Jazz CD (36,393) by Stacey from USA I would love for MC to work with Quincy Jones at some point. One of my all-time favorite jazz CDs is Q's Jook Joint. There is a song on there written by Rod Tempterton, sung by Tamia, called "You Put A Move On My Heart" that is just amazing. Check it out if you don't have it on your playlist. Great CD. It features Brandy, the late Heavy D, Herbie Handcock, etc. (Tuesday 2 October 2012; 7:35)

Licia (36,346) by Stacey from USA Random thoughts are good since a lot of folks here tend to take things way to seriously. My family thinks I'm obsessed with MC since I traded and collected her CDs for 5 years. I told them they have no idea, lol. I'm quite tame to many fans out there. But seriously, I don't need to defend why I like MC. Her success speaks for itself. Numbers don't lie. Further, I like MC and see no need to defend that. It's as simple as that. About time / BMI Award (36,314) by Stacey from USA It's about-dang-time Mariah got an award for songwriting. We all know she has an amazing voice, but what gets lost most of the time, is she writes these amazing songs she sings. Congrats to MC. Well deserved. (Sunday 9 September 2012; 6:43)

Managers (36,305) by Stacey from USA The difference with Benny, though, was the guy knew how to tell Mariah "no". He was key during TEOM's succesful run. Mason, well said (36,299). The throwback remix is what people want to hear. They want to hear that voice that's amazed us all for 20+ years, not some song where MC is guest starring on her own record. With TEOM, the whole campaign was built around "the return of the voice". It worked and Mariah delievered a stellar album fans/public were craving. Lee is right. We should give Randy a break before he's had time to work it. However, given the fact he's been a good friend for so long, I wonder if he'll tell MC "no" when she needs to hear it. Know what I mean? My yahoo email address contains the word "daydream". I love to loose myself in my thoughts for a few moments, daydreaming. Haha. See a theme here, lol? So, when I found an avatar from ABMB video with the words "daydreaming" on it, I couldn't pass it up. I love that song, the remixes, and of course the album. (Friday 31 August 2012; 10:08)

Collection, first MC song (36,188) by Stacey from USA I use to be a huge MC collector from 2002-2007. Some of my favorite items were Butterfly (Brazil Promo CD), Miss You Most, etc. I had so much fun collecting and met some neat people. It's how I came to find this website. The discography here was one of the most complete and organized collections I've seen. It was most helpful in determing legit releases vs. fakes. I miss those days, but the time did come to move on. I sold my collection to other MC fans who I hope are taking care of those items. The first MC song I heard was Hero. I remember I had the TV tuned to VH1 in the days where they actually played videos, lol. My back was to the TV as I was fixing the vacuum. Hero started playing and it was like a movie scene where I slowly turned around, thinking to myself, "who is that voice?" After that I was hooked. Even though her latest efforts may not appeal to me, I am forever grateful for her talents. She has an amazing ability to put all our feelings into a song we all can relate to. Gilbert, Will, Rod (36,187) by Stacey from USA Gilbert, I enjoyed reading your bio, especially the last couple of sentences. Will, well said. I agree 100%. My apologies to you and everyone else here for dragging this on longer than it needed to be. However, defending respect to other views is something I'll always fight for. Rod, you give me too much credit on how much influence I have here, lol. Eric decides to post what he wants. He has decided not to post things I've written. It happens and I've learned from my mistakes. Eric did ask you to stop. Since only 4 pages of messages appear, I am sure it would be easy for Eric to email you the page in which he told you to cut it out. If I claimed something he did not do, he would be the first person to correct me. Others here would be quick to correct me too. Funny how none of that has happened. Your insults toward me or my career bounce right off me. I just "Shake It Off" because I know they are not true, and so does everyone else here. Peace. (Tuesday 28 August 2012; 20:45)

Now That I Know (36,162) by Stacey from USA I put in an old CD mix, you know, before mp3 players, lol, and found Now That I Know. In a CD full of ballads, this song often gets overlooked, but is a great uptempo classic. I almost wish she would have released it as a final single or even a b-side (ala Breakdown and My All). If I'm not mistaken, NTIK was also done by Civiles and Cole? The song is so similar to Emotions and MIH. Give that song a listen. I had forgotten about it too. (Monday 27 August 2012; 21:59)

