About Andrew from UK:

Re: Underneath the Stars/Fourth of July Mashup (82,919) (82,926) by Andrew from UK
So we are agreed in that the "we did this then this and it made this happen" storytelling and the setting of a scene and creating atmosphere is preferential to more "down wiv da kids" lyrics and "you make me feel this wayyyyy" way-overdone stuff. Adele has thrived from it because it is what people have reacted to for a while now. Somebody Like You is a shining example of a heartbreaking moment when you desperately revisit an ex that had moved on. Whether in your head or not. It is a universal experience. When We Were Young is a good example of nostalgia tinged with sadness. People want stories, honesty, atmosphere, mood - not constantly generic lyrics. In my opinion. If one more song comes out with people arguing over who the [censored] it is about - Luis or Motorola or the Smurf - then stick a fork in me. I'm done.

Better to lay claim to background vocals on Tryumfun than lead vocals on Infuhmuuuuuhhhz.

Triumphant (82,917) by Andrew from UK
Why can't I stop listening to this song now? I listen to it and then no matter how much I shower, the water is never hot enough to burn away the guilt.

Re: Underneath the Stars/Fourth of July Mashup (82,915) (82,916) by Andrew from UK
Those two songs are classic with imagery of two carefree young people in the midst of love exposed to the elements in the warmth and abandon of summer. I often thought the Always Be My Baby video was more suited to them. I visualise it when I hear those songs, the two youths running through fields in the dark and swimming in the lake. Mariah would do well to create an updated version, a new track along the same lines and start telling stories once more, returning to a stripped down, non-over produced format. One of the best things about #Beautiful was that it suggested a story, it had atmosphere. That was before they decided to suddenly stop the song half way through. Mariah is at her very best when she tells stories, creates feelings of nostalgia for love or youth or recounting a memory.

Re: Me. I Am Mariah (interview/special) (82,889) (82,906) by Andrew from UK
It's not just that the kids may have colds, Mariah is on stage "worried sick" and unable to perform properly due to the worry. Think about it: what if, um, Roc's nose, er, runs? What if Monroe gets a really really really sore throat? Who will perform the emergency surgery? Who will counsel Mariah through this terrible time? "No one really seems to ask." Take this down, dear: "Dear Mr President: a grave oversight has presented itself. Nobody, but nobody done be asking what Mariah Carey does when dem babies got boogers. Please rectify. Yours sincerely, the fruitloops of the world."

Re: (82,902) (82,905) by Andrew from UK
You created a book about the MIAM recording process and you're studying it to help you guess the recording process of the new album? And now you suppose that Mariah is touring not to primarily make herself money but to make her backup singers and band money. Rightio. Of course the buses don't go where you live - your part of the world can't be found on civilian maps. Give Edouard your coordinates, though. Perhaps he can land there when he visits planet Earth.

New album (82,881) by Andrew from UK
How can you construe that Mariah has any care for anything but touring and making as much money as possible? Her tours are sewn up for this year. The album will be next year followed by a for-the-sake-of-it tour, by which time many of you will have died of boredom, I will have died of boredom, the public will have died of boredom and everyone who has not died of boredom will be telling Mariah how amazing she is as she steps over the dying to congratulate herself on another massive [censored] up with a glass of champagne whilst the die-hards on here come up with every excuse under the sun as to her inability to sell well or chart, but never really putting it down to just how [censored] boring she has made herself. Other artists put effort in. Mariah is on one agonisingly slow, drunken, hand-held, high-heeled march toward musical oblivion. But there's always Christmas so we can [censored] in unison about a song released 24 years ago. Good times.

Re: Greatest performance ever? (82,877) (82,880) by Andrew from UK
Nobody in the game can do what? Sing live? I don't know what you look like but I often imagine you [censored] at Mariah YouTube videos. Honestly, it's like the MCA version of watching teenage girls blu-tac Nick Carter cut-outs from magazines to their walls and announce how perfect he is in every way. Heads up: don't none of those girls got to be married to Nick Carter. You get me? The world you wish to live in is not even remotely comparable to the beauty and truth of the world in which you actually do live.

A Carey/Spears collabo (82,857) by Andrew from UK
"Soft, sexy R&B track with 'heavenly' vocal layering effects." So like almost every song Mariah recorded for 10 years. The only bonus to this is that they would probably never get to perform it live so the lipsync would not loom as a threat.

I am pretty sure it's "take me/ow" but that seems a little, er, well if you think dirty you'll understand.

Can vouch for this. I bought Jade's Christmas tickets from her and she was where she said, when she said and was very lovely and very sweet. And it's not often I pay compliments.

Re: Dreamlover - live 1993 (82,760) (82,762) by Andrew from UK
When I first saw Here Is Mariah Carey at Proctor's Theatre, other than being completely mesmerised that she could seemingly hit any note at any time, I did think that she seemed to struggle singing Dreamlover - or perhaps just did not like singing it. I thought the same during the Madison Square Garden concert a couple of years later. It is a shame because it is one of her best up tempo numbers. The "it was all a dream" variation that she has done live in recent years takes away the momentum and feel of the track which is perfect just the way it is.

Re: Christmas tickets (82,734) (82,755) by Andrew from UK
Dear Snowflake, perhaps look up the meaning of the word "Islamism" before you start spouting your unintelligent freedom fighting, social justice, offended-on-behalf-of-others, bothersome nonsense. "Islamism" is the doctrine that all societies should be guided by Islamic principles, culture and way of life. Islamic terrorism is the attempted enforcement of this hideous doctrine and rather Western-incompatible religion through fear, violence and oppression. Sit down before somebody with a triple digit IQ puts you down, sweetheart.

Re: Christmas tickets (82,712) (82,716) by Andrew from UK
That concert should have gone ahead. I wish Mariah had stood up to this Islamist crap. I put it down to insurance companies perhaps removing cover due to raising of threat levels but this is merely conjecture. Anyway I am glad you get to go. Here's hoping she cuts the lip sync. I hope she drops O Holy Night from the setlist. And rides in on these reindeer those cue cards said she has. Ha.

It wouldn't be a Mariah tour without you gloating about going somehow lmao well let me have a go at it: my friend is pretty senior at the O2 so am getting free tickets and possibly a free backstage meet. Put that in your hole and sit on it.

What evidence do you have to support your claim that Mottola was guilty of adultery? I have never read that - please post links to the evidence.

Ticket prices (82,651) by Andrew from UK
They are extraordinarily high for that show. Whereas I was a fan of the Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour, the Christmas Show was slow paced, almost completely lipped. Mariah simply read out cue cards in between songs and it all seemed very, very short. £140 is a lot of money for that kind of production.

Re: feeding hungry kids (82,580) (82,583) by Andrew from UK
Yes, I don't pertain to know everything Mariah does. It was intended as a humorous observation on celebrities who claim to be freedom-fighting social justice warriors, who oft lecture on the ills of the world and how they should be fixed, whilst they sit on vast sums of wealth that they do not need, that could right many ills for a great many people. And maybe quote something other than a hideous work of mumbo jumbo that endorses genocide, demands that women have no authority over men, requires punishment for homosexuality and so on. Unless, that is, you agree with all of that. Which you are perfectly entitled to do, of course.

Re: Mariah quietly sold diamond ring from ex James (82,577) (82,579) by Andrew from UK
The only thing worse than keeping that ring is keeping the funds from the sale of it. Tells you a lot about the new personality she has spent the past 6 years developing. What about all dem hungry kids she wanted to feed lmao.
