Pop superstar pops into Six Flags Great Adventure

Everyone loves roller coasters - including pop superstar Mariah Carey, who was spotted at Six Flags Great Adventure with her family on Saturday afternoon, park visitors said. The singer was hanging out near Blackbeard's Lost Treasure Train, visitors said. She reportedly rode in the first car on the ride. It wasn't the first time Carey has visited the Jackson theme park. Carey and Nick Cannon celebrated Mother's Day there in 2012, joined by Cannon's mother.

Avid roller coaster fans Carey and Cannon commemorated their wedding vows at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California in 2008. At Great Adventure in 2012, they rode Kingda Ka, the world's tallest and second fastest coaster, the wooden coaster El Toro, the stand-up coaster Green Lantern and the flying coaster Superman: Ultimate Flight.

This weekend is the beginning of Fright Fest at the park, which debuted several new events, according to a Six Flags news release. "Six Flags Great Adventure promises its biggest, scariest Fright Fest in history this fall with 22 Halloween-themed attractions including three new haunts and five new shows. The seven-week festival that features family-friendly Thrills by Day and a zombie-filled Fright by Night begins September 19 and runs weekends through November 1 and includes admission to some of the world's best and most terrifying thrill rides," the release said.
