Mariah in Girl's Trip (77,197) by RibbonB from USA So I hear that Mariah makes an appearance in the new Jada Pinkett, Queen Latifah movie, Girl's Trip. It is supposed to show part of her Essence Fest performance from last year. I hear the movie is extremely funny, so I look forward to seeing Mariah's part in the movie. I thought it was a little random that Mariah would make an appearance on the Essence Fest stage, if this was the reason for her appearance, then cool. So glad she sang well that night. I Pray on Oprah (77,144) by RibbonB from USA This really was one of the best Mariah moments, writing this song for this young man and having him perform it on Oprah. Sigh, for the good old days, when Oprah still had Mariah on her shows. They find ways and opportunities to hang out, drink and attempt to stay in the press together, but the only one of real interest is Mariah and her children. Just last year she was expressing financial insecurity and her team did not bother to debunk that. In fact supposedly she fired her old team for not spending or managing her money right. Reporters ask such stupid questions. The irony is he got in trouble for giving out free tickets to her show. That seems like a bunch of crock, but the story is out there. At least her "ears" worked at Essence. She likely prepared more with JD there and her credibility on the line with that audience in particular. Tamar at BET (76,677) by RibbonB from USA Tamar lipped for her life and managed to toss her bewigged head around for all it was worth. I almost wished her platinum wig flew off for the culture. It is amazing, that neither the sound, nor her ears didn't fail her. She gave a flawless over the top campy, fully lipped extravaganza and got a standing ovation for it. Who would have thought?
