Mariah Carey is reportedly gearing up for war with Nick Cannon over their divorce, with the star complaining her ex is "dragging his feet" over finalising a deal. The songstress wants to wrap up her second marriage to the America's Got Talent host so she can marry new beau Australian billionaire James Packer, sources have claimed.
Carey and Cannon split last August with the presenter filling for divorce in December 2014, however according to the report from TMZ, it's Nick who is dragging his feet when it comes to agreeing a settlement and Mariah isn't happy.
She was in LA this week to receive her Hollywood Walk of Fame and apparently met Wasser and fellow lawyer Melanie Mandles for dinner later that night at Nobu to draw up a plan of action to make Nick settle. Wasser is the go to for Hollywood divorces and was lady behind Kim Kardashian's 18 month divorce battle with Kris Humphries. She won out - eventually - in that one, so expect Carey to get what she wants.
Apparently the sticking point is money. Mariah is worth a reported $510 million, while Nick came into the marriage with just $500k and the star is said to be keen to protect her fortune and get custody of the couple's twins Monroe and Moroccan. Since they separated Mariah has got a whole lot richer too, thanks to her lucrative Las Vegas residency, which started in December.
They're meant to have signed a water-tight prenuptial agreement, which was leaked in January, that contained a confidentiality clause to stop either spilling details of the split. The couple got married after just two months of dating in 2008, but expect their divorce to drag on for longer. This isn't good news for Mariah who is said to be very keen to swap Nick for Packer. The pair went public with their romance last month, with a very sickly display on holiday in Europe.
