You're spot on, also why would Mariah join RocNation if she had problems with Beyoncé? We know people are put in tje "I don't know her" bowl as soon as Mariah doesn't like them.

What could Beyonce have possibly stolen from Mariah though? Doing a visual album? 15 music videos? She was already in her "mediocre and barely any videos" era she sure as hell did not have 15 planned for Miamtec (hopefully). Something doesn't add up there. Plus we know if you do Mariah wrong you don't exist for her. And Beyonce and her kids came to Mariah's Christmas concert, took pictures backstage, they hung out at the Grammy party with videos of them meeting each other very warmly. The only thing could have been the idea for a surprise release. Which would never have worked for her.

See this is more of what I can believe more than the post that came after you regarding a full on T Swift theft moment. I don't think Taylor Swift had any plans of stealing song concepts from Mariah. If it's similar visual I get it but I don't think Mariah would ever use MC 1989 like TS used TS 1989 on her cover since MC doesn't acknowledge time hahah but it could be she just wrote "MC Demo" and used Polaroids and has nothing to do with actual musical direction of the song. I also remember the vault controversy that came up so your theory kinda lines up. Also stated in the other post is SIO being a similar song to Mariah's song - they couldn't be farther apart - MC is a beat heavy RnB song about a cheating lover, T Swift's is a full pop song talking about what people think she's like. I am no Swiftie but in 2014 Mariah would be the farthest thing from a completion to Mariah for her to try to create comparisons, they don't even have a single song that sounds alike but there are other common titles that weren't single just like many other artists might have common singles.

The album concept that was stolen was for the "The Demo" album. Look it up on Google. The album cover would be a polaroid photo of early Mariah in the 80's. Curly hair. The writing on the album cover and back would just using black pen. All the songs would be Mariah's songs from the demo. Mariah claimed that one singer stole the visual concept using polaroid photos and using the 80's year on the album title too and that album was released at the end of 2014. Not Beyonce. So Mariah scrapped the demo album and decided to release No 1's to Infinity in early 2015.

Hahah I wonder if ISIL video was an attempt to make a [Breakdown] sequel. It has the similar story setting in Vegas, Mariah's a show girl, she's heartbroken, it's a beat ballad and so on. Although Breakdown song and video remains one of her best to date. I also didn't get the point of her blowing up the car haha. It's all too much. Mariah is an arsonist on the low with setting her car on fire and then her dress in "I Don't".

I don't think I Don't is MC's worst video as you are eluding to it being. Imagine 13 videos of I Stay In Love directed by Nick. I hate that video. I have only seen Daisy Duke travels to Las Vegas, but her car breaks down in the desert one time. Lol. I was not impressed with that video treatment. What were MC and Nick thinking?

Refresh my memory please, did Taylor ever drop a demo version for that first? I can't remember, I didn't use to keep up with TS back then. But I remember her name being in the mix along with Beyoncé about who Mariah could be referring to. I know even later down the line people said she copied Mariah's "from the vault" visual. Where originally Mariah did some "from the vault" release and then Taylor used a similar visual for her re-record series? But Covid wiped out my memory so clearly I am missing chunks.

I always thought it was going to be a 1989 concept and Mariah was going to drop her demo, with the original version and then a newly recorded version exactly how she wishes her debut was produced.

Haha I think even as a lamb that would have been too much for me. It baffles me why a story teller like Mariah has such weak videos. Speaking of JD, I am reminded of the Facebook TAOLG release and how it ended up being the wrong version and Mariah wrote her iconic "I'm on the bathroom floor" meltdown post.

Are you sure you're not secretly related to Celine Dion?
I agree, Mariah couldn't have pulled off something like that. Imagine 13 "I Don't" type of videos and then, for the grand finale, a half-naked mermaid moment. That would've been career suicide. Thank God she had JD to guider her.