One more thing, Rod (36,161) by Stacey from USA Even the webmaster got involved and told you to cut it out, and you know he rarely gets involved, unless he's had enough. I don't recall him telling me to change my attitude in any of my posts. He knows as do plenty of others that I conduct myself appropriately here. I see no need to own up to anything because I am not guilty of anything you've accused me of. My post (36,124) was direct and yes full of strong phrases, but no personal insults of any kind were ever thrown your way. You can't say the same. So, move on. TJ, Rod (36,148) by Stacey from USA TJ, Till the End of Time is such a great song. I wish I could hear it sung live too. The bridge and entrance into the final chorus gives me chills everytime. Rod, how much time did you spend going back and checking all my comments? Oh dear, it ain't that deep for me. For some reason, you felt it ok to insult my chosen career choice and even my country. Might want to check yourself before accusing me of being snide. None of my comments were snide toward anyone on this subject. But, for some reason, my posts apparently ruffled your feathers. That's on you. Nattalie and I have very different views on Triumphant and yet we managed to have a nice discussion. I welcome opposing viewpoints, but not when they include snide, subtle remarks toward other MC fans who they disagree with. Confident in my opinions? Yes. Always right? Heck no. And if Triumphant does well, I will happily admit I was wrong. I've done it before and it will be wrong again tons more in the future. See, I've been posting online for 13+ years now at varous MC sites and know how to conduct myself with other Mariah fans. I was here long before you and I'll be here well after you leave. Peace. Angels Cry / Now That I Know (36,131) by Stacey from USA That's one song I've had on a CD I made a long time ago. I forgot how great that song is. Another shout out to Till The End Of Time. Oh my, just love that song. You know another uptempo that that often gets forgotten because it's on the ballad-heavy Music Box album is Now That I Know. Good one. Great vocals. Thoughts (36,124) by Stacey from USA We are all fans. I don't proclaim to be a die-hard fan, I am one. Period. The audacity of some to question another's dedication to MC blows my mind. Who do some of you guys think you are? Ugh. If I don't like something, I am going to say it. That does not change my support of MC. Crap, I've been a fan longer than most of you have been alive, lol. Believe it. I love how quickly folks judge others as fairweather fans based on one opinion of a song, one opinion. You mean to tell me you love every version of every song she's ever recorded? There is not a song out there you don't like? Yeah ok. I don't expect MC to hit #1 each time. Most of the songs I've listened to recently weren't #1. She's been so successful for so long, I honestly don't care if she hits #1 or not. I live in reality. MC has proven herself. I just want the material to be good, and to me, this falls far below the calibar of music I know she is capable of producing. I don't come here to get people, to be negative all the time. I come here to chat and have some fun. I don't recall those who like the song getting slammed, having their fan status called into question. It's just us who've expressed a dissenting opinion that get the snide remarks thrown at us. Enough. (Saturday 25 August 2012; 23:45)

Interesting thought, Triumphant video (36,108) by Stacey from USA I got this from another die-hard MC fan on another fan site. I think it's a deep interpretation of how a lot of us feel about the video: "Oh dear, she's like a mannequin. Honestly the more she tries to pose exactly right to cover any 'flaws', the more it looks like she has a zillion flaws to cover, when in reality she's a gorgeous woman. I wish she'd realize it and stop being afraid of imperfection." Amen. (Saturday 25 August 2012; 1:43)

Nattalie, Geezy (36,107) by Stacey from USA See and Nattalie, TEOM is a perfect example of how talented MC is. That album is proof she is so talented, better than what she's done with Triumphant, IMO. I loved TEOM from first listen. I was estactic. TEOM reminded me of my favorite MC album: Daydream. My point wasn't to start a discussion of new vs old fans. We are all fans of MC. The past couple of weeks, I've been listening to MC's songs, putting togther mixes of her remixes and songs on mix CDs while I work out. This current effort falls flat for me because of what I know she is capable of producing. Even her more well known rap collabos of the past (Heartbreaker, ABMB, Crybaby, My All/Stay Awhile, etc) have that certain edge, magical quality to them that this song just lacks, IMO. It's not about me loving her older stuff vs more recent material. In each of her recent albums, I've found songs I absolutely love. In listening to her catalog as a whole of late, I know she is better than this. It's just more of the same for me, and it's not good. (Saturday 25 August 2012; 1:41)

On the up side, video (36,087) by Stacey from USA At least she isn't running around in a scantilly-clad bathing suit, lol. That concept was getting old. *sigh* This die-hard fan knows MC is capable of so much more than this. I was hoping for something more deeper than this after becoming a mom. The lyrics to the song deserve more than rappers going all over the place. Maybe it's just me. Maybe because I've been a fan since the early 90s I prefer her older material and those fans who joined up later in MC's career prefer the rappers. I'm old enough to remember the days when the music matched the deeper lyrics to give us that inspirational moment. Rappers don't give me that. MC's voice does. That's why I prefer the throwback remix to the original. I'm just not feeling this video. BTW: Some just need to stop using references like "casual fans", etc. Enough already. Charts (36,034) by Stacey from USA More of the same. Could it be the song is not that great, therefore not peaking interest? MC needs to ditch IDJ and go with a team that will promote her properly. Because when you put out a so-so song (my opinion) and don't promote it right, this is what you get. I hope I'm wrong. Something tells me I'm not, though. (Friday 17 August 2012; 4:40)

I'm not complaining (35,996) by Stacey from USA I'm not complaining. Those who prefer the rap collabos have the original version of Triumphant to enjoy. I have the throwback remix to keep myself happy till an album comes out. It's all good. Not every person is going to like everything MC comes out with. So, chill out if someone doesn't like a MC song. I know for a fact every fan here has one song of MC's they don't care for.
