5 Music videos that take you on a roller coaster ride

There are specific places and activities that artists like to utilize in their videos a lot, like the beach. A stage. Or a random forest. Sure, they all find a way to make it their own, but it can still be fun to note patterns between certain visuals. One other trend we keep noticing is the slightly more random roller coaster. LA singer-songwriter Miya Folick recently released her video for "Give it to Me", and it definitely does a good job of using the classic amusement park setting. It also got us thinking, so here's our five favorite videos that put a fun spin on the amusement park trend.

1. Miya Folick - "Give it to Me"
Let's start with the most recent one, Miya Folick's video for "Give it to Me". The entire song features Folick in the front seat of a rollercoaster, and the twists, turns, and drops adjust as the music gets slower and faster. This isn't your typical smiley, playful roller-coaster video, as the singer visibly goes through a journey of various emotions. Suddenly the cliched metaphor "life is a rollercoaster", becomes too real here.

2. Mariah Carey - "Fantasy"
This Mariah Carey classic is just an ode to the 90's in every way. The video features a young Mariah roller-blading along the boardwalk and flirting with the camera on a wooden roller-coaster. The party continues as she celebrates on top of a car, surrounded by dancers. This is definitely a feel-good Summertime spectacle, and even directed by Queen Mimi herself.

3. Bon Jovi - "Roller Coaster"
I'd say the use of the roller-coaster is pretty fitting for a song entitled "Roller Coaster". In this video, Bon Jovi plays music in the center of an amusement park, and the camera zooms into fast-food signs such as "Funnel Cakes", "French Fries", and "Cold Beers", as well as smiling couples. The video production manipulates speed and angles in a way that makes you feel like you're actually spending a day in the amusement park. The best part is when he sings, "Life ain't a merry-go around." Well, it clearly is in this music video.

4. Katy Perry - "Chained to the Rhythm"
This roller-coaster video is so fun, so eccentric, and so Katy. This is definitely not your real-life amusement park. Katy and her decked out squad live it up on a roller-coaster, drink a blue liquid that blows out fire at the top, and watch 3D black and white programming on garden deck chairs. Also, remember the amusement park ride with swings that spins around and makes you really dizzy? Well in this video, a bunch of small houses hang on a swings-like ride. Indulge your imagination.

5. Alyssa Reid - "Rollercoaster"
Canadian singer Alyssa Reid is clearly having a blast in her song "Rollercoaster". (Hey Bon Jovi and Alyssa, great minds think alike with song titles?) The video alternates between Alyssa dancing in front of computerized psychedelic backgrounds and a girl's day out at the amusement park. This roller coaster video really raises the bar by including a waterpark ride that splashes right towards you. How can you compete with that?