Oh my gosh yes you're right "it's all coming back to me now" hahah. I remember that, and I was thinking wait was MC really going to drop a surprise album like that's ambitious because look I love Mariah and she'll always be my #1 but she didn't have the pull to do a drop like that. Also if it was the other point of a "visual album", did we need 10-15 videos of Mariah looking beautiful and caressing herself hahah. it just didn't make sense to me at that time or even now. Beyonce's project was extremely ambitious and each of her videos were really well thought out (I may not love all of them but they were quite impressive nonetheless). So ya Mariah needs to spill the tea.

At that time, the rumors were heavily hinting at Beyonce. She did two things no mainstream artist had done before: 1. She released an overnight, critically acclaimed, very successful surprise concept album and 2. Every track on that album came with its own video. Nothing else happening in music during that period was significant or relevant enough for Mariah to go on panic mode, confiscating portable electronic devices and putting blinders in the studio.
I was just 10 back then though, so maybe I missed some major events, so don't quote me on it.

Oh yes the greatest mystery that was never solved. I remember Taylor Swift and Beyoncé's name coming up as the people who stole the concept but I can't remember what the theories were. One I think had to do with T Swift's 1989 having the retro polaroids promo strategy (I honestly can't remember what the theory was because I don't remember MIAM having similar strategy). If anyone remembers do share.

I last remember seeing studio pics for MIAMTEC. Did she have any for Caution? I think Caution didn't have any studio pics posted. I think she stopped for two main reasons - first being around MIAM when she claimed her entire concept was stolen/lifted by another artist (who was that?). And secondly because she really doesn't want to get the lambs all worked up about an album that's been delayed over and over for whatever reason. Robert Anthony, when do you think she will drop a single (and when do you think she should)? I love hearing your theories and manifestations.

I agree with Edward on the two points. - I think we are seeing no photos because she hasn't been in the studio much or at all really. We've been hearing the same "I have 10 songs but I haven't recorded the vocals yet" for like 2 years now. - I don't know what she is waiting for. Any idea she has now may not be relevant in a few years time because the music industry is constantly evolving and music trends change. Plus unfortunate as it is, age is a factor and the longer she waits the smaller her target audience becomes. We don't need another "starting from scratch after scrapping all ideas" which will mean we'll get an album in 2030 haha.

Edward, do you really think it's deeper than Poo Bear having a big mouth? I just can't believe MC is just writing songs in her journal and not going into the studio to lay down vocals. Maybe you are right, MC hasn't posted any studio pics because she just hasn't been inspired by anyone or even her own vocal capacities now. I hope everyday that she would post a studio pic in the booth with any producer. I would even a take a JD studio pic at this point. My original post was prompted by watching some studio videos of Robin Thicke finishing up his new album coming out in February or March.

First, I would like wish everyone a Merry Christmas today. I hope your day is filled with joy and love. Love is what we need more in this world. Second, I think Mariah and Anderson make a cute couple. Maybe Anderson is the type of man MC needs in her life. Any male who can write and sing a song like Leave The Door Open understands how to get a woman's attention. Plus, I wouldn't be suprised if Anderson is helping MC create a new sound for her next album. AP has won 5 Grammys. He is a well sought out songwriter and producer. Let's hope he is the one who can finally get MC and Bruno Mars in the studio in 2025.

Ugh I can't even know what to say. Remember when Cardi B and another high profile person was rumored to be on that track? I think it would have absolutely slapped if she had Ariana or Rihanna on it. Like can you imagine the bad bitch energy? And then have a video with all her bad bitch girl boss friends featured in it for replay value like Rihanna, Ariana, Kim K, Naomi, Donatella Versace (ahaha if that's not the most random group of people but imagine the potential). ANN was a huge missed opportunity. The kids would have eaten it up. It's got such fun one liners and it's catchy. The "parlez vous Francaise I sad no" bit could have been viral also "snakes on the grass it's time to cut the lawn, Ed scissorhands aka I cut you off".

