It's Christmas in July! Queen of Christmas Mariah Carey has revealed that she will have a new single out this holiday season. Famously festive for her hit All I Want For Christmas Is You, Mariah will have a new yuletide track out in 2017 named The Star.
The Star will accompany an animated movie of the same name from Columbia Pictures, which stars Steven Yeun, Oprah Winfrey and Kelly Clarkson voicing an assortment of animated people and animals who re-tell the classic story of Jesus' birth with several comedic twists.
The Star, which is masterminded from the team behind Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, is not to be confused with another animated Christmas movie project that Mariah is also involved with. It was announced by Mariah herself back in March that her classic All I Want For Christmas Is You will be made into a movie, with updates expected to come soon from the flick's official Twitter account.
Essentially for all Mariah fans, this Christmas may be one of the biggest and best yet. Mariah's AIWFCIY originally peaked at Number 2 back in 1995 and has re-entered the Official Singles Chart Top 40 every year since 2008. The song reached as high as Number 5 in 2016.
