Re: New album wishlist (66,143) (66,170) by B from USA
I also want Mariah to work with Drake. I love him. I also love you, RJJ.

Selfie saga (66,169) by B from USA
I dislike the close up. It's unflattering. Hard to believe she's allowing these unflattering images to be posted to her social media accounts. I love the full body shot though. I think she looks stunning in it. She's clearly still working really hard on her body and it's showing.

Fiasco (66,168) by B from USA
Mariah was struck in the head by one of the butterfly wings that adorn the stage at Caesars Palace. Thankfully she wasn't hurt and she carey'ed on, lol. She is a pro. The show must go on, darlings.

Re: Am I too late? (66,151) (66,167) by B from USA
MIAMTEC is one of her best reviewed albums. It's a critical darling and fan favorite that fell on deaf ears. Mariah is to blame for the albums failure to an extent. She had professional and personal reasons for not promoting it. She acknowledged this during the Mario Lopez interview. She seemed excited about her new music and her tour of Latin America. She was poised and straight forward and she looked beautiful.

I also still love MIAMTEC. It's a solid body of work.

Re: Mariah is lost (66,147) (66,150) by B from USA
I'm hoping they've learned from their mistakes and have created a new sound. If not she needs to cut ties with JD professionally.

Re: Mariah is lost (66,142) (66,149) by B from USA
She keeps hiring inept managers so I'd have to agree. An artist is only as good as his or her team. Mariah's hasn't had a good manager since 2008, which was the last successful era she had. She has but I don't consider Randy, JD, and Stella managers their her friends. I don't know who her manager was during the Memoirs era but whoever it was also did a poor job.

Re: New music (66,110) (66,119) by B from USA
Shea Taylor, who produced Frank Ocean's Thinkin Bout You from channel Orange, would be an excellent choice for Mariah to work with. I want songs with lyrics that are mature yet relatable like Breakdown, The Roof, Side Effects, Underneath The Stars, Looking In, and Outside.

Mariah (66,084) by B from USA
Mariah is about to embark on a tour of Latin America, guest star on Empire, release new music, and launch a docuseries and these selfies have people talking which I believe was the intended purpose. Love it or hate it it's got her name back out there.

Re: Mariah's face (66,010) (66,029) by B from USA
I don't think she's had surgery or botox. I think she had a temporary filler injected.

A cheap hooker named Stella. She's behind this. I can't believe Mariah would allow such unflattering images to be posted

Re: Dear Andrew (66,000) (66,025) by B from USA
I can hire an expert that says one thing and so can someone else. Therein lies the problem with this type of melodic reduction.

Dear Andrew (66,000) by B from USA
In Swirsky v. Carey, the court found that a type of expert musicological analysis, commonly called "melodic reduction", can raise a triable issue of fact concerning similarity. This article will explain melodic reduction and the problems that the Swirsky decision and melodic reduction may pose for defendants in music copyright infringement cases.

Re: Duet With Ja Rule prevented a sophomore slump (65,991) (65,999) by B from USA
Which case are you talking about? The TGIFY case or the Hero case? The guy that claimed to have written Hero did not receive a settlement and that case was dismissed.

Re: Mariah's face (65,964) (65,989) by B from USA
Have you seen the photo of her with KB and his assistant? He makes her up to look like him. It's like their channeling Ken Paves and Jesssica Simpson. She needs a new makeup artist and stylist asap.

Re: Duet With Ja Rule prevented a sophomore slump (65,970) (65,988) by B from USA
Xscape doesn't sing background vocals on TGIFY, they sang the background vocals on the Mr. Dupri remix of ABMB. The article also falsely states JD produced TGIFY which was produced by Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, and Mariah. This case was dismissed. Try again and maybe next time use a source that knows what theiy're talking about.

Re: Duet With Ja Rule prevented a sophomore slump (65,973) (65,987) by B from USA
I don't. The woman, like Ms. Grande, built her career emulating Mariah. Let's not pretend a shrewd business woman was too young and naive to know what was going on.

Mariah slayed this performance.

Re: Mariah's songwriting (65,977) (65,985) by B from USA
Exactly. C&C brought her the tracks used for the Emotions album and she added to them. She's even said she asked them if they thought the songs sound to similar and that they reassured her.

Re: Duet With Ja Rule prevented a sophomore slump (65,973) (65,980) by B from USA
Sampling was in its infancy. Mariah has credited the original writers since the Emotions debacle. Xscape claimed she plagiarized Traces Of My Lipstick with TGIFY and they lost their case because the melody is different as are the cord progressions. The dude that claimed to have written Hero is full of it.

Re: Queen Sugar (65,976) (65,979) by B from USA
I agree. She was excellent in Precious and The Butler. She also did well in Wise Girls and Tennessee. Glitter was her only acting mishap. Her role in A Christmas Melody was a glorified cameo. I'm glad she's honing her skills behind the camera because her music videos have become bleak. Maybe directing these side projects will inspire some creativity with her next music videos.

Re: Queen Sugar (65,967) (65,974) by B from USA
Mariah's Empire role looks tailor made for her. Lee and Danny Strong have crafted the perfect character for her. It doesn't look campy and she's not acting like a caricature of herself. She looks stunning and she seems natural. She doesn't seem aware of the camera. Lee seems to bring out the best of her as an actress. I hope the song is amazing. I hope it's a breezy throwback ala #Beautiful with Miguel.