I'm dead, not an another cookie and beverage. Hahaha. Ya I really love that her recent collabs have been with young female artists. Especially her accepting Ariana (who has always fangirled over her). Previously Mariah had an image that she's jealous of younger female artists (which I'm sure is annoying for her because she really lives in her own world and has only ever reacted because people keep trying to compare everyone to her or as her new replacement). So I'm glad she's now confident enough to embrace her role as "mother" (the gen z version for icon, not a real mother haha) and has harmonized in whistles twice with Ariana, worked with Latto (even after Latto originally said she didn't know about Fantasy) and so on. I love her in women empowerment or bad bitch type songs (yall know what I mean) so I would love some more of those with female collabs and ofcourse some fresh male collabs too. And when I saw collabs I mean relevant people not Steflon Don and all the other people she collaborated with that adds no value to me.

I love that her last 3 collaborations have been with female artists. That was always rare for her, it was always mostly male rappers if anyone was on a track with her. I would love to know what is going on. Why does she have so many plans simultaneously with not much coming to fruition. I am sure it is a lot more complicated than we know. Legal issues, label issues, health issues, vocal issues - we are being forced to speculate. I'm almost to the point where I wouldn't mind another cookie or beverage. Almost.

We love a positivity so go RA spread that cheer. I however feel similar to what others mentioned. I think making new music is really at the bottom of her priorities right now, let alone bringing the TEOM energy. It could be that she isn't currently on a label and doesn't want to release a solid body of work until she has logistics in place. She also seems more excited about her biopic rather than an album. We've been hearing she's got 10 songs ready for a while now and she has yet to lay vocals. TEOM Mariah wrote 4 bangers in a span of less than 48 hours. She was hungry back then she had something to prove, I think right now she has fully embraced her "legend" status and "retired until Christmas" status. Music will always be special to her and sometimes her inner Mimi comes out hungry to make a splash that's why she tried jumping on many hot remixes in recent times, but I don't know why she always jumps in by the time the momentum is gone. I will ofcourse always be hungry for new Mariah music so I hope she releases a full body of work soon (unpopular opinion I could not care less about her alt rock album). I would love a collab album with some fresh and current stars especially female artists.

Rihanna fangirling over Mariah at the NY show and asking for an autograph, Mariah walking down the stage backwards to go sign Rihanna's boobs is giving me life. How iconic. I want the latter to happen just to see this happen haha. "Brenda might knock Mariah right out of her stilettos and snatch her wig off or Mariah might have Brenda relocated to a nursing home for a couple of weeks." Jokes I think AIW has a good shot this year. Is she now competing with Old Town Road or Tipsy? Because I think Tipsy has the most weeks at number 1 right now ya? I could be wrong. I'm tired of these one hit wonders dethroning our queen, I would have been fine if it was one of bigger artists.

On the Billboard Hot 100, Kendrick Lamar holds seven positions with new songs from his latest album, GNX. These positions include spots 1 through 5 and 8 to 9. "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" by Shaboozey and "Die With A Smile" by Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars hold positions 6 and 7, respectively, but are marked with descending bullets, indicating a decline.
If Kendrick Lamar's "Squabble Up" does not remain at number one next week, it’s highly likely that Mariah Carey’s "All I Want for Christmas Is You" will take the top spot as the holiday season continues to heat up.
If my predictions are wrong and Kendrick Lamar stays at number one, Brenda might knock Mariah right out of her stilettos and snatch her wig off or Mariah might have Brenda relocated to a nursing home for a couple of weeks.

Seriously? (107,735)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

|

The key word/phrase is "majority of her success". So not all of her success is contained in the 90s. The list isn't for "who peaked in the 21st century". Mariah wasn't irrelevant in the 21st century. She had a second song of the decade, she had multiple #1s, she broke multiple records including becoming the the artist with the most #1's, she is probably the only artist who ended and started multiple years at the #1 position, 7 top 5 albums , 11 top 20 singles, multiple accolades and other stuff I can remember at this point of time. Also AIW single handedly is responsible for how now more and more artists make Christmas albums early on into their careers. And what do you mean she's not a pop star? Of course she is. Pop isn't only bubblegum pop, it's any artist/music that has been popular at a certain point of time, Billboard named her the greatest popstar of 1991. Anyways all of this to say I'm not saying she should top the list, could have been one of the honourable mentions.

