Mariah Carey and Luis Miguel in Buenos Aires

Between notes and recordings, the singer arranged for a late evening date with her famous sweetheart. He made use of the opportunity to sing "Uno" for her. Luis Miguel and Mariah Carey shared a night of pure tango in Barracas. The couple that synchronized in Buenos Aires for 2 days were present at the Señor Tango Show, which had to repeat especially for them, since they arrived late. LM & MC dined in the VIP section of the establishment on: entrees of chilled salmon and an Argentian pork dish with vegetables and dessert of ice cream with fruit. Later, in a chance to exchange culture, Micky ordered a round of tequila and taught the locals the complete ceremony with salt and lemon "a la mexicana".

It wasn't easy to organize the only night outing in the city. Even though they reunited early Tuesday morning at the Sheraton Hotel, when she arrived from Chile, the privacy on the 23 floor, which was reserved for them only, lasted only a few hours, because at 5:30 Mariah left for Channel 13 to record a special that was seen yesterday and the interview for "The Common Cause" (apparently some tv or radio show, I don't know) that will be shown today at 7:00, where she will sing 2 themes for her new cd "Rainbow" (not USA tv).

Until 12:30 am she answered the questions of Marley and Maria Laura Santillán, she changed clothes 4 times, danced and sang 6 songs (2 a capella/no instruments to the audience). And then, at nearly 1 am, arrived at Barracas in a white limo escorted by her retinue which included her mother, sister, manager, dancers, hairdressers, clothes advisors, make-up artist and various assistants.

Her sweetheart (LM) was waiting for her so they could go to the show that they had to repeat behind closed doors, in a place closed to the public, photographers and the curious. Enthused by the show ("I'm amazed", he praised), Luismi got up from the VIP section and requested the microphone so that he could sing "El día que me quieras" (The Day that you Want/Love Me) with the sextet (group of 6 singers) "Juventango". He also sung "UNO", with Fernando Soler, the main performer in the show.

When another classic was sung "Cambalache", Micky smoked a Havano cigar and patiently translated the words into the ear of Mariah. Despite the fact that Mariah detests cigarrettes (and prohibits smoking around her), she withstands the smoke of Luismi without saying a word. "I'm very timid with Spanish, though Luis Miguel always wants to teach me a few words", she had said a few hours earlier to Marley, in the Channel 13 Studio. "Does he talk about me?" she asked them during a break? Does he tell you things about us?", she continued.

The romantic visit converted into an intense promotional compaign of the singer who, under the weight of so much work and the nervous climate imposed by the security staff, appeared sweet and tranquil to the fans. Yesterday, at halfway through the afternoon, Mariah postponed her departure - planned for this night - until noon today, for she decided not to miss the recital of her sweetheart in Quilmes. Afterward yes, so long, Luismi, we'll be seeing each other.
