Mariah Carey promotes her new candy line

It was a full house at the grand opening of the Sugar Factory American Brasserie in Bellevue Wednesday night, but the opening was only half of it. The majority of VIP guests were there to catch a glimpse of superstar singer Mariah Carey. Carey was at the opening of the new candy store and restaurant to promote her retail and candy line, "Mariah Carey Christmas Factory".

Curated by Carey, the line features candy-themed ornaments, custom Mariah Carey cookies and branded goods, such as candles, snow globes, chocolate-covered pretzels, holiday-flavored cotton candy, gift-wrapping ribbon and tags and feather Christmas trees and socks. While select items from her new line can be purchased online at the end of September, her entire line of more than 100 retail and candy items, which includes t-shirts, will be available on November 1.

Carey's most popular song, "All I want for Christmas is You" is just one of many songs that have led to 220 million records sold, making her the best-selling female artist of all time. Located at The Shops at The Bravern, Sugar Factory opens 3 p.m. Thursday. For more information on the candy shop and restaurant/bar, visit www.sugarfactory.com.
