MC and Christmas (36,946) by Stacey from USA Mariah owns Christmas. No doubt about that. I love Celine's Christmas album for different reasons. I'm surprised Celine held a higher spot than MC. Not anymore. It's all good. I love both CDs for different reasons and am grateful I have them both to listen to this "most wonderful time of the year". Awww, love Andy Williams too. Deedre (36,945) by Stacey from USA I sold my collection in 2007. In my catalog, I had Jesus Born On This Day and Miss You Most. MYM was a hard one to get go of. Her Christmas promos were my favorites. I sold my MYM for $300 in 2007. I'd say with the economy the way it is, I wouldn't pay more than $300. My copy was in mint condition with no CD scratches, rips, bents or tears to the inlay. The same goes for JBOTD. I can't remember what I sold my copy for, but I think it was around $150-$200. I'd probably look to paying closer to $150. My copy was also in perfect condition with no CD scratches, marks, bents, etc. I sold my collection before the 2008 economic collapse. On this, though, not in the best of taste. But, to each their own. Yes, all fans' opinions on the matter are pointless. All fans. Peace. I don't even have a twitter account. *laughs* Anyway, it's so yesterday for me. I can't get enough of her AWIFCIY version off Jimmy Fallon. Thanks to Deedre, I have it on my mp3 playlist now. Huff Post article (36,935) by Stacey from USA Haha, I knew the argument "Howard being Howard" would come up. Yes, generally you know what to expect when listening to Howard. He is going to be crude and do/say things for the shock value. And yet, I'll add this: MC has been on Howard Stern before and conducted herself quite nicely. I don't recall MC talking about her private sex life on Stern's show. I'm sorry, but IMO there is no defending Nick on this one. Some stuff just needs to stay between a man and his wife. Period. Nattalie, the older MC gets, the less she cares about what others think of her. I am of the same exact philosophy. However, if my husband did the same thing in public, I would privately be miffed too. I am sure MC is a bit bugged about the whole thing. (Thursday 13 December 2012; 0:32)

I was skeptical of Nick and Mariah's quick marriage, but years later with 2 kids, I was honestly happy they were in love and making it work. I wish them the best. Lipping vs singing live (36,916) by Stacey from USA I don't expect Mariah to sing live every single time. Singing tons as she has over the course of her career has taken its toll on her voice. It's only natural. Celine Dion lipped a ton during her Vegas stint. She had to singing five nights a week. My only point after listening to this latest version of AIWFCIY is it's nice to hear an all live performance like that. It just shows the girl still has the "it" factor. That's all. Edward, I love Stay The Night. One & Only, Get Your Number, and To The Floor are usually skpped by me. After CB, I thought her newest trend was the whisper and I wasn't happy about that. Then I got a hold of preview clips of TEOM and I about fell out of my chair. I was so excited. She needs that kind of an album to put her back on the map. Videos like this latest festive one keep the anticipation high for her next move. (Friday 7 December 2012; 9:11)

