It seemed like Mariah Carey was aware that the Christmas season in the Philippines begins in September. On X (formerly Twitter), Mariah reposted a report from a fan page stating that her song "All I Want For Christmas Is You" has increased in Spotify streams since September.
"Not yet!" the 54-year-old five-time Grammy winner wrote. "I'll allow it for my Filipino lambs, though," she added. "I don't make the rules."
In November last year, just a day after Halloween, Mariah transformed from being a witch working out on a stationary bike into a Santa wearing a sexy suit and riding a reindeer to ring in the Christmas season.
"All I Want For Christmas Is You" was released in 1994, but it still hit the Billboard Hot 100, placing first in the global charts' December 25, 2021 list.
