Oscars 2018: Could Mariah Carey win for "The Star"? (80,269) by B from USA I believe she'll receive a nomination for the Oscar but I don't know if she'll win it or not. However, she'll win the Globe. She sang live, even the Hero climax she always lypsyncs, and she was engaging, funny, and self depreciating. Watching the performances a second time showed how she played it safe during VOL to be able to hit the big notes in Hero and I think did an excellent job. I'm a proud Lamb this morning. Mariah Carey paid £3.5M to sing in the New Year (80,159) by B from USA Mariah isn't going to lypsync tonight, she knows how high the stakes are. If she wants to make a comeback which seems like a possibility after AIWFCIY finally reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. She'll sing in a range she's comfortable and she'll hit a few whistles and sustained a note in or two. Best believe she'll be well rehearsed and prepared for this performance. Nash has obviously been rehired if she's receiving such a hefty payday and I'd bet with a clause in her contract that if any technical issues arise DCP pays a huge sum. He did get her her huge Virigin deal and buyout. I have no doubt she'll slay this performance with confidence. I think she knows Stella and company were to blame for last years snafu. Her career isn't in as bad shape as it was during the Glitter and Charmbracelet eras despite what some commenters think. She looks and sounds amazing and I think she's going to deliver an amazing live performance. I wasn't planning on watching but it's now must see tv. You're Mine, Infinity, and I Don't all charted on the Hot 100 and each did well on the R&B charts. I'll continue to do so until Mariah stops charting or retires whichever comes first. Top 10 Christmas albums ever (79,920) by B from USA Mariah's Merry Christmas is #3 on the list behind Elvis and The Jackson 5. Christina's Christmas album is also on the list.