Wow, MC on Fallon (36,905) by Stacey from USA Wow. That was so amazing. The whole production from the instruments to the kids popping in and out was just perfect. I want more of this. Can I have an HQ mp3 of this too? Anthony, it's not that any of us don't think MC can sing anymore, it's just that we miss these type of "unplugged" performances. We know MC can sing so yes, it does bug when she lips more than she sings. It's nice to see her do a performance like this. Deedre, you are so right. It isn't Christmas without Ms. Mariah. Andy / Paul / thank you (36,884) by Stacey from USA Yes, the Miss You Most track people have been requesting was taken off the Miss You Most (usa promo cd - CSK 6647.) I had that official release in my collection before I sold it a few years ago. The vocals are exactly the same, but the arrangement is a bit different. Some say it has a bit more of an RnB edge to it. I hope that helps. Paul, I have a HQ mp3 of O Come All Ye Faithful from her WH performances in 2010. I was grateful to get my hands on the promo and realized when I played the CD (only once to rip the track), I realized it was different. It was a nice surprise. Edward, glad you enjoyed that song. The live version is awesome. I love when I come across a great live version of a song I already love. Know what I mean? Deedre, with reference to O Holy Night, there are two USA promo releases for the CD. One has just one track and the other has two tracks. I'm not sure about any other version other than the ones you mentioned. Check Eric's page for O Holy Night. Anyway, thank you, thank you, thank you for the edited versions. Love them. Ratings / Deedre (36,871) by Stacey from USA Wednesday brings more boosted numbers for broadcast series, including a four year high for "Christmas in Rockefeller Center". The special was up 11 percent from last year to a 2.1 rating with adults 18-49, a four-year high. Well hello? It's because you can't have a great Christmas show without Mariah. And when she delivers a live performance we all know she's capable of, of course the ratings are going to show that. I did catch one part of the song that was lipped. It's quite obvious when she sings "Mr. Grinch simply can't resist warming up when he looks our way", but that's neither here nor there. Thank you Deedre for the mp3s of the performances. I kinda love the live version over the recorded one. I just wish I could cut out Al Roker's introduction and have the song begin. Know what I mean? Mariah's cleavage / Deedre (36,853) by Stacey from USA Maybe it's the girl in me, but I don't care for her cleavage. You don't have to give away the farm to look sexy. With that being said, of course the media is going to focus on the "girls". MC gives them every opportunity. The media has never been on Mariah's side, yet when she dresses like this, she only adds fuel to the fire. Honestly, I wonder what the comments would have been had she covered up a bit. Maybe they would focus on the music for once. Who knows? Anyways, I am just glad she is promoting "Christmas time is in the air again" this season. It's an amazing song that deserves to be singled out. Deedre, I loved the cover art, etc from O Holy Night. You know there are two versions, right? Check out Eric's discography here. Very well done. I used it as a guide when I collected a long time ago. I remember when I got my first copy of UTS. I felt the same way. Enjoy it. I love her Christmas promos. Miss You Most was a hard one to let go of. I do have the rare version from that promo on mp3 if you ever want me to send it to you. It's a bit more Rn'B-ish than the version we're all familiar with. Christmas time is in the air again (36,848) by Stacey from USA I am thrilled this song is being promoted as a single. I absolutely love it. For an album that falls flat to me, this song is an absolute gem. I don't mind the soft vocals because when the song hits the climax, MC hits that amazing note. Combine that with the stellar arrangement, and this song is just perfect. Her performance was amazing too. You can tell she sung it live because some of the notes were a bit flat/sharp in some spots. Not criticizing her at all. No, no, no. Just saying it's live, since many of us, me included, have gotten after MC for lipping too much sometimes. Jamie / evergreens (36,816) by Stacey from USA Jamie, Bob's message had already been censored when I checked the boards. I posted my response not knowing Eric had censored parts of the message after others had seen the uncensored parts. I wondered what all the fuss was about not yet knowing that fact. Anyway, Eric cleared things up. Moving on. There are a few songs that yes seem to get played a lot more on radio than others. However, I've also heard my fair share of ABMB lately on radio. That song has a timeless feel to it as well. You can't deny Fantasy (especially the remix that was so groundbreaking in music), and One Sweet Day (which still holds the record for most weeks spent at #1). All of us are going to have our own "evergreens" depending on the era in which we discovered MC. I grew up with her early music and therefore thing about songs like Dreamlover, I'll Be There, Vision of Love, etc. Oh my, VOL is absolutely an evergreen. So, I think I'm being objective in saying I read Bob's message over and over and I really tried to find anything utterly disrespectful, and I just couldn't. If you want a disrespectful message, I'll tell you about one Eric sent me that he didn't post. But hey, we all see things differently. Mariah and Tommy (36,754) by Stacey from USA I have a hard time believing MC would have enjoyed the same success at another label. I don't doubt her talent. I've celebrated her as a fan for over 20 years. However, none of us know what her path would have looked like had she signed with Warner or any other label. Would she have 18 #1 hits? Who knows. None of us can say for sure she would have done as well or better at another label. I'm not going to speculate on the unknown. As far as their relationship, I believe they were in love. Look no further than the sugary Music Box album. In time, though, the relationship deteriorated quickly. Looking In is a cry for help if I've ever heard (and a sort of anthem for myself too). The song Butterfly was what MC hoped Tommy would have said to her. He didn't and the rest is history. I can't say anything more. (Friday 16 November 2012; 5:02)

Mariah, Tommy, and Butterfly (song) (36,748) by Stacey from USA Folks, listen to Butterfly. Mariah wrote that song to tell the story of what she hoped Tommy would have said to her. IMO, it's the most personally revealing song she's ever written, ever. After listening to that song, you guys honestly can't tell me she didn't at some point have deep feelings for the man and wished at that time it would have worked out. Butterfly is all about her trying to save the relationship. Listen to Now That I Know from MB. That is all about Tommy. However, things happened and she felt it best to leave the relationship. But for a time, she was in love. I look back to my past relationships and know they didn't work out for a reason. I'm with my husband and have two beautiful children. MC is happy with Nick and that's all that matters. Tommy is a part of her past. He helped make her a star. It's ok to talk about that. MCIIY (36,713) by Stacey from USA It's been snowing here all day long. My favorite song off the album is by far "Christmas time is in the air again". For someone who doesn't necessarily love the whisper, she does it right with this song, then switches it up to the full vocals when the song calls for it. Perfect. Nothing will ever top MC 1994 for me, but I am glad she released another Christmas album. I get to enjoy the above mentioned song plus Oh Santa, and another favorite One Child. That is a great song to remind us who we celebrate this tme of year. (Saturday 10 November 2012; 5:18)

Bring It On Home (36,705) by Stacey from USA The song reminds me a lot of Slipping Away, in that same family. I like the vibe of it.
