I revisit Lullaby time to time. This song is a hidden treasure. Lyrics reminds me of Underneath The Stars or Candy Bling. If it was produced slightly different it should be a single.

I'm sure, the wedding gig was booked before the new year. Other than that I agree and I am so sad.

Marissa, all that makes me sad. There is a silver lining. Nobody from the guests cared about any of the performers. Russian singers performed that night as bad as Mariah did. It all was vanity. I'm surprised that she was the one closing the evening.

Tommy at least was in love or obsessed with Mariah. Stella? She doesn't give a damn about Mariah. All she needs is more and more attention and money. At some point I thought that Mariah had made a deal to make Stella famous.

I also didn't see any problems with whistles. She has problems with other registers. I'm more worried about her high voice. If she had lost the whistles I would not be upset. I wish her chest and head voice to be intact. During Gliiter time some tabloids were speculating that she had lost her whistle register due to tranquilizers and antidepressants.

Tommy and MIAM (71,045)
by Dennis from Miami, FL
| |
|
|
I often wonder if Tommy listens to Mariah's resent albums. What it feels like for him to hear "I wish you well", "The Art of Letting Go" or "Languishing". It could be that these songs are not about few persons. Mariah is very careful with the word choices. For sure she uses special phrases only those involved would understand completely. Was he surprised by the Minister moniker, or he was one of those closest? He apologized to Mariah few times in his book about their marriage but he said nothing about anything that happened after the divorce. Like it never happened. I bet it was painful for him to see the Honey video. And even more painful to see MIAM not being promoted as it supposed to be.

I don't think that is Stella. She's too busy ruining Mariah's career. It must be "Mariah's social network manager" Mishka. Or Sasha.

Biopic (70,957)
by Dennis from Miami, FL
| |

I really hope that Stella will fail with the biopic. I don't believe she can make it right. It would be another trashy project. It's 15-20 years too early and Mariah's saga is still going on. I hope she will abandon the idea.

The Hitmaker (70,937)
by Dennis from Miami, FL
| |
|
|
Quote from The Hitmaker. The following is a commentary to the chapter "The Billions-Dollar Song". Michelle Anthony: "Selling tens of millions of Celine records was really important for Tommy, too, because it showed that here was another female vocalist whose career he helped develop and broke who was now outselling Mariah. To be able to replicate what he'd done with Mariah was really important to him. He proved he could do it again. And then again with Shakira. And then, yet again with the whole Latin Explosion."

Re: Giving up on MC (70,912) (70,933)
by Dennis from Miami, FL

I've become a fan after hearing My All on the radio in December of 1998. Although my parents were listening to Mariah Carey, Music Box and Daydream, I didn't like MC then. For me she was sounding too adult, not cool at all. Later I rediscovered her early records. For me the lowest point was the TRL disaster and Glitter era. After that I don't care about GP perception of Mariah. As early as Daydream era there were publications that Mariah "has a special assistant for chewed up gum". All eyes were on her during Grammys of 1996 and many were happy that she was shut out. Mariah wrote Looking [sic] those days. So I don't care what the general public thinks. I am mature enough not to be ashamed for what I like or don't like. Nobody is perfect. Neither me, nor MC. I always have goose bumps when I hear bridge of Languishing. My eyes are wet every time I listen to The Wind when I'm alone. And I've overcame a heartbreak with HATEU and I Only Wanted. With her music life is a bit brighter. She's like a football team I will continue to suport.

Re: Tommy Mottola (70,926) (70,932)
by Dennis from Miami, FL

I can't deny that her sales declined starting with Butterfly. However Sony didn't promote Butterfly the same way as they promoted Daydream. Only two commercial singles were released - Honey and My All. Other were radio singles only. Mariah's fenomenal success was so great due to huge investments and dedication by the record company. When Mariah decided to transition to more urban sound the corporate heads were disappointed. It meant no more guaranteed income from Mariah's sales. In his book Tommy remembers how furious Mariah was when someone in Sony had called her a franchise. She was treated like a franchise. After she didn't want to comply they turned to other acts. George Michael didn't want to be a franchise as well and he lost his fight with Sony. I'm not blaming anyone. Commercial success and creative process pursue different goals. Without Tommy Mariah probably wouldn't be as successful. But I still believe she would be as successful as Mary J., or Alicia Keys, or Sting. If we look at the sales trajectories of many artists we will see the same - they start to decline at one point. Only few of them break that trend. Britney, Christina, Alicia Keys, Avril Lavigne, Sade, Norah Jones, Braxton, even Beyonce didn't outsell their debut/solo records. Probably it's very hard to be reintroduced to take public again. Madonna did that with her Ray Of Light. But that wasn't just a record. There was a story about "supposed spiritual growth "attached to it. It turned out to be one more mask for her. Still the record is one of her best. So I really hope that our girl will have a private moment and will sort out all the mess, will set the priorities and will rise again. I can wait. Happy Orthodox Christmas everyone.

After reading Tommy's statemen I can't get Subtle Invitation out of my head. Tommy is making Mariah a subtle invitation "If she hurts you or misleads you all you need to do is call me." And part about Stella is "She's a damn fool."

Dear webmaster, just for fun, I ask you to confirm or deny only. Do the Stella defenders have US IPs? It's getting more and more bizarre how they kiss each other's behinds. [Webmaster: I know their ip-numbers, but I don't know where they come from. I was thinking the same. Maybe I should have a new emoticon of kissing asses.]

Nick caught Mariah in her insecure moment and abused her. I don't say it's the universal truth. That is what my experience is telling me. I wanted to say more, but I don't want to talk about another artist.

100% agree. At least listen to his advice and get rid of the Bulochnikovs. Don't extend the contract. In an article about Tommy (mid 2000s) some music executive said that Tommy still holds the handle for Mariah. I have no doubt that he could bring her back to the top. I've alway had a feeling that the song Circles was inspired by the encounter with Tommy and Thaila in 2004. All of them look awkward on the pictures. It was really nice to see him saying that about Mariah after he named Beyonce the greatest singer of our time in 2013 radio interview.

I wish she did like Madge with her first child - just used a man as a donor. But our girl is not like that. I wish there was no Nick Cannon noncence in her life. She would have continued successful E=MC2 era. Nick often says that the Kardashians are the most down to earth people in entertainment. So I am not surprised that he demanded that amount of money for divorce. Why didn't she married Mark Sudak or somebody more decent.

I don't care. When Beyonce had her national anthem moment, or Christina had her national anthem moment, fans and haters alike were bashing them. Bey turned that into good buzz for her next album at that time. So it all depends on the next step. It's midnight in my spot of the world. Happy NY everyone. "Don't be afraid, stand toll and say...". I respect all of your opinions, just take it easy and don't make harm to your health by all that negativity.
