Mariah Carey at The Lego Batman Movie LA premiere

Mariah Carey might be most famous for her vocal abilities but she has been using them for a different purpose other than singing. The 46-year-old Elusive Chanteuse is a star of the new Lego Batman film in which she lends her voice to the animated character Mayor McCaskill.

With the film having it's Los Angeles premiere this weekend, the Grammy award winning star was among guests on the red carpet to celebrate the new animated comedy. And Mariah was not alone - as she brought her twin children Moroccan and Monroe for the exclusive screening of the film.

Arriving on the red carpet in an eye-catching green sequin jacket, the chart topping star looked please to be in attendance as she arrived. Wearing heels, jeans, a pair of shades, and her sequin coat zipped low, Mimi led her five-year-old twins down the red carpet at the Regency Village Theatre in Westwood on Saturday.

Approaching the adoring crowds of fans, Mariah was more than happy to sign autographs ahead of the screening. Meanwhile she accompanied young Mo and Ro as they rubbed shoulders with giant costumed Lego style characters.

Before reaching the premiere, Mariah expressed excitement on social media sharing a photo of herself and her daughter. "On our way to The Lego Batman Movie premiere. See you soon," she wrote alongside the snap which she shared with her 5.2 million followers on Instagram.

Mariah's twins are from her former marriage to TV host Nick Cannon - the two announced the end of their marriage in 2014. The singing superstar went on to date Australian billionaire James Packer with an engagement announced in January 2016.

However by October the same year the wedding plans were called off and it was later suggested Mariah had found new love with a backing dancer named Bryan Tanaka, 33. The fall of her engagement and rise of her romance with Bryan was recently captured on the E! Network reality show Mariah's World which offered fans a peek inside the diamond encrusted life of the singer.

Last week the star unveiled the music video to her first song post relationship with James Packer. Titled I Don't, the video for the break-up ballad shows Mariah seemingly destroy a custom made Valentino wedding dress - reported to have cost $250,000 (£200,000).

The Lego Batman Movie is due for release in the UK on Friday 10 February 2017.
