Hallmark Channel deal: desperate or good business? (62,705) by B from USA
Mariah Carey isn't desperate. This Hallmark deal is helping her hone her skills behind the camera as a director. Hollywood is more ageist than the music industry. Mariah has proven herself as an actress but she isn't going to be able to deliver an award worthy performance while also directing. I'm looking forward to the upcoming movies and the three new songs.

Re: Mariah vs Celine vs Jennifer (62,593) (62,628) by B from USA
Jennifer was a promising actress who used her fame to jump on the Latin invasion during the late 90's. She's beautiful and she can dance but she can't sing. She's not an icon of the music industry. She was once a promising inquene but after Maid In Manhattan she made poor choices that derailed her film career. She was the first Latino actress to be paid a millon dollars per film, that is her legacy.

Re: TMZ once again (62,548) (62,571) by B from USA
Mariah Carey is never going to be relatable. She's a Barbie with a voice that could be considered one of the seven wonders of the world. She lives in the lap of luxury and is marrying a billionaire so why is Stella coaching her and advising her to cuss out TMZ? If, most likely when, Mariah receives backlash over Mariah's World she'll fire Stella. Stella seems to think Mariah is Kim, Kourtney, or Khole. Mariah Carey is an icon. Mariah Carey is a pop princess who needs to be classy and charming.

Correction. I wish Mariah had been honored last night, not me, lol.

Re: Celine at the BBMAs (62,564) (62,569) by B from USA
I agree. Mariah needs to give an amazing live performance at an awards ceremony. Imagine her singing Hero at the Olympics. I have always wondered why she never did so during the 90's. An amazing live performance on Today or GMA would suffice though. I'm hoping Mariah's Word [sic] features clips of her performances.

Re: Mariah is cheating (62,558) (62,568) by B from USA
Mariah Carey isn't and has never been promiscuous. She may dress provocatively but that doesn't mean she's a slut. She been with Tommy, Derek Jeter, Luis Miguel, Mark, Nick, and James and she never confirmed or denied her relationship with Mark. Just because she's linked to someone in a tabloid doesn't make it true. Any fan worth his or her Mariah Carey albums and singles should already know this.

Re: Photoshoot (62,553) (62,556) by B from USA
I agree. Mariah shouldn't make any announcements until the album is ready and she shouldn't release a single unless the album is ready. The delays derailed MOAIA and MIAM. I also think that streaming the album for free the week before or of release is a bad decision. I think she should wait until the second week to make the album available for streaming. I want videos like The Roof, My All, and Honey. Classy yet sexy.

Re: Billboard Music Awards: Britney over Mariah? (62,550) (62,555) by B from USA
I missed Britney's opening performance. How did she do? What award did she win? Celine's acceptance speech made me cry especially when she dedicated it to Rene. I wish I had been honored last night.

Re: TMZ (62,547) (62,554) by B from USA
I don't agree with some of the things she's done and said but she was there for Mariah during a difficult time. We can't deny that Stella has had a positive impact on Mariah's career. Mariah's World will most likely answer our lingering questions about Stella.

BMA (62,542) by B from USA
I'm watching the Billboard Music Awards and I can't believe they haven't given Mariah the Icon Award. She is the holder of many Billboard records. Jennifer Lopez received the award last year, right? The year Mariah preformed. Is this a new award? Mariah is the soloist with the most Billboard Hot 100 #1's, 18.

Fantasy is a musical masterpiece. I love the original and all of the remixes.

Re: Yes, you do know her (62,437) (62,449) by B from USA
Mariah and Jennifer are playing up the feud because it keeps them relevant. Mariah handled the Jennifer question well. She was honest. She admitted she knows of her but doesn't know her. She didn't throw shade at Minja she just chose not to answer the question. She's praised Beyonce and Fifth Harmony. She's only shaded Ariana but let's be honest if the media was calling someone the new you you'd be peeved too. She doesn't write or produce her music like Mariah and her voice doesn't compare to Mariah's. Don't get me started on JLo.

