(80,826) (80,837) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada People might hate me for saying this, but I just don't think the Superbowl is the type of gig where Mariah would be comfortable. Mariah has an incredible instrument when she's rested and taking really good care of herself, but she's a singer. She's not really known for putting on the type of stage show that the Superbowl asks for. Could she perform there? Sure. But, I don't think the Suerbowl is the right venue for the style of artist Mariah is on stage. (Tuesday 6 February 2018; 23:41)

Re: Can't Let Go (80,803) (80,835) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada I really really love this song and Love Takes Time, and have absolutely loved listening to the stripped down versions of her catalogue on YouTube. I've thought for years now a stripped down album of songs reminiscent of unplugged, but tailored to what she is able to do vocally. Interspersed with a "storytellers" approach between songs where she offered insights into her writing process for each song would be really lovely. Could be both an album and a live concert. Great way to bring attention to her as a songwriter. (Tuesday 6 February 2018; 23:11)

Re: Can't Let Go (80,788) (80,795) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada I do agree with you. I feel "Can't let go" and "Til the end of time" are gorgeous tracks on Emotions. I remember during the Vegas shows, something so beautiful would happen for me when she did Love Takes Time. It's a feeling I can't put into words, but it takes me right back to that first moment I heard Mariah, even more than VOL. The structure of the song, the heartache in the lyrics and the power of the delivery. You appreciate the rarely played songs. "Can't let go" has a lot of places to go live as well. I truly feel Endless Love is perfection. A masterclads in how to deliver a vocal. I watched the music video countless times singing along and celebrated Marsh's voice with anyone who would listen. It's widely known how much Marah says she hated her look in the earlier years, but I always felt her to be stunningly beautiful, yes the clothing is now dated, but I still look back and think how beautiful she is. Endless Love (80,555) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada I was listening to the single this weekend and remembering how much I enjoy the song. I actually prefer Mariah's and Luther's version to the original version. There is so much texture and richness in the vocal and their voices blend so well. It kinda makes me crave some contemporary work again. Don't get me wrong, I love her r&b stuff but I also love it so much when she does simple powerful yet classic, it's very accessible. I think sometimes things get labelled "hate" but it'd not really hate it is a matter of preference. If it floats your boat, do it. I'd buy the mug on the "tea" shirt if it was available. As for the ball gowns, that's her thing, she loves it. At this point you'd be hard pressed for it to end. I know that there are fans that get fed up with excuses. I get it. The truth like it or not is that performing amidst wheather conditions can influence the quality of the vocals. In addition to Mariah needing to take care of her voice. Was the performance without a few human moments? No it wasn't. She's human not a machine and she's put her instrument to use for over 25 years. As Licia said, what makes a difference is when it's clear she's genuinely putting her heart into it. For me that's what matters more than a "perfect" vocal. I could have done without the quip about the tea, simply because a lot of people don't understand her humor, and it gives people reason to focus on a "tea" comment rather than the underlying message of the performance. However, I love her, I'm proud of her effort, and I wish her an absolutely wonderful year. (Monday 1 January 2018; 23:14)

It is not easy, but it is appreciated. Lots of websites dedicated to Mariah are simply gone, but this one has stuck around, that’s something to be proud of. Not to mention the discography section is very helpful and the news in one place makes things so easy. Thanks for all the time and effort. Here’s to another 20 year anniversary.
