Charmbracelet is an album full of lyrical masterpieces like Subtle Invatation and Lullaby. Mariah is a vivid lyricist. Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade (57,617) by B from USA Mariah is headlining the 89th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, this is exactly what she needed. She needs to give a stellar performance of AIWFCIY and the vindication of Mariah Carey will be complete. I knew she wanted to redeem herself after last year's debacle. We get it, when you're with your black gay men friends on the East coast you're ashamed of Mariah because she can't sing. She depends on smoke and mirrors and lost her voice in 96. I believe After Tonight was written in a key too high for Miguel and they didn't have time to rewrite it or rearrange it so it was scrapped. I remember reading Luis was so upset with the results that he cut the tape up and mailed it to David Foster. (Saturday 17 October 2015; 20:07)

Re: Soundtrack (57,348) (57,353) by B from USA I believe she was being considered for a role as one of the Bond girls. I was in 1997 or 1998. I think people assumed the Honey video was her audition. I think it was a rumor. She was also supposed to be a villianess in Rocky and Bullwinkle and a boxing coach in Sweet Science. I remember her saying Steven Spielberg was interested in casting her in a movie and she didn't even find out about the offer until after the divorce. Glitter isn't as bad as some critics say. I'm not saying it's an Oscar worthy performance or film but it's enjoyable. It's now considered a cult classic. The soundtrack was ahead of the times or is it ahead of its time? Lead The Way is one of Mariah's best ballads, that note is spine tingling. It deserved an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. (Saturday 17 October 2015; 19:41)

Re: 90s MC compared to 2015 (57,255) (57,258) by B from USA I agree. Mariah should be allowed to lipsync a song or two every now and then. Doing so preserves her voice. I never understood why people act like it isn't and hasn't always been a common practice in the industry. Elvis was probably lipsyncing on The Sullivan Show back in the day. However, her poor attempt at lypsyncing Fantasy at the Jamicia Jazz festival is unforgivable. It was like she was sabatoging herself. Self sabatoging is something I do and it actually made Mariah more endearing to me. If and when she does it she needs to do so with effort and gusto. She knows how to do so convincingly so I can't explain that Fantasy debacle. She lipped portions of her uptempo #1's during her Vegas show but it wasn't noticeable or distracting. I think Vegas is the perfect venue for Mariah. I think I might go to a February show if I can next year. (Tuesday 13 October 2015; 16:00)
