Nick Cannon is denying a report claiming he's trying to stall his divorce from Mariah Carey. The "America's Got Talent" host slammed the rumor on Twitter saying it was nothing but a "lie".
After TMZ reported that Cannon wasn't ready to officially end things with his estranged wife and was not signing their divorce papers, the 35-year-old actor responded on Twitter writing: "Slow news day, huh? Going back to the same well. How many times you all going to report this lie? Tell your so called 'sources' to call me."
As previously reported, the outlet claimed that Carey has been trying to get Cannon to sign the papers for almost a year and she was frustrated over the delay. Sources connected to the couple said Cannon wasn't onboard with her marrying fiancé, James Packer.
In March, Cannon opened up about his ex moving on telling "Extra" that he was happy for her and the Australian businessman. "I think we're all mature enough and have grown to love each other in so many different ways that you just want to see people that you care about in the happiest situation possible," he explained.
The "Real Husbands of Hollywood" star also congratulated the "Obsessed" singer and Packer in January, shortly after they confirmed their engagement. "Congrats to Mariah Carey and James. May God bless your future union. Great people, great couple," he captioned a meme poking fun at his reaction to the engagement.
Carey and Packer are said to be getting married this summer on the island of Barbuda in the Caribbean. According to a previous report by TMZ, the wedding ceremony will be small and include only about 50 guests.
