Re: Charmbracelet singles (92,306) (92,390) by B from USA
So was I. The One is the best song on Charmbracelet and should've been the second single. Through The Rain was Lyor Cohen's idea wanted Mariah to release a tearjerker bring down the house ballad that was steeped in the media dramas of her life.

Re: Migrate (92,302) (92,389) by B from USA
Usher and Mariah had similar experiences in 2008. Both had their mid-tempo lead singles hit #1 and both released ballads that underperformed as their second singles.

I'm still upset The One was replaced with Boy at the last minute.

Re: Celine (92,356) (92,387) by B from USA
Mariah has never had a decent sound engineer and doesn't take rehearsals as seriously as she should. With that said Caution was hands down a major step in the right direction especially with her singing snippets of fan favorites completely live and sounding amazing.

Re: Charmbracelet era and album (92,362) (92,385) by B from USA
The One, My Saving Grace, I Only Wanted, Lullaby, and Subtle Invitation are amazing songs. Mariah's made a stylistic choice to sing in her highly debated whisper register and that's why LA and JD told her on her next album she had to get back to actually singing and she did and the rest is history.

Re: Songwriter Hall of Fame (92,375) (92,383) by B from USA
Agreed. I just finished college and will graduate in May and I'm more excited about Mariah being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Here's to the Class of 2020.

Re: The memoir (92,289) (92,295) by B from USA
I hope she devotes chapters of her memoir to each of her studio albums or at least to her favorite albums.

Bill, we know you love Infinity even those it's corny like Fritos.

Re: Yummy? (92,258) (92,293) by B from USA
Yummy is underwhelming compared to What Do You Mean. So, you like EDM/Pop music which explains why you haven't liked any of Mariah's recent releases. You don't like R&B music. GTFO and The Distance have elements of EDM but you didn't like either of those songs. Maybe you should find an artist that makes the music you like since you clearly no longer like the music Mariah makes.

Re: I Have a Vision of Flop (92,259) (92,267) by B from USA
Mariah's memoir isn't going to flop. With all the ups and downs of her storied career, it's bound to be a best seller. Unlike a lot of you, I don't think it's going to be a PR version of her life story. She's going to discuss her dysfunctional family, her relationships, her miscarriage, and the Stella/Packer era. I hope she includes poems and photocopies of lyrics of some of her biggest hits. The only thing I'm not sure if she'll address or not is Jennifer, Tommy, and Irv's involvement in the events of 2001. Irv has already spoken about it so I think will but she won't namensnmds.

Re: Yummy vs. One Mo Gen (92,222) (92,234) by B from USA
It does. I think One Mo' Gen and Stay Long Love You, and Caution could've been hits but Mariah's A&R person went with the With You which is formulaic and was never going to crossover. Her A&R people need to stop trying to relieve the splendor of WBT and release something fresh and exciting. She looks amazing and if she rehires her former personal trainer Patricia Gay, the woman responsible for Mariah's 2008/E=MC2 body.

It's the second time they've published that story. All the author did was change the dates.

Caution (92,232) by B from USA
Has re-entered Billboard's R&B Album Sales chart this week at #25. it's the album's 47th week on the chart.

Next album/era (92,207) by B from USA
I think Mariah has at least one or two #1's in her and that she can make another comeback. Caution is an amazing album that like Charmbracelet was about damage control and if she releases an amazing collaboration with Bruno as the lead single from her next album followed by a song featuring Drake she can tie and possibly break The Beatles' record.

Re: Madonna accuses BBC of ageism (92,201) (92,206) by B from USA
Mariah scored a top 1O hit on Adult Contemporary and R&B radio with With You but because Top 40 radio is ageist it failed to crossover. P!nk who is younger than Mariah said she was told: "Just be prepared, they don't play girls over 35 on Top 40 radio."

I don't remember him going off on Eric just Andrew. By the way, I remember him because he has replied to my comments on Mariah's videos on YouTube and found me on Twitter.

Re: Mariah (92,184) (92,186) by B from USA
Unlike in the US and Europe, in other regions albums don't have to sell a million copies to be certified platinum. Butterfly was certified platinum in New Zealand for sales of 15,000.

Re: Mariah (92,180) (92,184) by B from USA
She's bigger than Elvis and The Beatles ever were in Asia. So, I don't know why it's so hard to believe.

Webmaster: Just read my message. That would mean all her albums (including the singles) would have sold at least 100 million each. Even Michael Jackson's Thriller didn't sell that much (and that was worldwide)!

Re: New album (92,087) (92,113) by B from USA
Radio isn't ageist? God bless you. If you only knew how wrong you are. Maybe it's different across the pound but in the US once a woman hits 40 her career is considered over (world-renowned actresses, dancers, models, and singers have all spoken openly about it).

Just because you don't like Mariah's latest album doesn't mean it isn't good. It received universal acclaim because it's an amazing album.

Why (92,112) by B from USA
Instead of fighting with each other and rehashing the same old talking points why not celebrate the success of AIWFCIY and how it has secured Mariah's legacy and improve the odds of her making another comeback. I performances everything she did this year from her performances on The Late Late Show, the clips with YouTube influencers, documentary, and the new music video for AIWFCIY. Let's leave the negativity in 2019.
