Mariah Carey lovingly filmed her children opening gifts on Christmas morning during their annual luxury getaway to Aspen. On Christmas Day she uploaded a sweet montage of her little ones scampering over to their presents under the lavishly appointed Christmas tree.
Mariah, 52, was also joined by her dashing boyfriend Bryan Tanaka, 39, her erstwhile backup dancer, whom she has been dating since 2016. The heartwarming scene unfolded in a sprawling $22 million Aspen home that Essence reports she has rented out via Airbnb.
At the start of the video she was outdoors on Christmas Eve, decked out in a plunging Mrs. Claus outfit that flaunted her ample endowments. Cooing over one of the live deer she had enlisted for her Christmas experience, she wished her fans a merry Christmas and blew them a kiss.
The following morning her children could be seen nudging her as she slept peacefully in, completely hidden by her comforter. In a flash the bedclothes flew off her and she declared: "Let's go," heading off to the Christmas tree to get the proceedings underway.
Moroccan could be seen selecting which of his gifts to open first and then tearing at the wrapping of one present that particularly "excited" him. Mariah also turned the camera to Monroe, showing her viewers the notes she had designed for her daughter's gifts reading: "To: Roe," and "From: Mommy."
"Do you guys like my little thingies?" Mariah asked while letting her staggering 11.5 million Instagram followers get a glimpse of the gift tags. Mariah's 2020 recording of the Big Band Era seasonal classic Sleigh Ride was playing, prompting Bryan to remind the children: "This is your Mommy's song."
During a recent interview with USA Today, Mariah revealed the extent to which she has tailored her home life around the festive season. "When I'm not on stage and I'm in holiday mode, there are rules that I set. I don't care who it is - the kids, if I have guests, whatever - nobody is allowed to play or watch anything other than a Christmas-related thing," she said.
"If I wake up in the middle of the night and walk into the living room, and the music isn't playing and the lights aren't on, I just can't handle it."
