Mariah Carey's diamond choker is $500,000 gift
|
They've made no secret of their blossoming romance, stepping out proudly arm-in-arm at a string of VIP events in recent months. And as their relationship continues to flourish, it seems James Packer is determined to keep Mariah Carey happy. His most recent token of love was an extravagant diamond necklace that cost an eye-watering $500,000.
Clearly delighted with her Van Cleef and Arpels accessory, the songstress has barely taken it off while taking part in interviews on American television throughout the week. It is the second necklace James has gifted the blonde beauty since their courtship began. In July she was spotted stepping out with a heart-shaped yellow diamond strung around her neck. The 18-carat pendant is understood to have cost around the same amount as his most recent gift.

Appearing on the Steve Harvey show earlier this week, Mariah, 45, joked about the necklace which James presented her with at the opening of his casino in Macau. "Oh, this old thing?" she joked before admitting: "This is a Van Cleef & Arpels piece that my new beau got for me recently. This was a very, very big surprise. Really nice. I wore it that night. He was opening a casino."
The singer wore the impressive necklace again for a separate interview with Kelly and Michael. The 33.95-carat necklace, named the Olympia, is part of the jeweller's White Diamond High Jewellery collection. According to The Sydney Morning Herald, it carries the same hefty price tag as Packer's first gift for Mariah.

Why do these articles always sound like it's a bad thing for Mariah to wear or buy expensive stuff? She's rich, why shouldn't she enjoy it. At least Mariah worked for her millions and weren't just born into it like the Hilltons or the Kardasions, good on her for snagging a billionaire boyfriend I say.  Mariah or her kids won't need to work again if she marries Packer.

I actually looked up the Olympia necklace that Packer gifted Mariah, and it was more like a $300k gift. But to put it into pop culture terms, Mariah's wearing Kylie Jenner's ferrari on that neck. Bloop. Only a diva can do that lol.
