About Edouard from France: Favourite song ever : Always Be My Baby......and Butterfly.....and..

Re: Rediscovering (75,148) (75,177) by Edouard from France
Yeah Terna amazing song. It probably didn't fit in the whole concept of MOAIA. The song and vibe are great. Very trackmasters to me although it was produced with Timbaland. Reminds me of Head over Heals (Allure and MC) and ISB/Pure imagination because of the whole etheral ambiance and the light vocals.

Rediscovering (75,142) by Edouard from France
Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel right now. It's such a good album, I almost forgot. [...] RnB, very pop as well. [...] melodies are great and the energy is quite high. BYGK is haunting, Obsessed is just fun, HATEU is so powerful (I actually like the radio edit better because there's no second verse and it makes the song more impactful and dynamic), Ribbon is so "avant-garde", Candy Bling and Inseperable are just too cute, Standing O makes me want to hit someone (one in particular), It's a Wrap is so "MJB", so classy, love it, [...] is so much fun, [...] is so cute, The Impossible is etheral, Angels Cry is beautiful although a little too schmaltzy for me, Angles Interlude is heavenly, [...] is important, IWTKWLI is a great cover, so Mariah, yet very respectful to the amazing track that is the original version. And 100% is one of my fav Mariah track ever.

This song would be such a hit right now.

Re: Former lamb on YouTube make a great point (75,138) (75,140) by Edouard from France
I think he's [sic] video is very good but the tittle is misleading because it suggests that he doesn't like MC anymore which is clearly not the case. In many ways I believe that his position, he's way of thinking about Mariah, is very much influenced by Mariah herself. He is still a lamb, just not a stupid one.

The Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour best performances (75,115) by Edouard from France
Hey guys, in your opinion where (which city) did Mariah best performed each of the songs on her setlist? I love how she sang ABMBB in Oslo and One Sweet Day in Paris (in hommage to Prince)
How about you?

The industry (75,096) by Edouard from France
I know a lot of you don't particularly like Mariah's behavior lately. I've just realized something though. Maybe Mariah is not trying to show us she is relevant. I think she's showing the industry (the media, the label, etc.) that she is. And I think it is working. She is consolidating her brand so that no one can prevent her from releasing an album by saying she doesn't have an audience anymore. She's still in the game. She will move on to making gospel and jazz albums later in her career. When she decides and not because doesn't have any other opportunities. I believe that's how Mariah manages Mariah.

Re: Albums (74,966) (74,973) by Edouard from France
To me Emotions is very close to MIAM. Interesting to remember that at the time it wasn't a big success compared to her first album and people doubted her long lasting power

Re: Things we particularly like about Mariah (74,803) (74,806) by Edouard from France
Haha yes it does indeed. Makes me wanna leave the room and sing in the hallway to cover up the noises they make. Thanks Terna for saying that because at times I'm just sad to read all the negativity. I feel it takes away the relationship and connexion we have with Mariah. And it shouldn't. Your posts, your presence here on this board, as well as the presence of many others, is the reason why Mariah keeps making music.

Can't Let Go video (74,802) by Edouard from France
Mariah's so hot in it, like really really hot, boobies and butt. And it's 1991 guys.

Love your post man. I feel we are fans of the same Mariah. And we all know there's only one Mariah.

Re: WWHL After Show (74,765) (74,778) by Edouard from France
Well she did answer, in her own way. When you know Mariah, you know what she means. I actually like the way she answered about the "did you consommate your relationship" question. At first I was like "c'mon Mariah, answer the damn question". Than I was like she did answer, in a very feminine and feminist way: "I could, I don't think that I should." Very classy IMO. No she doesn't have to answer that, it's private. She's not a piece of meat. She has respect for herself and she doesn't fell she has to answer that question.

Totally agree with you on the healing power of Mariah's voice. Tonight I listened to her recent live version of Silent Night and I love the new choices she made. Sure the power in her voice makes you want to shout. But, to me, it's always been the subtleties in her voice that make me melt, die of pleasure and come back to life. This women is a genius.

If it were to make sense (74,725) by Edouard from France
I want to believe Mariah knows what she's doing right now. So I know some people have been complaining about her behaviour, appearances, and even music (I Don't). In my opinion the positive aspect is that it has completely overshadowed what happened on New Year's Eve. I must say I felt bad for Mariah when that happened. Yet I never blamed her. I think she handled it gracefully considering the fact that the TV broadcasters clearly should have cut to commercial. Because that's what they always do when something like this happens. for the sake of the artist, for the sake of the channel, and eventually for the sake of the viewers. The main problem with this whole debacle is the fact that Mariah's ability to sing has been put into question by some people. The positive thing about her fling with Bryan Tanaka, her getting close to Nick Cannon again (if that's even true), is that people seem to talk about her differently. I think she knows what she's doing. It's all part of the game and staying in the eye of the media and making sure noone stays focused on the NYE debacle. I think it's working.