She definitely has nothing to prove but it's a shame that Billboard didn't honor the artist that holds possibly the most records on their charts. Not having her in the top 20 is insane to me. She's literally made some of the people on that list become singers because they were inspired by her. You cannot spell MusiC without MC. Her rise then massive fall followed by the greatest comeback of all time alone should have cemented her on that list.

Sad to see Mariah not on the list. Even though her major chunk of success was in the 90s, she's had huge moments in the 2000s and has cemented her legacy by continuing to be relevant and selling out tours almost 35 years into her. Her impact on the music industry is unparalleled.

New music? (107,693)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

I don't think Mariah has any plans for a part 3 yet or even thought about it at all. From what I gathered, the hosts were talking about how E=MC2 is Emancipation's sequel and they were the ones who came up with the idea of part 3 and asked if Mariah considers Caution pt. 3 of the the TEOM sequels or if that's something that'll come at some point in the future. To which Mariah said it'll be in the future meaning she doesn't consider Caution to be related to TEOM. She in no way seemed to have even thought of creating a part 3 and was just playing along with the idea the hosts threw out there. If there's ever a part 3 the theme should follow of the previous titles, my vote goes to Mirage (pulling from Mariah's nick name where she used her other nick names for the previous versions - Mimi for TEOM and MC for the sequel), or it can be MonarC (having the M and C but also a nod to her record label and her love for butterflies and what butterflies represent - transformation and hope) it'll also be a cheeky nod to her being the monarch (queen of music). Other options The Evolution of Mimi, Legacy, Metamorphosis. Haha ok I'll stop for now.

She has an incredible ear for music and is a known perfectionist. I hope she's curating this next album and phase very carefully. I'm beyond excited and hopeful. If it hits great, if it doesn't I'm sure I'll enjoy it just the same.

That's what I thought too, that it was a one off toxic relationship but then hasn't there been more allegations against him by other women? I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure there were more allegations from other people as well. He's undeniably talented and has a great voice for sure and would complement Mariah's voice well, but it's just my personal opinion that she shouldn't align herself with anymore known abusers, after R Kelly and Diddy.

I know that was wrong of Chris Brown to do that to Rihanna, but she has forgiven him. The industry has forgiven him. You can't deny his talent and popularity that makes his songs so popular on the R&B charts. To conclude, I think MC just hasn't been approached by Chris Brown to collaborate. I hope it happens in 2025.

It was in a random tabloid, hence I said "rumor". I tried looking it up but can't seem to find it. She was also asked in a show about Rihanna opening up about her abuse at the hands of Chris and Mariah said she can relate to it due to facing mental and emotional abuse in her own marriage (I think it was on Larry King).

No to Chris Brown for me. Also rumor has it Mariah refused to sit with him at an event after he assaulted Rihanna. We don't need her associating with another known abuser. If Mariah really wants to go out of her comfort zone I would love to see a duet with Post Malone or Zayn or Harry Styles. Hell why not a sexy song with Sabrina Carpenter. Nonsense is a very Ariana-Mariah type song. Mariah, Ariana and Sabrina on a song would be lethal.

A Breezy duet for Valentine's day would set the internet on fire. Their voices would sound so good together on a hot passionate R&B love song. Their duet would be looked at as being creative and stepping out of their comfort zone. I just feel it would be a number #1 song on multiple charts. Who wouldn't love a Breezy and Mimi duet? Mimi needs a song to get the public's attention in 2025. Babyface, Daryl Simmons, Antonio Dixon, Muni Long, and Tank should co-write the song with Breezy and Mimi.

You could definitely be right I don't really know much about the behind the scenes of Billboard but even then if she's promoting it doesn't need to be so saturated hahah. Too many partnerships, too many features etc.

I believe one of the rules of the Hot 100 is that a song/single has to have current promotion. I don't know much so please correct me if I'm wrong t.
