Mariah Carey has reached a major career milestone. On the latest Spotify update, her "The Emancipation of Mimi" album has now surpassed 1 billion streams on the platform.
In doing so, the album becomes her third to surpass the 1 billion streams mark on the platform. Her other albums to reach the milestone are "Daydream" and "Merry Christmas". In a technicality, "Merry Christmas II You" also has 1 billion streams thanks to a version of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" being on there.
"The Emancipation of Mimi" was a huge commercial success for Carey as it spawned the Song of the Decade with "We Belong Together".
