for JBOTD. I can't remember what I sold my copy for, but I think it was around $150-$200. I'd probably look to paying closer to $150. My copy was also in perfect condition with no CD scratches, marks, bents, etc. I sold my collection before the 2008 economic collapse. You might even score better deals now with the way things are. I hope my info I've giving you helps. Good luck.

Huff Post / AIWCFIY and Jimmy Fallon (36,940) by Stacey from USA
Yeah, Nattalie, some things just need to be kept private, lol. That was one of them. I've always tried to give Nick a fair shake. On this, though, not in the best of taste. But, to each their own. Yes, all fans' opinions on the matter are pointless. All fans. Peace. I don't even have a twitter account. *laughs* Anyway, it's so yesterday for me. I can't get enough of her AWIFCIY version off Jimmy Fallon. Thanks to Deedre, I have it on my mp3 playlist now. So amazing. If any song deserves to hit #1, it's this song.

Huff Post article (36,935) by Stacey from USA
Haha, I knew the argument "Howard being Howard" would come up. Yes, generally you know what to expect when listening to Howard. He is going to be crude and do/say things for the shock value. And yet, I'll add this: MC has been on Howard Stern before and conducted herself quite nicely. I don't recall MC talking about her private sex life on Stern's show. I'm sorry, but IMO there is no defending Nick on this one. Some stuff just needs to stay between a man and his wife. Period. Nattalie, the older MC gets, the less she cares about what others think of her. I am of the same exact philosophy. However, if my husband did the same thing in public, I would privately be miffed too. I am sure MC is a bit bugged about the whole thing.

Huff Post (36,928) by Stacey from USA
I've been married for 11 years now and I can tell you there are things that should be kept private between a man and his wife. This article is legit. I was skeptical of Nick and Mariah's quick marriage, but years later with 2 kids, I was honestly happy they were in love and making it work. I wish them the best. I wonder sometimes, though, if their age difference will get the better of them. MC has got to be a bit miffed behind the scenes.

Lipping vs singing live (36,916) by Stacey from USA
I don't expect Mariah to sing live every single time. Singing tons as she has over the course of her career has taken its toll on her voice. It's only natural. Celine Dion lipped a ton during her Vegas stint. She had to singing five nights a week. My only point after listening to this latest version of AIWFCIY is it's nice to hear an all live performance like that. It just shows the girl still has the "it" factor. That's all. Edward, I love Stay The Night. One & Only, Get Your Number, and To The Floor are usually skpped by me. After CB, I thought her newest trend was the whisper and I wasn't happy about that. Then I got a hold of preview clips of TEOM and I about fell out of my chair. I was so excited. She needs that kind of an album to put her back on the map. Videos like this latest festive one keep the anticipation high for her next move.

Wow, MC on Fallon (36,905) by Stacey from USA
Wow. That was so amazing. The whole production from the instruments to the kids popping in and out was just perfect. I want more of this. Can I have an HQ mp3 of this too? Anthony, it's not that any of us don't think MC can sing anymore, it's just that we miss these type of "unplugged" performances. We know MC can sing so yes, it does bug when she lips more than she sings. It's nice to see her do a performance like this. Deedre, you are so right. It isn't Christmas without Ms. Mariah.

Andy / Paul / thank you (36,884) by Stacey from USA
Yes, the Miss You Most track people have been requesting was taken off the Miss You Most (usa promo cd - CSK 6647.) I had that official release in my collection before I sold it a few years ago. The vocals are exactly the same, but the arrangement is a bit different. Some say it has a bit more of an RnB edge to it. I hope that helps. Paul, I have a HQ mp3 of O Come All Ye Faithful from her WH performances in 2010. I also have a great, great recording of One Child from that same event. If you want them, post your email. Thank you again to those who sent me the Rockefeller mp3s. You guys are awesome.