Mariah's World (62,447) by B from USA
Why didn't Mariah as her close friends before deciding to do this docuseries/reality show? Daniel's echoed what many of us have said. Mariah is too big of a star to do a reality show and after Idol I would've have thought she would never do it again. I'm going to wait until I've seen all eight episode before deeming the project a failure though. I think Stella is the reason she decided to do this but no releasing a new single to coincide with the premiere is a wasted opportunity. If she did so she could score a hit.

Re: The most overrated MC song and what's better (62,438) (62,445) by B from USA
Slipping Away is another underrated Mariah song. It should have been included on Daydream and released as a single. I love Mariah's cover of Open Arms but it's overrated. I would have went with When I Saw You.

Mariah's World (62,441) by B from USA
While watching E News they talked with their TV insider and she said the new show is a train wreck and likened it to Mariah's infamous Cribs episode which isn't promising. The excerpt from Billboard also refers to it as a train wreck and I'm starting to worry. It won't change how I feel about Mariah but it probably won't do her any favors. Why would she call it a docuseries if it's actually a reality show? I was hoping for a classy docuseries focusing on her residency and world tour with clips from the shows but I guess we're getting Love & Hip-hop featuring rambling interviews with Mariah and Stella.

Re: Yes, you do know her (62,410) (62,411) (62,440) by B from USA
I researched Jennifer not Minja. I should have clarified that. My bad. Jennifer's showed a lot of promise as an actress in the late 90's early 2000's. She's great in romantic comedies like Maid In Manhattan. I'm not a fan of Minja and wouldn't waste my time researching her. I listen to the radio a lot and haven't heard any of her songs since Anaconda with the exception of her guest verses. I still love you, Eric.

Re: Yes, you do know her (62,407) (62,410) by B from USA
Jennifer hasn't been respected as an actress since the late 90's. The Blockbuster Awards are voted on by fans. I didn't research Minja but I haven't heard any of those songs.

Re: Yes, you do know her (62,384) (62,398) by B from USA
J.Lo isn't respected outside of the fashion world/industry and her stylist deserves the credit not her. She's considered one of the worst actresses and worst singers of all time. Minja isn't taken seriously and she hasn't had a hit since Anaconda. Mariah is respected and no diss at anyone is going to diminish her legacy. She changed the face of pop music.

Re: Reality show will be a disaster? (62,386) (62,397) by B from USA
Mariah's recent televised appearances have garnered three to four millon viewers which is now considered a hit. The Kardashian's get between two to three millon viewers and are the toast of E. which means Mariah's World will most likely be considered a hit. This show will likely garner her some new fans and introduce her to the kids that follow Kendall and Kylie. She needs to release a single to coincide with the premiere of Mariah's World or else it's a lost opportunity. E. has a history of making trailers that don't actually reflect the series. The trailer features her recent E interviews and an acceptance speech, do the math.

Lemonade sold 485,000 copies during its first week and Beyonce sold 828,773. That's a drastic drop. I think this drop in sales reflects the music. Lemonade isn't as good as Beyonce and it doesn't have a strong single like 7/11. Beyonce is an amazing entertainer but she hasn't released a solid body of work since I Am Sasha. The point of this post is that every artist has peaks and valleys in their career. I think Mariah has another comeback in her. She hasn't released a bad album unlike her so called successors and peers. I don't like MOAIA but it is a solid cohesive album. MIAMTEC is one of her strongest albums. It does have some not so great songs like Heavenly and One More Try but the good out weighs the bad.

Mariah's World (62,298) by B from USA
I'm sorry but nothing she says or does is going to diminish her legacy. She's an icon. She wrote songs that will transcend time, timeless songs that are classics. She's iconic. Beyonce and Rhianna may be hot now but their songs aren't timeless. Their songs are trendy and of the moment. Plus she's always been known as a demanding diva.

Mariah (62,290) by B from USA
Mariah has been looking stunning lately. Her ensembles at the GLAAD awards and out on the town with JD are perfection. She really needs to release an amazing single to coincide with the docuseries.
