Mariah Carey's new marriage will be missing one thing

Mariah Carey is out to prove that, this time around, her marriage is really forever. So she and her hubby-to-be are proving it in a big way: They are not going to have a prenuptial agreement. According to Radar Online, Carey and her new fiancé, Australian billionaire James Packer, have decided that they want to be together forever, so what would be the point? An insider said, "It seems like she has convinced him that there is really no need to even have one to begin with."

Usually a prenup is an issue because one party is much wealthier than the other, but in this case, both Carey and Packer have their own money. Carey's net worth is reportedly around $520 million. And if you think that sounds like a lot, it's pocket change compared to Packer's reported worth, which comes in somewhere around $4.7 billion. The insider continued, "She told him that she really doesn't need his money because she has plenty of her own."

Carey and Packer have been caught up in a whirlwind of a relationship, dating less than a year, but this source claims, "James said he did not want to upset Mariah by focusing on the whole prenup thing because she would like to think that they will be together forever. Bringing up such a minor issue would just take the romance out of the equation."

Carey and Packer are clearly in a rush to get to the altar. The source said that Packer wanted to propose on Valentine's Day but couldn't wait any longer and said, "She has wanted to be his wife pretty much since they first got together and has already started to plan what type of wedding she wants to have."

Of course, I wish the happy couple all the love and luck in the world, but this being Carey's third marriage and knowing that more than 70 percent of third marriages end in divorce, do you think it's a good idea for Carey and Packer not to have a prenup?

They will have a prenup. This is nonsense. He's been married before and even one of his ex-girlfriends took him for millions without being married to him.
