Yesterday, during a celebration of Bastille Day in Nice, France, eighty-four people including 10 children were killed when a 31-year-old man sped down a crowded promenade in a truck in what has been called "terrorism of opportunity" by France's President François Hollande. Along with the 84 dead, fifty-two people remain in critical care. After news of the attack broke, many artists from the music world took to Twitter to offer their thoughts and prayers.
Mariah Carey: "My heart grieves for the people of Nice, near where we are now. Praying for more peaceful times for France and for all around the world."
