He liked it, so he put a ring on it and now the James Packer and Mariah Carey wedding is rumoured to be heading to North Queensland. The rumour mill has been working overtime since Mr Packer proposed a little over a week ago, with the latest gossip suggesting the pair will wed on Hayman Island.
A One & Only Hayman Island spokeswoman said yesterday the resort couldn't confirm the rumours the pair would tie the knot at the "ultra-luxury" resort. Richard Anthony, from Pioneer Jet Whitsundays, said they were yet to be asked to ferry the couple over to the island from the mainland in their jet boats.
"Obviously being a jet boat, we get them there very quickly, doing spins, nose dives, the whole lot," Mr Anthony said "I think they (Mr Packer and Ms Carey) would love doing it."
Mitch Andrews, owner of popular Airlie Beach restaurant Little Vegas Burger and Bar, said he also had not been contacted about catering but said his Americana-style menu could offer a taste of home for the US singer.
