I hope we get a video. Since this is an Ariana project I'm sure they'll push it a lot. Also rumors are that the first time yes, and will be performed is this Saturday and apparently it's gonna be the remix version. I'm giddy because I'm excited it's actually true and also I have an inkling it'll be a re-recorded remix. We saw the snippet of Ariana playing with the WBT lyrics and just an hour ago Mariah posted a video of her singing WBT on TikTok. This combined with the rumors that she is reworking one of her #1's. The note Ariana wrote to accompany the announcement, so sweet and heartfelt. I didn't notice at first but both Mariah and Ariana updated their profile pictures to just their eyes, which is interesting and also there will be physical copies of this remix. This sounds like a lot of planning went into it which is exiting. Ariana has bubbles, hearts and butterflies in the caption, now Butterfly is for MC but anyone knows what the bubbles and heart means? The new picture of the 2 of them is stunning and although Ariana's recent behavior is questionable lol it must be fabulous to have your idol be on your song. The interesting thing is yes and is quite literally Madonna's style I'm surprised Ariana went with Mariah and that Mariah hopped on it. I wonder if this will be one of those re-recorded remixes with a different vibe. The insider accounts mentioned Ariana's new album with be very MC inspired and also that MC fans of re-recorded vocals will be fed soon. Ok ok I'm done rambling for now. I wonder if it's true or if we're clowning hahah. The remix is supposed to be out tomorrow and I saw that an Ariana fan account posted it might be The Weeknd on the remix. At this point there has been so many people's name attached to this remix haha. Also the Nostradamus insider account mentioned that Shakira and Mariah may be collaborating, I call BS on that because the actual news was that Shakira reached out to Mariah to sample IKWYW for a new song. Mariah has said in the past she doesn't want to talk about what she's releasing because people steal her concepts and beats her to it. But she literally has been doing the opposite hahah, randomly we got to know about SUD and that she's remaking it, then we've been hearing about TBL for so long and she said so many times it's ready she's just waiting for a home for it (but why even announce if you don't have a partner for it), then dropping hints about wanting to do a Jazz album, now saying she's mid way through a new album. Also let's not forget we've been hearing about an adaption of her memoirs. All the above projects have been hyped to be released "soon" but for some they've been years and we haven't heard peep. Mariah mentioned on one of her Twitter Spaces that she doesn't want to go into her back catalogue of dance music out of fear that people will say she's jumping on the bandwagon. Which is crazy because she's done it first. Once Beyonce hits with Jazz, Mariah will feel pressured to not do it. I've even heard that act III might be Rock n Roll, which would be cool but then we can also kiss Someone's Ugly Daughter goodbye. It's almost like Mariah takes too long and then others steal her ideas. But it's not really theft it's more that the others are working faster and harder. I hope Mariah doesn't feel limited to R&B because she's afraid to go outside the box. Wasn't being put into a box the problem she had with her career in the first place? I will believe it when I see it but Ariana did tease that even though she won't release anymore singles until the album is out she has a surprise planned. Honestly I don't know what Mariah can really benefit from being on "yes, and?". The song already hit #1 and Mariah being on the remix probably won't add much to her credit. I guess we'll know next week if this is indeed true. She might have since then realized she misspoke and that Mariah is a songwriter and storyteller first and then everything else. I can understand that from personal experience. I didn't know Mariah's work well, infact I was a Westlife fan and one day I hear the Against All Odds collaboration (this was years later after its release, I was a going through my pre teen boy band phase) I was like who is this singer she has a beautiful voice, cut to the MTV Cribs episodes and I was annoyed how many times Mariah was changing and being over the top (I hadn't yet realized her sense of humor). I finally became a lamb during TEOM and then worked my way backwards on her previous releases including replaying the Cribs episode because it was iconic. Once I realized how much Mariah is involved in her music and how she's a songwriter and producer and how she lives and breathes music I was blown away. I was obsessed with finding her re-recorded remixes, checking out her lyrics and all that jazz. It took me more time to realize all the insane layers to her artistry. What matters to be is on stage and in front everyone Miley gave Mariah the utmost respect and the butterfly anecdote to me means she really understood the depth to Mariah's work. Also I can see where her previous comment came from. Even Mariah said she isn't taken seriously as a songwriter. And we all know casual listeners know of her personality before they know about her art. Plus her "shades" go viral everytime. Songs like Love Story, Thanx 4 Nothin, Last Kiss, Bye Bye and O.C.C. were all filler songs. Everytime I listen to it I'm like what a wasted song, should have done better on the charts. The song is so uplifting, catchy, each artist's verses add to the message of the song. I know people didn't like it because Mariah was almost a feature on her own song which was a lead (later termed buzz) single, but overall until this date the song aged well and still gives me goosebumps. Anyways so Carey Insider posted that Mariah is going to release an extended Heartbreak Remix Version, which if true yay because I love Heartbreaker and its remixes but it is also random haha they have the hashtag Rainbow25 with it so I don't know if it's for an anniversary edition? In addition to this they post a lot of songs Mariah registered like "Better Together", cover of "Who's loving you", "Tiiime" and "It's Time", "Hello" and a lot more. I know these should be public records but I don't know how to verify haha. Also says fans of re-recorded remixes are in for a treat.
