About RibbonB from USA: I love Mariah's Music.

Re: Mariah's contradictions (64,092) (64,099) by RibbonB from USA
Mariah used to say the only reason to get married was to have children, so I understand why she would marry Nick because they wanted to have them together and they said they were soul mates. It is surprising that she would try to run down the aisle again, especially since she has been adamant that she will not have JP's children. Her age and pregnancy issues aside, she has stated that dem babies might get jealous if she had another child.

I agree it was a bad idea to begin with.

Meanwhile Mimi's drunk boots pictures from her undie clad One Oak DJ stint have made this weeks cover and two page spread of In Touch magazine. It's a bad look. They pointed out that her entourage that night fluffed her hair and fed her more drinks, bran flake, unstellar Stella and DJ Snufalufugus.

I agree Marissa and she gets more and more risqué when she wants attention both good or bad. Sadly, as public attention wanes she tends to do more and more desperate things to achieve it. Hollywood is great, Hollywood can also be a cesspool, IMO. The business of show.

Let's start a list: love and hate (64,056) by RibbonB from USA
Love Takes Time, Endless Love, My Love, I'll Be Loving You Long
Time, I wanna Know What Love is. I'm throwing Supernatural in the love side because our love is supernatural. Lil. And then there is Hate U.

Re: Self righteous nonsense (64,031) (64,039) by RibbonB from USA
I would be very happy if the webmaster kept this subject totally off of this board, because it has never been our business but people insist on tearing down one party in this situation, but not acknowledge that it takes two and that JP ain't perfect. My comment about marriage requiring work is true in general not even specific to Mariah and Nick, and not specific to Christianity. It does seem that she is working hard to make this divorce "work". She even personally commented to Nick on an E interview that she needs him to make this work for the kids, the blending and merging of their family and the people who will be in there lives forever. She forgot that infinity is not forever. She will have to work just as hard to make any marriage work. They might be tired come time for the nuptials what with all this work, touring, travel and "divorcation" as Wendy would say. God bless the children though. Lol.

Re: Essence (64,032) (64,035) by RibbonB from USA
No I know the audience well. Lol. But we will never know how Breakdown would go over unless Mariah goes back and performs it some year. She picked a list from her material that was designed to go over well, I just think she made a great list.

Re: Just keeping it real (64,031) (64,034) by RibbonB from USA
People will judge her, him or them, especially when the Daily Mail keeps posting so called leaks about their respective situations on a daily or weekly basis. Anyway, the guy wanted to know why people don't buy it. Perhaps he was trolling. But whomever keeps posting on blogs about their wedding status, plans etc. are obviously looking for reactions. PR hype. Just like people attacked NC based off of assumptions on blogs. People give real reactions based on real or bogus blog posts. But the children will live with whatever the consequences of grown people's decisions. That is a fact. Lastly, both parties are rich enough that we need not have known anything about their plans at least until they were both divorced. They seem to want continued chatter at least until the wedding on her reality show. IMO.

Re: "The wedding will not happen" (64,028) (64,030) by RibbonB from USA
She will be happy until she is not and no one is "happy" 100 percent of the time. The paparazzi wont snap 24/7 lol. Marriage takes some work and effort too, especially when times are strained. Perhaps if she put as much work into her marriage vs. this long extended divorce she would still be married vs divorcing. Mariah seems to think she can do her thing and everyone must revolve around her and adore her, but that kind of thing only lasts so long. Seems like this time around she is engaged for money and a sense of power. She doesn't have to spend her own, when he can support her lifestyle. The funny thing is she is working harder this past year, to make money for her coffers I suspect. JP keeps his name in the press via his association with the diva. This is a man who divorced his wife with three young children, one of whom was only one year old at the time. Supposedly his marriage broke down due to the stress of working so hard and losing so much money on his business ventures. That is a lame reason to walk away from a family, only to pursue a married woman with two children of her own. The whole thing looks like a big business merger, that's what most people comment on. Whatever the real story is, she will have to live with the consequences, but so will her children.

Re: "The situation" (64,024) (64,025) by RibbonB from USA
Lol Licia, she seemed ecstatic when she married in '08, she seems pragmatic this whole thing with JP. The Scientology part should be the biggest drawback IMO and that has not been a secret to her. Anyway, she will do what she will do and let the casino chips fall where they may.

Re: Essence (64,018) (64,023) by RibbonB from USA
Yes, she has been a lil late a few times lol. As far as Breakdown for the setlist. I don't think that song would have gone over well at all. Lot of people like it, but I don't think it's a crowd pleaser at that type of event. But you are right, we all could make up our own wish list of what would go well. I absolutely love TMB, so glad she does it, plus she gets to act silly with an audience member. Wish she would do it live with the band playing to it. That beat is so infectious.

Re: Essence (64,010) (64,014) by RibbonB from USA
Now, now. Lol remember a black audience once boooed Whitney back in the day. It can happen to anyone. But in general we are warm and welcoming too. Lol. I expected nothing less from a crowd of rich to working class, mostly middle aged folks there for an empowering event and good music. I did read a few grumbles about her being on "you know what time" though. Lol.

Prayers answered, great show, great effort. I knew the crowd would be welcoming.

DJ Snufalufagus (63,998) by RibbonB from USA
So someone tweeted that Mariah's current DJ says to "Shake it off" will be on the setlist. Someone else tweeted "Make it happen" is also on the list. The focus on a DJ and not the band means there's gonna be some tracks involved. Surprise. I honestly believe she will be received very well though.

Re: Essence Fest set list (63,970) RnB? (63,994) (63,995) by RibbonB from USA
Lol well the general public might be cool, and happy she shows up for the event. I think she's gonna bring it, make the band work hard. If she has only 20 to 30 minutes she can dazzle the crowd with lights and glitter. But seriously she must have something planned and ready to go. This is not a Vegas moment but Vision Of Love, WBT, TMB and Emotions might get it done. Prayers up.

I hope she does have fun. I'm on my tablet and can't attach the link, but I found an amazing Charlie Wilson performance of Outstanding from 2013 on Jools Holland Hootanany on the BBC. This song is over 30 years old and still jams. Even this crowd was feeling the funk. Please check it on YouTube. I hope Mariah has fun and slays the crowd because she will have to follow this.

Re: Essence Fest set list (63,970) RnB? (63,978) (63,980) by RibbonB from USA
Maybe, but I think she would include "Don't forget about us" and "Touch my body". People know and love those, especially at a r&b heavy event.

They do indeed. Here's to a great show. Oprah said on twitter that she will be there that night. Ha, if she does the TMB moment on stage with Mariah.

Nola Essence Fest set list (63,965) by RibbonB from USA
Since Mimi is at essence fest this weekend, I hope she does something with a Nola flair. She needs to spice the music up a bit. I can imagine infinity or Beautiful with a raucus Zydeco beat. If she really wanted to dig a little, "Up out my face" or "Migrate" would really play well. She better bring it, having to follow uncle Charlie Wilson and his massive hit "Outstanding".

Re: The negative comments are... (63,949) (63,953) by RibbonB from USA
No one said she is an unfit mother, or that she doesn't have a relationship with God, but it is noticable that she doesn't reference God like she used to. But a lot of things are different these days. People are talking about perceptions and possibilities based on what Mariah and her team are putting out there for public consumption. I know that's what I'm talking about.