Things we particularly like about Mariah (74,722) by Edouard from France
Her talent, her spirit, her beauty (needless to say). But what else? I like the fact that she's sung with Trey, Mary Ann and (I don't remember her name) for so long. To me it goes to show how much she treasures the talent and relationship she has with them. I think they are untouchable for Mariah and no one will ever interfere with what they have as a team.

Re: New Vevo for 90's artists (74,703) (74,712) by Edouard from France
Amazing song indeed. They used it in a movie called "Living out loud" with Holy hunter and Queen Latifah. The remix is dope too. Yeah Busta. And the remix is almost as good as the original.

Re: Mariah in Jamaïca (74,641) (74,642) by Edouard from France
I tatally [sic] agree with you. I love your expression "she slayed weirdly". It totally captures what I feel about this performance. I think she wanted to go completely live and carefree. She gives one of those Jimmy Fallon The Art Of Letting Go performance but her team and/or the festival staff played it safe and pressed the studio vocals button. She was pissed. She gave her all.

Re: Mariah in Jamaïca (74,636) (74,640) by Edouard from France
Yes I'm talking about this concert. I'm not saying it is good. I'm saying I love it. There's a difference here I hope you will understand. The lypsyncing part is not a fail per say. I believe she didn't want to lipsync at all. Why would she fail at that? What I mean, and I thought it was clear enough in my previous post, is that I like the chances she took and the adlibs she did, and the changes in terms of melody (like in WBT for instance) she gave us. She wasn't in her right mind. You can tell she's bothered by something. Clearly. But her presence is everything here IMO. I would love for her to take those same liberties with her songs in future performances. Love ABMBB, VOL. It's not a good concert, but it's experimental in a way and very raw. Very Mary J Blige in a way, even vocally. This is Mariah, the real Mariah, not the perfect and bland pop act.

Mariah in Jamaïca (74,635) by Edouard from France
I actually love, love, love, love the concert she did there. She obviously went through hard times. She even mentions something happening the night before the concert. Vocally you can tell she's tired but she's giving her all. She's singing, I mean relaly singing, not she focusing on reproducing her live vocals. She's taking her song to another level making them sound fresh I believe. I think they insisted on her lipsyncing on some songs and she just refused to play the game. Love her.

I Don't video (74,600) by Edouard from France
Interesting to see that the song has more than 17,2 millions views now. The evolution has slowed down but it's steady. It's quite impressive.

This conversation is nonsense. Wanting Mariah to let others wright for her doesn't make any sense. She would never ever do that. I mean, come on guys.

She's in the kitchen cooking (74,442) by Edouard from France
I think Butterfly MC Records is a great idea. It makes sense since it's the Butterfly album's anniversary. Mariah's in charge of her legacy as we all learn to become in our lives. I believe it's a great idea. Mariah wants to make music and she's making sure her next effort is properly supported. When you think about it, Mariah's most successful album have always come with a strong and long preparation in terms of songwritting, image, legal/label stuff, deals, publicity, media connections, etc.
- Mariah Carey: Two years to cook, without counting her journey to write her first album which started way earlier than 1988.
- Music Box: She was married to the head of the label so this album's success was heavily connected to Mottola's influence, good and bad.
- Daydream: She changed her game working hard, fighting with the label, to incorporate more rnb hiphop influences, her own touch basically.
- Butterfly: The opposite of Music Box. A lot of media attention with the divorce. Mottola had to behave. A lot of tension, you can sense it in MC's interviews
- TEOM: A lot of preparation in terms of image, influence and media connection. It felt like a first album ever.
Bottom line, I think Mariah knows what she's doing right now. She's in the kitchen cooking.

Re: Benny Medina (74,248) (74,249) by Edouard from France
Wait a minute. René Angelil and Céline Dion both worked very hard to make her a star. Tommy Mottola didn't make Céline a star.

Re: The Art of Letting Go conversation (74,239) (74,246) by Edouard from France
I understand your point, it's more coherent than Infinity though. I like this song nonetheless. For Mariah TAOLG is deeper than we think. I truly believe she scrapped it as a sign of commitment to her then husband. They gave it another chance and she wrote YME and released it to celebrate the continuation of their relationship. It must have been such a hard time for Mariah. I hope she will adress this period one day, although I totally respect her choice of not wanting to talk bad about the father of her children.

The #Beautiful video is simple yet so elegant and iconic. I always love how Mariah dances in the air and let her hair do all the choreography.
