I'm not against her acting (I actually liked her in Wisegirls). There's room for her to get better with acting if she's really serious about it. I just want her to choose roles that stray away from the diva persona and the typical "Mariah" role. I feel like she can do more than playing herself (diva or singer). I want her to get out of her comfort zone.

Wrote 20 paragraphs full of nothing and the fact still remains that the Glitter movie was terrible and I actually paid to go see that mess. Lol. On a happier note that soundtrack is a masterpiece. I agree that was the highlight of the whole era. If it wasn't for that album I'd file Glitter under my list of things I don't talk about. Lol.

I absolutely love this mix. It's so beautiful to me. I've always loved UTS, but this mix gives it new life. No background vocals, just her.

I agree. That Genius interview was everything. I absolutely love when she lets the world know just how knowledgeable she is about the industry. She left Shaderiah and Divariah tied up in the basement and let Businessriah shine through and I loved every minute. That whole interview embodied what I wanted Mariah's World to be like with fun moments thrown in.

Lol I'm not wasting my time. Honestly though I think it's the Packer/Mariah/Banaka bullsh*t situation that has really kept me from watching the video. I don't even listen to the song anymore. I'm not getting into Infamous. I'd like to pretend none of it happened. Lol.

Best videos: 1. Breakdown (I could write a book on everything I love about this song and video) 2. TMB (I love it because it's silly and fun) 3. Heartbreaker (that fight scene is everything) 4. Obsessed (Mariah as a dude will always be hilarious to me) 5. WBT 6. Fantasy
Worst/leased liked: 1. H.a.t.u. (Love Takes Time crap video part 2) 2. Love Takes Times 3. Crapfinity 4. I Want To Know What Love is (I could have made a better video with a $20 budget) 5. Boy (I Need You)
I wanted to put I Don't on my worst list, but I still haven't watched it. I've only seen 1 clip. I'm sure it sucked though. Lol.

Seriously that was my baby daddy from back in the day Devante doing the speaking part on the Beautiful Ones? I knew it wasn't Sisqo. I thought it was Nikio talking. I'm interested to know how she got Devante to do it as well. Now this is making me wonder how the song would have sounded with Jodeci and not Dru Hill.

Re: Mariah Carey writes, performs "mixed-ish" theme (90,545) (90,548)
by Licia from USA

I agree with all of this. It's awesome that they thought so much of her as an artist to allow this to happen. Since this is something close to her heart I have no doubt that she put her all into making this a great song. Kudos to her and her team or whomever pushed to make this happen.

Mariah Carey writes, performs "mixed-ish" theme (90,544)
by Licia from USA

This is awesome. I can't wait to hear the song and watch the show. Black-ish is one of my favorite shows and I'm hoping mixed-ish is just as good. Grown-ish is geared to a younger crowd so I've never watched, but I've heard good things. Anyway back to the original point, I can't wait to hear the song. Lol.

Re: The record has been broken (90,488) (90,494)
by Licia from USA
| |
|
|
I agree. Instead of being mad at her record being broken I choose to celebrate the fact that she held on to it for so long. With the way the industry has changed there probably won't be another song that will hold this particular record for 24 years. She didn't lose in my eyes and there's nothing to be mad about. if nothing else it makes me prouder of her and what she accomplished.
To add on to my previous comment. For the people who are mad at Lil Nas for what he achieved, Mariah went through the same thing when she got more number ones than Elvis and came second to The Beatles. Their fans thought her music was sh*t too and wasn't worthy. I can agree OTR is not the song I'd vote for to dethrone OSD even though I like it, but I won't act like him and his team didn't work just as hard to make the song a success as she has her whole career. Lets just be fair and let him have his moment. She was once in his shoes.

I agree about the unreleased songs. I want to hear them all and I'm willing to pay for them all. I also want this to happen while she's still living. I hate when family and record companies release unreleased music after the death of an artist.

I'm honestly surprised that Tommy nor Sony pushed for this to be released. That would have been a huge money maker. Could potentially be a huge money maker now because the older fans would definitely purchase it. It would be amazing.

Although I like Old Town Road, I never thought this particular song would break her record, but it did and there's not much we can do about it. It was going to happen eventually. Nonetheless no one can take away all that she's accomplished. I agree Edward about being glad it's been broken. I'd like her to make great music without feeling the pressure to relive former glory.

I probably shouldn't tell you that I didn't care for the video. The way you describe it makes it sound so stinking great, but when I listen to the song it falls flat. I initially thought that maybe because I can't relate to the song that's why I've never felt it like you all, but I can't relate to a lot of songs yet I love them. I'm going to listen to this remix that was posted and I'll listen to the original song one last time. I really want to like it.

I'm still not into The Roof. I've been trying hard to hear what you all are hearing that makes it so great, but I get nothing. Now Breakdown is another story. I've said this before, but Breakdown is a masterpiece. Of all of her songs with rap artists this one to me is the most well put together hip hop infused songs. Nothing was out of place. The vocals were great and the raps matched the song perfectly (I'm still pissed at Rick Ross and his strippers on Triumphant lol). She could not have picked a better group to collaborate with imo.

4th of July revisit (90,352)
by Licia from USA
| |
|

Not sure if I ever posted about revisiting this song. It's kind of awesome. The vocals just fit so nicely and the lyrics are great. I'm glad she kept it simple with the vocals because the song didn't need Holleriah. The Butterfly album is slowly creeping up on my list. I think it was like number 5 or 6 of albums I love by her. I know some of you are going to pass out from reading this. How dare I put the world's bestest album ever so low on the list. Fight me. Lol.

It was the most horrible experience ever. She never let me go on any trips (so what if I got an ankle monitor and can't leave the US) or be a video girl (she didn't want my awesomeness to take away her shine). The only good part was all the free booze and her letting me teach Roc curse words. Madonna treats me like a human being and not just her umbrella girl.

Yeah and from what was perceived and written. It was a hot mess. Either that person can't write or she was a bit more than extra that day. There's been plenty of articles written about her in the same way and they weren't this weird. So what if it was just Cosmo? It was relevant and important enough for her to participate. Lol.

Ribbon and Bill, Thirsty is about me. Mariah got mad because I dumped her for Madonna so she decided to be a twat and write about me. I was going to sue her for defamation, but then she had CruStella the Hag and her circus freaks come after me so I settled out of court for some gum and the Bianca wig. Feels good to finally speak my truth.

I was kind of feeling bad thinking I was just being a twat waffle about how weird this interview was. After reading a few posts I don't feel so bad. The interview was a discombobulated mess imo, but like I said before the pictures are gorgeous. Give that stylist a raise asap.

Shezz that's very true. The pictures are really nice. I give her and whomever dressed her credit. They knew she didn't need to put lefty and righty on display because she looks gorgeous and sexy without it.
