Mariah Carey brought some glam, and a lot of glitz, into the kitchen. The five-time Grammy winner showed off one of her Thanksgiving tasks, making her "annual anointed greens", in her new Instagram Reel shared on Thursday, November 27.
"We're making some greens and I'm very excited about it because it's Thanksgiving!" the singer, 56, says to begin her video while wearing a white sweater that says, "Miss Dior" and her long blonde locks in waves.
"Woo!" she yells (with a touch of vibrato, naturally) as she pours a larger-than-life tub of greens into a steamer to cook. "All of it," she says (still vibrato-ing) as she shakes out every last leaf.
The "Fantasy" singer then massages the greens as they steam before breaking down her look for the outing. "Yes I'm wearing gloves. Okay? That's what I like," she informs the viewers, showing her hands as she hovers over the food.
What she didn't explicitly call out is the oversized butterfly ring shimmering on the outside (yes, outside) of her gloves. Though, in her defense, the hard-to-miss accessory didn't need an introduction.
Next, the superstar shakes parsley into a pan. The zoomed camera angle gives a better look at her crystal-encrusted, winged accessory. Carey pours her simmering concoction over the the greens in the steamer, followed by some oil as she says, "I think it's going to be a good batch!"
The "All I Want for Christmas Is You" hitmaker reached for a tiny tub of chopped garlic and shakes it into a pan filled with oil. "We're going to bronze it," she says as she sprinkles it out of the container.
Towards the end of the video, Carey finally calls attention to her butterfly ring. "You like my ring?" she asks, flashing the sparkler to the camera fit snug over her black glove.
"Wait a minute," a person off screen can be heard laughing in disbelief as the angle begins to zoom into the decked-out finger that's grasping the empty container of garlic. Carey continued to prepare her garlic, and asks the chef for more olive oil to complete the recipe.
"This is going to go in the anointed greens," she explains. "Hot hot pepper, pepper flakes!" she continues, shaking the spice onto the vegetables, adding, "I hope it's not too much." The "Obsessed" singer blows a kiss to the camera (of course, using the hand with the butterfly ring) to conclude her video.
